Rated 3 out of 5 by Not my best stay There is definitely something missing from my recent stays at the Downtown Sheraton. I have been a Fan, frequent guest and am a Platinum member. Where's your spark, Folks? The elevator service has become atrocious. The customer service levels are just adequate from the Front Desk to the Concierge/Bellman. The gym is functional but needs to be watched at peak loads. The Club service is still very nice but everybody else needs to get back on track. Please step up your game. The charges are too high for such an average experience. August 16, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Stay on March 9. I arrived at the hotel at 3 pm and waited for 30 minutes in line to approach the check in. I was told my room wasn't ready and w would be another hour. I asked the staff to call me in an hour to provide a status. However, an hour and half approached and I still didn't receive a call and was told my room was still not ready. Hotel policy is to the rooms ready by 3pm but as of 5:45 my room still wasn't ready. This made me late for my event because I couldn't get ready for it until i freshened up. I asked if the room could be discounted but they couldn't accommodate my request. I am very unhappy about their service and wouldn't recommend this hotel. March 11, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by 3 words to describe this hotel: What a dump! I am a travel industry professional and am responsible for managing corporate travel programs for Fortune 500 Companies. As a result, I am frequently on the road. Many years ago I stopped staying at Sheraton Hotels, as I saw a decline in the quality. I was booked into the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown by a colleague, mainly due to the location and the discounted industry rate. I was quicky reminded why I vowed not to stay at Sheraton hotels. The Front Desk area was loud and I could barely hear the woman who checked me in, due to excessive noise. I was put in a room on the 3rd floor and attached to a meeting room. The bathroom was dingy, paint peeling by the ceiling, with no washcloths. There was a broken thermostat on the wall and the room was too hot. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the only worthwhile aspect of the room. The wi-fi was additional fee and slow. I could hear people in the hallway, as if they were inside my room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and had I encouraged a client to use the hotel, I would be fired. October 3, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by This hotel is undergoing renovations This hotel is undergoing renovations I knew I would have to compromise my expectations. What I didn't expect was the rudeness I encountered from door man. The usual greeting of "Welcome to Sheraton" was lacking and instead of offering to help us unload our luggage, he asked us RUDELY... "Do you need help?" as he watched us struggle to unload. To which, off course, we responded "yes". When I started to ask him if they could please bring our luggage to our room, he rudely held out his hand to "shut me up" mid-sentence, and uttered.."wait, wait", not once but twice and proceeded counting out our luggage, asking us repeatedly if this was it! Every time I tried to speak, he would hold out his hand, shaking his head to stop me. He then stared at us rudely and gave us slip of paper and ordered us to take it to the front desk. My husband and I were stunned...we have never been so rudely treated as guest in a reputable hotel before! I almost said something but I didn't want to make a scene in front of my kids. He ruined the rest of our hotel experience. August 12, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Would not stay here again This is the worst Sheraton I have ever stayed at and would not recommend anyone to stay here. The service is horrible, there are no basic amenities in the room (toothbrush, shower cap, fridge, safe). The "free" wifi they offered in the room is terrible. I could hardly get a good signal. Housekeeping didn't even clean our room and the front desk receptionist tried to blame us by saying we had left the do not disturb sign on our door. I stayed at this hotel because it was one of the host hotels for the CMC (fashion market). They offered a special price for the room including some extra perks like free wifi and half price on parking. Upon check in, the receptionist had no clue that this hotel was one of the host hotels which offered these special perks. I had to print a copy of the offer to show her and I waited at least 15 minutes at the receptions desk for her to confirm with her supervisor who was also not aware of this deal. Overall this was the worst experience I have had a Sheraton and I will never stay here again. October 18, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel is way out dated Rooms and hotel are way outdated. The AC controls are horrible and the AC system not good. Rooms are noisy from all the water runninf through the hotel 24 hours a day.. For the price of $329 per night its not worth it. August 11, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Do not let the lobby fool you The rooms in this hotel are horrible. I would have done better in a Motel 6. Paint was peeling from the bathroome ceiling and the bathtub had was rusted where the drain pipe was located. As a platinum member I was appalled at the condition of this hotel. I am now considering switching brand loyalties January 29, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Stay experience air conditioner broke but was not advised. I just found a fan in my room. It was hot and stuffy. No windows to open... Parking situation was horrible! When I complained, it was down-played. Elevators took too long and malfunctioned. August 11, 2014
