Great room, excellent view. Food was delicious, highly recommend this hotel. I wish I could have stayed longer.

The hotel is located right on the coast. The view from the room was WONDERFUL. I really liked the fact that they welcome you to the hotel with a free glass of champagne.

I have stayed here with my immediate and extended family on numerous occasions, both as paying guests and leveraging SPG reward nights. I - we - simply love it: a short drive into Valpo and long, pisco-fuelled nights in the port; a languid stroll to the casino (though the casino is not what it once was, sadly); great outdoor pool and decks. The staff are always warm, flexible, customer savvy and commercially focused. Only possible improvements would be to the restaurant which is uninspiring, whether for breakfast, lunch or supper...not bad, just not great. We will be back...again and again

We stayed in December of 2013. The staff were the best part of what we liked which is saying a lot because the location is spectacular, just beautiful. We enjoyed our room and the balcony. The view up the beach and down the beach is world-class. I made an enlarged photo to put in my office and have received many compliments on the beauty of the place. Thanks for a wonderful stay. The staff spoke English and Castellano. I hope we can go back.

The hotel is nice and the location is great. About the best feature here it's the room views, with a balcony over the ocean, so nice. However the premises are showing aging and it's quite clear the maintenance staff is not doing their work. The plumbing in the room was deficient, with the sink completely clogged, which is actually quite disturbing, since any water used takes ages to disappear. The shower was also old, and there was no possibility of regulate the water flow. Moreover the shower holder fell right off when my wife turned on the water.
The TV is also quite old, and the controller wasn't responsive at all. I struggled a few times to turn the TV on before pressing the Power button on the actual TV.
The staff seemed helpful at first, but actually seem to dislike enquiries or questions. I asked about my checkout bill detail, and the lady helping me was rude and not helpful. The staff should try to actually smile when attending, it seems that they are there under a death penalty or something worse.
Food was another disappointment. Breakfast has quite a variety of foods, but none above average quality. Bacon was half cooked and covered in a small pond of fat. The lack of plates to serve was also evident, something the staff took quite sometime to replace. The service in the bar was also lacking. It took them 30 minutes to bring our order, and even then they brought the wrong order for my daughter who had to wait another15 minutes for her actual order. No apologies offered for that either.
As an SPG member I asked for late check-out, and was very disappointed to learn that the did not allow any, but "hey I can give you 15 extra minutes!".
As an SPG member I didn't feel any different as any other passenger, and that's the first time I felt that way in a Sheraton hotel.
Kudos for the Valet Parking guys, always available to help you and to greet you with a smile. A real example of the SPG treatment.
All in all, the Sheraton experience is really lowered by the poor attention and bad food. The hotel looks like a 5 star but feels like a 3. I also recommend doing some serious maintenance to the rooms.

It's a really nice hotel. I stayed when it was fully booked so didn't get a Platinum upgrade. I did however receive a room with gorgeous ocean views and little balcony with 2 chairs (many of the rooms have them as the hotel sits right on it). Free breakfast was offered to me as a Platinum guest - although I kept oversleeping and never got to enjoy it.
The gym is spectacularly large and well equipped and they have a wonderful outdoor deck where you can enjoy lunch & wine overlooking the ocean (albeit with very slow service). They also have a nice but small pool area.
The rooms were decently large and the service was good. Valet parking is available for 5,000 Pesos per night (about $8-$9). You can walk to Vina Del Mar from here - it's about 15 min to town (and food). Valparaiso is about 12-15 min away by your car or if you prefer a taxi for about 10,000 pesos. There is also a metro line nearby that goes to Valparaiso although I didn't use it.
Not much english spoken by the front desk personnel - but enough to get you by. If you speak some Spanish it'll be a big help.
Two downsides I found: (i) they don't keep the printer stocked with paper and dole out about 3-4 pieces at a time. And only one of their 6 computers is attached to the one working printer. So if someone is using it - you're out of luck. Plus if someone isn't and you want to print you have to go stand in line a the front desk to get paper. It's quite annoying. (ii) They offer green choice but really don't know how to manage the program properly. The room was not equipped with the hang tag and I had to request it from multiple people each day to get one. Then, the following day the hang tag was removed from my room and my room was cleaned! Although they did leave the little slip stating I'd get the points - which I did. I had to go through the same thing the following day to chase down a tag again. Such a pain.
Overall I recommend this hotel if coming to the area.

We had a great stay of a few nights in November in SPG points+cash, and would recommend this hotel to others. With that being said, a few observations for the manager: It was a chilly week during our stay which made the outdoor pool too cold to use. We were excited to use the indoor pool, but even in climate control that water was chilly. We asked if that temperature could be increased, but were told it couldn't because of external factors. Consider steps you could take to make this indoor pool warmer during cold days, we were disappointed we couldn't swim comfortably.
Also, you grant SPG member guests 10% off on food and beverage purchases, but this wasn't reflected on my checkout bill. I had to inform the checkout agent, who then had to do the 10% discount manually. For guests who don't notice this oversight, they'll lose this nice benefit. No guest likes to have to police their checkout bill for oversights like this.
