While a short stay, it was comfortable stay. I wish I could have stayed a little longer to take full advantage of all this property has to offer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Navy2012 Poor housekeeping
At check in the staff was friendly and courteous. I was pleased we could check in early due to an early flight arrival. However, this is where the breakdown starts. The bathroom floor was covered in hair from the previous occupants. The table beside the chair was covered in dust. I particulary notice these issues due to allergies I have. Housekeeping awoke me at 615am knocking on door across hall delivering towels.

This hotel is very lovely and well maintained. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. The King room was clean & larger than expected. The only downside was the heating mechanism. It was very loud and would go on and off throughout the night. And the bedding is very soft with big feather pillows and a heavy feather comforter. If these 2 issues don't bother you, then this place will work for you.

When I travel 1 thing I look for in a hotel is a nice pool. When I arrived at the hotel I found out the pool would be closed for almost all of my 4 night stay because of a leak in the roof. That was very disappointing!!

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and for the last 3 of them their indoor pool and hot tub were broken. We would have loved to be able to relax at the end of the day soaking in the hot tub after a long day of sight seeing. Expected more for a hotel like this.

I don't even know where to begin so I'll start with getting out of my taxi. There was one other guest who was being taken care of by the valet, which left two staff standing outside chatting while I struggled to get through the door with my luggage. The door is not automatic and I had to pull it open. Had it been a push to open, it would have been fine. After I dropped my one suitcase and almost fell over the other to get through the door, one staff member asked if I needed help. Seriously?
I don't expect to be treated any differently than other guests because I have Platinum status, however, at least treat me with the same courtesy a human being deserves. No greeting, just a look and a "I need to see your ID." I asked if there was an upgrade available, as that is a benefit of the SPG program and was told there wasn't due to a wedding, which was understandable. The Preferred/Platinum staff did not tell me where the Club Lounge was located, the hours, or explain any other "perks".
The numbering of the hotel was very odd. I know how to count, I know my numbers, and all I can say is that they need to renumber or color code or something so they don't see wandering guests looking all confused. The room I was in was in the very very back, in a tiny wing. It was a large room with comfortable beds, and clean. The heating/cooling was terrible and made a lot of noise every time the AC or heating kicked in or was adjusted.
Each time I called the front desk, the staff sounded like I was interrupting their time on Facebook or something. I had simple questions which I could not find the answers, therefore the call to the front desk and concierge, such as "Are local calls included?", "Is the complimentary breakfast in the Club Lounge or the restaurant?", "Is there a shuttle to the airport?" etc. It did not matter who answered the phone. Even when I went to ask in person, it was the same attitude.
I had a late check out for 4:00 pm, however when I came back from exploring around 1:00, found my key wouldn't work. It was a bit annoying to walk all the way to my room to find out, walk all the way back to the front desk, then go back up again. Yes, exercise is good and I'm not lazy, but still...an annoyance.
The location was a redeeming quality, as well as the housekeeping staff who were very friendly.
I will not stay here again, unless the management retrains their staff. Customer service is what ruined my stay.

My room (4083) was overall OK. But, the bath tub had an obvious hole in it! The fitness center had several broken treadmills.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. I was attending a wedding nearby. The check-in was completed quickly and the staff very friendly. I attended a breakfast the following day at the hotel and besides the delicious food, the service was exceptional. I definitely want to stay at The Sheraton Society Hill again.

This hotel is within walking distance to historical Philly. We stepped out the door onto cobblestone streets into history: Franklin, George Washington, the Liberty Bell, all within a short walk The satff was great, especially the valet who was extremely helpful..

Rated 1 out of 5 by BRENDA907 NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE
I WAS NOT IMPRESSED WITH THIS HOTEL AT ALL. FROM THE VERY NOISY HALLWAYS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, WHILE TRYING TO GET SOME SLEEP, TO THE EXESSIVE PARKING CHARGES WHICH WE WERE NOT INFORMED OF. I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE CHARGE WHILE BOOKING THE ROOM, OR AFTER CHECKING OUT. I WAS TOLD BY ANOTHER FRIEND WHO CHECKED OUT BEFORE ME. AFTER I DID NOT SEE A PARKING CHARGE ON MY FINAL BILL, I INQUIRED ABOUT IT. I WAS THEN TOLD YES, SURE, THERE IS PARKING CHARGE, SO SINCE I PUT MY ROOM ON MY CREDIT CARD, THEY WOULD HAVE JUST ADDED THE CHARGES AFTER I LEFT, WHICH I FEEL IS DECEPTIVE. I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT MY FINAL BILL WAS WHAT WAS ON THE PAPER IN MY HAND, NOT $40.00 MORE THAN THAT.

The room was comfortable and clean.
The only downside was the absence of refrigeration. I have a medical condition that requires me to keep some meds in a cool, but not freezing, place. It would have been more comforting not to use ice.
I expect to return to other Starwood facilities.

We schedule an after Wedding breakfast the next day and the head waiter did not usher my guest to the special room they set aside and they are charging me for more guest that ate breakfast .Imagine, there were an estimated 60 people staying at the hotel and they are charging me for 80 people. I would like to know where the other people came from. Perhaps they did not check who were the wedding guest?

My now husband and I were married in old city and selected the Society Hill Sheraton as our gathering place after the wedding and wedding night location. The bar Taste, connected the the hotel, was a lot of fun and accommodating to our large group and the hotel services themselves were fantastic. The rooms were comfortable and clean, while coordinating the event the hotel's employees were responsive, quick, and friendly. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the experience to others.

We recently stayed during Hurricane Sandy. We arrived prior to the Hurricane and had to extend our stay longer because of the hurricane. The rooms were very nice, but did lack a microwave or a refrigerator. Our room was in the very corner of the hotel so it was a long walk to the only elevator. If you are a tourist and want to be near Independence Hall... this hotel is within walking distance. We were from out of town and was hoping to be accommodated because of the Hurricane and wasn't.

We had just returned from a vacation to Niagara Falls where we stayed at Sheraton on the Falls in Canada. Upon return we were evacuated from our home on a Barrier Island during Hurricane Sandy. We needed to relocate quickly, the reservationist found us a great room at a great price. Everyone at the hotel was more than accomodating. Having access to the Starwood Club room was a big bonus since all nearby restaurants were closed. The staff and general manager all made themselves known to us and were very friendly and sympathetic to everyones situation. Almost all of the guests were evacuees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Phili1sttimer Staff was terrific at this hotel.
Location and the availability of an offered special were the reasons we decided to try this property. We were very happy with the location...only a few blocks from Independence Mall. It is in a quieter area than some of the other conveniently located hotels, too, which we found pleasant. The gentleman who checked us in at the desk gets an A++ for professionalism, friendliness, and great service. We found the rest of the staff good too. Rooms looked very clean. I had wished there was a small fridge or microwave in the room for convenience, but the way things worked out the lack of these amenities wasn't much of an issue. I absolutely love that the property is 100% smoke free - getting stuck in a smoking room is a deal breaker for us and when all rooms are nonsmoking you don't have to worry about that happening. There was a wedding one night we were there and it was noisy...the walls seem not very soundproof and we could hear not only the wedding music into the night but clearly heard conversations of the people in the next room, but this was not enough of an issue that it would deter us staying again in the future. Overall, very happy with our choice to stay here. All properties near the historic district are expensive but this wasn't any worse than others in the area with the special they were offering. If an affordable room was available on our next trip we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I have forgotten his name, but to the gentleman working the check-in desk late at night on October 24th, thank you! Your customer service skills are outstanding and contributed much to our high level of satisfaction.

Dirt and hair on floor and sink in bathroom. Towels seemed old and not changed out . Actually disgusting . Other than that the restaurant is nice for a cocktail . The door staff is very understaffed for any event . It took 40 mins. to get my car from the valet. The valet is $40 for a night !!!) unreal with the cost of a night in this semi-nice hotel in a very nice area of old city Philadelphia. Bottom line, bring flip flops and your own towels for the bathroom experience.

Hotel is fine...that's about it. It looks like some things were recently renovated, and those areas are nice but other things were just overlooked. For example, the elevators are shabby & beat up (and smelled funny) and there is no automatic door at the front, so I had to juggle my briefcase & suitcase to even get inside. There was never a doorman to be found & I came & went several times.
The room was comfortable and about as corporate as a room could be. It had a strong chemical/detergent smell that gave me a headache. Also, each time the a/c came on, it was like someone started a jet engine.
All together, a perfectly fine stay, but nothing special.

This hotel was located a few short blocks from the river and minutes from the local bar scene. The staff were dead-on when recommending places to eat or must-see places in the area. The next time I am in Philly, I will definitely be staying there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ConcernedGuest This hotel has problems
On the second day of my stay, the housekeeper asked me if I was checking out. I replied that I would be staying for 2 more nights. She indicated that my room was slated as a checkout on her paperwork. When I went to the front desk to address this issue and attempt to prevent the wonderful housekeeping staff from having to do additional work, the staff member was rude and snippy.
On the third day of my stay, my room became unbearable humid. I informed the front desk that I have asthma and it was very difficult to breathe in my room. I was informed that maintenance would be there to address the issue immediately. My roommate stayed in the room to await the arrival of the maintenance individual. Over an hour later, I went back to the front desk to inform them that maintenance had still not arrived. The staff was extremely apologetic for the inconvenience and contacted the individual once again. Shortly thereafter, I was informed that the problem had been fixed. In reality, it appears that the only thing the maintenance individual did to alleviate the problem was to turn the air conditioning down to 60. Raising the temperature in the room to a comfortable level, for example 70, cause the humidity issue to arise one again. Thus, in the order for me to be able to breathe while in my room, it had to be miserably cold. I was extremely disappointed in the lack of concern that was shown in addressing this complaint.
