Having spent over 170 nights at this hotel in the past 18 months I've witnessed how the property has gone from average to bad. The only reason to stay at this property is to accrue SPG points since it's the only Starwood property in the country.
Food is terrible, lounge hours and offerings have been cut, the gym can hardly be called that since it's installed in a corridor and corners are constantly being cut by management. A disgrace to the Sheraton brand.

I received a Platinum upgrade to a suite which was very nice. Thank you for recognizing my Platinum status. Having this status I was informed that I received a welcome drink and my choice of breakfast in the lounge or restaurant. I received my welcome drink and took my breakfast the next morning in the restaurant. However when I checked out I didn’t notice (due to my lack of Spanish comprehension) that I was being billed for both the welcome drink and my included breakfast. I checked out and left. The staff corrected this when I later brought it to their attention but these charges should have not ever made it to my bill. The charges took some time and effort on my part to correct.

Very large and comfortable rooms. A little bit of noise outside of the hotel disturb your rest. The gym needs a lot of improvements.

Everything was par excellence from the food to service to the rooms. Small mishap of one dysfunctional elevator but otherwise superb!! Look forward to go back again next year.

The Sheraton San Salvador has become our home away from home when we need to spend some time in the Capital. I love that it is not just another high rise hotel. The hotel was designed to wrap around the amazing pool area and pretty much every room has great views. The morning breakfast buffet is perfect way to start the day. The best part of the hotel is the staff. They are always friendly and ready to help. I especially appreciate the service I receive at the front desk from Elsy L. Elsy's English is perfect and she always greets me by name and provides platinum room upgrades when available. Things like this make a big difference and the hotel is very lucky to have her at the check in counter to provide such a great first impression. The lounge is also one of the nicer SPG lounges with great food and beverage service, The staff there is also always very attentive. The staff and the pool area are the main things that set this hotel apart.

Very happy to stay at this hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I called for extra towels and they were delivered in less than 5 minutes!

In general very good stay, weather in the city was extremely hot and humid, the A/C in the room did not work fully to my liking, a bit noisy. Service in general excellent, above expectations.
