Rated 2 out of 5 by On the Eve of Construction Although I'd been warned about the construction disruption at this property, I thought "How bad could it be?" Here's what you'll experience if you fall for the low rate as I did: you'll enter through scaffolding, you'll wait eons for the elevators, you'll work out in a windowless conference room, you'll have trouble accessing your wifi. That said, you won't hear a lot of construction noise. If you use the club lounge or the restaurant, you'll enjoy the new facilities on the 26th floor. The food has been upgraded and the views are amazing. If you care what you pay for parking, save tons of money by using the lots across the street or down the block. July 26, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing I was very disappointed with the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel. When my family arrived, I found out that the hotel was undergoing renovations. There was a flood on the third floor. Several floors had no electricity, and none of the rooms had working air conditioning. I told the customer service agent at the front desk that I wanted a room with electricity and air conditioning. None were available, and I was offered a room with a king sized bed and a roll-away bed, but still no air conditioning. The manager offered to have us put up at another hotel, but we would have to wait for an unknown amount of time. As it was already late, we decided to stay, and were offered 50% off of the first night. Air conditioning was restored in the middle of the night. As for the room, it was small and cramped. The shower drain was poor, as water did not go down well enough. And for some bizarre reason, the rack that stored the towels was inside the shower stall. They all had to be taken out and placed on the counter so that they wouldn't all get soaked when the shower ran. The wifi connection was poor. Hopefully this will all be fixed, and a pool will be added. However, the staff was nice, July 16, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Renovations Please I realize the hotel is under renovation, so my ratings pertain to this point in time. The room shows a lot of wear and the vents, in particular, show evidence of leakage, which isn't reassuring, especially when they're right over your head. Signage for what elevators to use to go to the 26th floor would be most helpful. Even then, you need to find a way to get the elevators that DO go to the 26th floor to respond to their buttons when pushed. We felt we were in the Twilight Zone trying to get an elevator that went to the 26th. You might also want to prevent the elevators from stopping at the floors that are under construction - very creepy when the doors open into hanging plastic. The staff was fantastic! July 21, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by renovations nightmare I was booked for 5 nights, I stayed 2 nights and moved to another downtown hotel for the other 3 nights. The staff was exceptional considering the management put them in a very difficult renovation situation i.e. all the electrical was out on floors 16,17 & 18 for the entire night, I was at the make do reception on the second floor and because the elevator was so slow I asked for the location of the stairs to go down one level and outside the building...nobody knew...this was not a comfortable feeling. I would like to say again that the staff including housekeeping were friendly, patient (lots of complaints in the reception line ahead of me) and professional. I think I should also add that when I checked into the new hotel on day 3, I walked into my room which was full storage i.e. mattresses and furniture, so I have to give Sheraton a break, it isn't easy keeping track of all that goes on in a hotel especially when there is major renovations going on....I will definitely stay at a Sheraton hotel again. Rated 2 out of 5 by hotel usually great Being that the hotel is under construction, it was not convenient for our stay there this past week. We stay there at least 6 times per year and always enjoy our stay there, but our rate was more than it's ever been. I believe that our rate should have been less because of the inconvenience of construction with getting to and from the parking garage and with no access to any coffee or foods for our entire stay. When companies come to your hotel often, a lower rate should be offered to those who use your hotel on a regular basis. July 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Never ever again Building under construction, valet parking a nightmare, no refrigerator in room, no in room safe. Building in need of repair, no cold water in sink, no upgrades offered for inconveniences, not likely to stay there again anytime soon. July 23, 2014
