Rated 3 out of 5 by Cardswin Needs improvement
The location of the hotel is great if you need downtown LA. If you're a tourist, you might like an area that isn't as rundown as downtown LA is. The hotel is in need of major amenity updates (which I understand are being undertaken at this time). One area that was way below standard was the plumbing in the guest bathroom. The hot water took forever to come on and the tub drained so slowly that you were standing in 2" deep water while taking a shower. Hopefully, these issues will be addressed in the remodel. As stated above, the staff was outstanding at every turn: pleasant, helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay.

The front desk was helpful in giving me directions and Jun at the front desk went above and beyond. His friendly demeanor made a huge impact on me during my check out and after talking to me about the future improvements to the hotel and mall and how SPG benefits worked, I decided to become a SPG member.

Rated 1 out of 5 by godard unworthy of the sheraton brand name
while sheraton complete their much publicized renovation, they should shut this hotel down. in its current state, this property disgraces the sheraton brand name. i arrived last night after a very long flight from iceland. i am a gold member and asked for an upgrade. i was not accommodated because the hotel was full. i am not complaining, since i know that this option is subject to availability. i am complaining about the fact that when i asked linda at the front desk to be granted access to the club level lounge to watch the WC game today i should not have been told that it would cost me $30. this is very poor customer service. if they can't offer an upgrade, they need to make it up by offering guests small perks. but i want to recognize three employees who proved a much needed antidote to the negative experience I encountered at this hotel: gustavo at the front desk, who reversed linda's rude decision from yesterday and granted me access to the lounge this morning, juan at the lounge, with whom i had a lovely conversation about soccer, and jaro at the restaurant, where i watched the world cup game yesterday, who
gracefully accommodated my vegan needs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by TheUnhappyGuest Worst Internet Connectivity in the World
I have been traveling around the world over the past several years and I must said Sheraton LA Downtown has the worst and extremely unstable Internet connectivity. The Internet speed is extremely slow. I am here for business and Internet is the key factor to stay at this hotel. I will never come back or recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.
I had a buffet lunch at the hotel. Worst quality of food. For the price I paid, I would rather dine in elsewhere.
Room temperature is too cold even you adjusted the antique in-room thermostat.
I booked my room with my SPG # but when I checked-in, Receptionist told me that they don't have SPG# in my reservation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Karriej Under renovation
The staff is very nice. The room was average and the elevators were slow. Parking is prohibitive. The parking rate for hotel guests is more than for the community. Thus, that makes it difficult to tip the valets - not really fair for them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dusty74 Average Stay During Construction
NOT a good SPG Value due to the on-going construction. Other family members had similar rooms, but a lower rate than ours. We had a corner room that was described as an "free upgrade", but still not worth the higher price. Staff was very friendly & helpful, including front desk, valets and 26th floor temporary restaurant staff. I would not recommend a stay at the hotel until the construction is completed. I would suggest a discount of some form to encourage guests to return after construction completion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mimi54 Location is great
This hotel was conveniently located near the Staples Center, Nokia, and LACC. In addition, it was close to public transportation, drugstores, and a grocery store. It was clean and comfortable, but lacked amenities such as an iPod docking station, microwave, refrigerator, and a room safe. It is currently undergoing renovations.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kelly2014 Poor experience at Sheraton on Hope St.
The hotel is under major construction, which they failed to advertise when I made my reservation. The restaurant, bar, & gym were not operational. There is no pool. Construction workers were on my floor constantly, they turned the water off without notice, and did loud drilling. They tried to charge me for 5 days parking when I used 1 day due to bad records. The AC is weak so the rooms are hot.
