We stayed two nights at the Sheraton Duluth hotel. It was a rather disappointing stay for a Sheraton branded hotel. First, the wifi service is nonexistent. Sure it is free, but you get what you pay for, absolutely nothing. We had to leave the hotel to be able to do anything by wifi. If you are planning on doing any business that requires wifi go somewhere else. We complained at checkout and the clerk said, "I guess you got one of the dead spots" as if that was common. This is unacceptable for a hotel these days, especially a well respected brand as Sheraton. I was quite apparent others had the same issue as others had activated personal hotspots with name such as, "Sheraton wifi sux," etc.
Next, the restaurant was close to inedible. We had purchased the breakfast plan, which gave us free breakfast for two. Because we had four people we purchased two meals also. The food was unsalted, bland, and the eggs were rubbery. I ordered the corn beef sweet potato hash. It had no seasoning, the sweet potatoes appeared to have been boiled then drenched in oil, what was served was mushy, no flavor, and plain nasty. There was no carmalization and the corn beef was equivalent of shredded lunch meat. The breakfast was so bad we decided to eat elsewhere our second day although we still had two paid breakfasts available. I would never eat there again.
Third, the parking is in an "adjacent" parking garage. They don't tell you that you this very incovient. First finding a parking spot in a busy garage obviously used by other businesses and then not having dedicated spots available for hotel customers means parking at times a long distance to the door. Once to the door it is a walk of about 100 yards to another skywalk for about 50 yards then down a very slow elevator to the lobby level, then 50 yards or so to the lobby, and then an entirely different elevator to your room. Every time you need something from your car or you want to leave in your car you must take this long jaunt. You also have to stop each time at the front desk to get your ticket validated. Very incovient. We forgot to validate once, which cost us $7.00 to get our car out of the garage.
Lastly, some of the furniture is worn and broken. The desk chair arm rests were rickety and almost falling off, two light bulbs did not work, including for the full length mirror, and some of the carpet was worn. For a semi newer hotel, it is already showing it's age and evident lack of up keep.
Positives- very quiet, nice bed, good shower
The experience was very subpar for the brand and we will never choose to stay here again.

I had originally booked my reservation through SPG and they gave me the best rate they could of $252. I called the front desk and asked if they could match the Wedding Block rate that I was coming to stay with and the Front Desk Representative, Vanessa was very helpful and responsive, She got me the rate right away and sent me the email confirmation, I've never worked with such a great front desk person! Thank you Vanessa! I owe you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JNC1234 Great place to stay, great staff
There was a minor problem with the bathroom upon check in. The staff's response was immediate. They relocated us to another room and provided several perks for the inconvenience. The location was ideal for sight seeing. And an added bonus, parking was free. There is also a free shuttle service. If you are traveling to Duluth, this is an excellent place to stay.

The staff is what makes this hotel special! Even though many familiar faces are no longer around, Chris and Doug continue to make sure the staff is of exceptional quality! Our family couldn't stop raving about how well everything went and that it seemed like the staff already knew all of us, even if we never met! We had room transitions, bow tie emergencies, a late large breakfast reservation, so we were not easy guests... But, the staff pulled everything off like it was just another day and happy to do it! This shows you really can't replace great hotel management on the front side!!!

We drove up to Duluth for a final Summer getaway. The Sheraton is one of only a few places in Duluth that allow dogs. Loved the comfy dog bed for our golden retriever! Treats from the front desk staff were a really nice added touch. Thank you for welcoming our dog!
The room was nice, comfortable, but I was really disappointed to have a city view, when I was told we would get a lake view. No towels in the room upon arrival, but the front desk quickly sent some up.
Room service was ok. We ordered hamburgers, and not one of them came with tomatoes, lettuce, and pickle, as stated in the menu. It was late, we were hungry, so we let it go. Room service is expensive, so it would be nice to get what actually shows on the menu.
Jake, the driver, was fantastic! He is hard working and willing to go above and beyond. He drove me and my two kids to the harbor tours and promptly picked us up when we were ready to come back to the hotel. He asked if there was anything else we needed to make our stay relaxing...that is excellent guest service. Thank you, Jake!

My stays at the Sheraton Duluth over the past three years have never been perfect -- nothing terrible, nothing great, just tolerable stays at a Sheraton that doesn’t quite live up to its potential. However, our latest stay this weekend suggests the hotel is moving in the wrong direction.
First of all, it’s dirty. The carpet in our guest room was stained and sticky. Other carpeted areas of the hotel – most notably the elevators – could use a good scrubbing too. The sofa in our room had stains on both sides of the cushions and one of the cushions was unraveling around a medium-sized tear.
Second, the hotel is not aging well. The fixtures and furnishings are beat up. From our guest room to the bar to the front desk, it was obvious this place hasn’t repaired or replaced furniture at a rate to keep up with use (abuse?) from its guests.
Finally, the club lounge is below average. It’s always been below average – often crowded and understaffed – but this weekend was something to behold. The employee didn’t start serving breakfast until 45 minutes after the posted starting time. There was no coffee, no serving utensils, and no service whatsoever. Either the employee was trying to get fired or was in way over her head (and management should not have allowed her to run the breakfast service). Either way, you couldn’t do anything about it, except laugh and eat breakfast somewhere else. The hotel offered a $40 credit on the final bill and the clerk said “everyone had been complaining about the lounge.”
For me it’s probably time to try something new in Duluth, which is a shame. The hotel has great potential -- decent pool, good workout area, nice location in an up-and-coming area of downtown with great access to the Lakewalk -- but it just can't seem to deliver.

Staff was great, stored our bicycles, guided us on local spots and drove us to/from breakfast. Nice, clean, comfortable rooms. Would definitely stay here again.
