There is definitely something missing from my recent stays at the Downtown Sheraton. I have been a Fan, frequent guest and am a Platinum member.
Where's your spark, Folks? The elevator service has become atrocious. The customer service levels are just adequate from the Front Desk to the Concierge/Bellman. The gym is functional but needs to be watched at peak loads. The Club service is still very nice but everybody else needs to get back on track. Please step up your game. The charges are too high for such an average experience.

1. Understand the hotel is under construction, but the malfunctioning elevators were more than just a nuisance. At one point, was stuck on the elevator not moving for about 2 minutes, then it went to 24th floor and let us out. The floor itself appeared closed for construction. Later, was about to get on and heard a very large bang from the elevator shaft.
2. When checking out, tried calling multiple times from room using the "Valet Parking" button. Never got an answer - when I got to valet - they said the button doesn't work, and there's a different # that needs to be dialed. Just annoying.

Extremely over priced for the status of this facility.
No communication from staff about renovation during check-in.
Elevator wait unacceptable and when desk queried, that was the first time that it was learned that 2 of the 4 elevators are used for renovation crew.
Room lighting insufficient.
Wasted up light by sitting chair.
Insufficient for reading.
Bathroom lighting insufficient.
Tube/Shower has no non skid and is extremely slippery. A SAFETY ISSUE.
Bed is like sleeping in a hammock. Slept for 2 hours and was up the remainder of the night.
Would not recommend this hotel to others.

I arrived at the hotel at 3 pm and waited for 30 minutes in line to approach the check in. I was told my room wasn't ready and w would be another hour. I asked the staff to call me in an hour to provide a status. However, an hour and half approached and I still didn't receive a call and was told my room was still not ready. Hotel policy is to the rooms ready by 3pm but as of 5:45 my room still wasn't ready. This made me late for my event because I couldn't get ready for it until i freshened up. I asked if the room could be discounted but they couldn't accommodate my request. I am very unhappy about their service and wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I am a travel industry professional and am responsible for managing corporate travel programs for Fortune 500 Companies. As a result, I am frequently on the road. Many years ago I stopped staying at Sheraton Hotels, as I saw a decline in the quality. I was booked into the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown by a colleague, mainly due to the location and the discounted industry rate. I was quicky reminded why I vowed not to stay at Sheraton hotels. The Front Desk area was loud and I could barely hear the woman who checked me in, due to excessive noise. I was put in a room on the 3rd floor and attached to a meeting room. The bathroom was dingy, paint peeling by the ceiling, with no washcloths. There was a broken thermostat on the wall and the room was too hot. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the only worthwhile aspect of the room. The wi-fi was additional fee and slow. I could hear people in the hallway, as if they were inside my room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and had I encouraged a client to use the hotel, I would be fired.

This is the worst Sheraton I have ever stayed at and would not recommend anyone to stay here. The service is horrible, there are no basic amenities in the room (toothbrush, shower cap, fridge, safe). The "free" wifi they offered in the room is terrible. I could hardly get a good signal. Housekeeping didn't even clean our room and the front desk receptionist tried to blame us by saying we had left the do not disturb sign on our door.
I stayed at this hotel because it was one of the host hotels for the CMC (fashion market). They offered a special price for the room including some extra perks like free wifi and half price on parking. Upon check in, the receptionist had no clue that this hotel was one of the host hotels which offered these special perks. I had to print a copy of the offer to show her and I waited at least 15 minutes at the receptions desk for her to confirm with her supervisor who was also not aware of this deal.
Overall this was the worst experience I have had a Sheraton and I will never stay here again.

The rooms in this hotel are horrible. I would have done better in a Motel 6. Paint was peeling from the bathroome ceiling and the bathtub had was rusted where the drain pipe was located. As a platinum member I was appalled at the condition of this hotel. I am now considering switching brand loyalties

They wanted to charge me $10.00 per box to deliver my dialysis solution to my room, The company sent them to the hotel for free. No thermastat in the room. No fan in the bathroom. No fresh air in the room. Charged almost $13.00 per 24 hours for wifi. And at least one of the bellmen were rude to no end. I spent 7 days there for a convention and wished I could have changed hotels.
