Recently stayed at this property to attend a graduation in town. I was happy with the recognition of my gold member status and upgrade. The room was comfortable and in good condition. Overall, the property could use some updates and more attention to cleanliness of common areas.

Hotel staff is excellent. Friendly and efficient. The food was always fresh and plentiful - very good. The staff does very well with what they have, but the company needs to replace stained carpets and chairs. Housekeeping needs to be a little more critical when vacuuming.

Over the weekend my in-laws and my husband/I stayed at the Sheraton Philadelphia for a wedding. The weekend was one issue after the other which was very embarrassing given I am a Starwood loyalist and talked my in-laws into staying there vs. a hotel across the street.
The issues started the first day when my in-laws were not notified there was construction in the hotel and the water would be shut off from 10am-2pm, until they needed to flush the toilet and wash their hands in the bathroom. They called down to the front desk to find out they would have no water.
My husband and I then checked in that night and were upgraded to a junior suite, which was very nice, however our sink drain would not open, so our sink was unusable and I had to use the complimentary nail file to pry it open for some draining that evening. As we were traveling with our dog we did not want anyone in the room without us, so that evening I asked the front desk to please call in the morning to arrange fixing the sink. The next morning it took two phone calls to get a maintenance man to our room to fix the sink, and the toilet since it became clogged during that time.
The arm chair in our bedroom of the suite had a huge rip down the entire back of the chair and there were stains all over the carpet on our floor & in our room. Throughout the weekend the room service was never cleared in a timely manner and I had to call down one day after 12-hours to ask for the tray to be moved, even after the cleaning crews came through.
My in-laws had a Sheraton Club room, which was renovated and very nice looking, however they said the breakfast staff was not friendly and it was a very scarce continental breakfast, no eggs or anything warm outside of oatmeal.
Overall it seemed we had issue after issue that did not speak well for Starwood or make my in-laws think of staying at a Starwood property in the future. I hope the Sheraton will have better response to inquiries and ensure the facilities are up to par for the future.

The hotel was great! The location was great! And, the price was fair considering the location and amenities. The only issue I had was after checking into my room, I noticed the maid staff left a dirty cloth on the floor and I had to wait two hours for a plunger and refrigerator.

The rooms was comfortable and the furniture was nice, but you can see that the hotel needs to be updated. It is time for a floor by floor makeover. This could be an excellent hotel. The location is perfect. It is nice place but it is time for refreshing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JohnW63 Nice Hotel, but currently encountering renovations
The hotel rooms are nice, spacious and comfortable. Currently, the restaurants/bars are under construction, which provides for limited options in the hotel. Nonetheless, it is in a great location that has much to offer.

If you stay more than 3 days make sure they give you the room key for the 3 days because they never change the default setting and on wednesday you will need to get a new one (It happened to many the 3 times i stayed there). Or worst wait 45 min on the 25 floor for a new key.

Really nice hote. Room very comfortable and clean.
Elevators were painfully slow, so I took the stairs a few times...and while I know stairways are generally for emergencies only, I was struck at how dingy and unwelcoming these stairwells were, Particularly the north tower.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Rick AVOID THIS CHEAP MOTEL
Rude staff, old, poor cheap renovation, marginal location. First room assigned (422) was on a roof level- anyone could simply walk up to the window, AND IT FACED A WALL. Asked for a new room and got (room 605) DIRECTLY ACROSS THE HALL FROM ICE & VENDING MACHINES...NOISE !!

Sheraton Downtown Philly was the host hotel for annual fundraiser. This was the best value we've had over the 9 years of the event and it was in close proximity. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Staff was kind to open doors, be friendly and assist us.

This hotel is older, but very comfortable - especially the beds. What "makes" this hotel is the staff which is always very accomodating, professional, and friendly. The location of the hotel cannot be beat and has beautiful views of the Ben Franklin Parkway

Rated 2 out of 5 by John2255 Good location and staff but...
The room was less than I am used to at Starwood Hotels. The door to my room required slamming it to close, sometimes more than once. The air conditioner banged each time it started, There were stains on the bathroom wall and the paint on the bathroom ceiling was bubbling.

I was very disappointed with the condition of this hotel. The carpet in the room was very stained and the bathroom just looked worn. The shower head would not put out a full flow as half the water still poured out of the tub spicket. I would not stay in this hotel again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NicknameLes Easy access - in the middel of it all
This hotel is conveniently located to popualr Philly sites, is very clean and comfortable, and the staff really went above and beyond to make me feel at home. The only thing I would add is a small frideg and microwave to all rooms. Most comfortable beds in the industry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by academy2 Comfortable beds; great gym!
This hotel was really welcoming, and the beds were really comfortable. The gym was far better than I've seen in most hotels. The decor in the hallways could have used some sprucing up, but otherwise it was a great experience.

SPG club level service for evenings should at minimum run from Mon-Fri. It' s not offered during holidays or Friday's. This should be advertised somewhere otherwise it's deception. The concierge staff, room cleanliness and the view at this property were spectacular.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ksk17 In need of a total make-over and a good cleaning
This hotel is old and tired. The entire hotel needs a make-over. The public spaces are not being kept clean. The same litter was in the hallways all three days of our stay.
The noise levels both from within and out make it a very undesirable place to get any rest.

I had a good stay but checking out of the parking garage was a nightmare. It took almost an hour to get out of there. The garage area was super noisy and dirty. Hotel was pretty nice. The bed was super confortable. I would stay here again all things considered

Rated 3 out of 5 by DuluthJacket Lost my jacket
Left my jacket at the lobby lounge. Bartender said he turned it in to the front desk, but no one could find it over the final two days of my stay. My fault for leaving it on the back of the chair, but disappointing that it was picked up and then lost by the staff.

During my stay apparently there was a teenage mutiny at the hotel. 20+ minutes average wait for elevators, Teens running around the hotel unsupervised all hours of the day and night playing knock knock and running. I had to call to the front desk multiple times.

We had a wonderful stay in Philly doing all the usual tourist things. Mary, our trip advisor, really gave us some great information to make sure we did all the activities that were associated with our interests. Nice hotel, wonderful staff. Thanks to everyone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Titi The location is great but...
Average experience due to the fact that they have a big problem with elevator (20 minutes waiting time!).
Just not enough elevator for the amount of room.
Ben, restaurant gm, is an outstanding hospitality team member....make sure to meet him during your stay.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JNC10019 Hotel is just Ok Elevators are terrible!
I have never been in a facility where the elevators were this atrocious. Each trip was an adventure in futility and frustration. It was so bad we stayed away from the room or the bar and restaurants in fear of having to use the elevators. Sad SPG Experience!

Rated 4 out of 5 by SalesDG Nice amenities
The hotel offers a gift shop, a terrific work out room, restaurant, bar, pool and more. The location is convenient and the staff was very accommodating.
This appears to be an older property and there is room for improvement on the rooms and meeting areas.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BowlinBando Sleep interrupted by unfriendly staff
I checked into this hotel very late in the evening due to plane delays. The staff was welcoming, even at such a late hour, and I went up to my room for a few hours of sleep. The next morning, at 8:30 am, there is a loud knocking on the door. Since I was tired, I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep. A few minutes later, there is another demanding knock on the door. When I open the door, it is the cleaning person, asking when I will check out. Now, 8:30 is in no way close to the checkout time, and I was not delaying her job by trying to get my rest. So my response is that I don't know when I will be checking out. She then demands an estimate of when I think I will be checking out. After a late night this was the last thing I wanted to deal with at 8:30 in the morning. After that encounter I begin to get ready for the day, since I was alerady awake. After about 20 minutes out of bed, I see a huge bug crawling where I had just slept. Not my idea of a friendly or clean hotel, and I will not be visiting any time in the near future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jackandjill27 This hotel has a good location and nice features
This hotel is convenient to museums and parkway with good bed and expected hotel features. The street level appearance is not nice from the city side where people approach walking from center city because they expect all customers to arrive from driveway.

Was charged for a cot that we didn't need. Had the wrong room when we arrived but they did handle the change quickly. The new room had a window that was cracked from top to bottom - a bit dangerous and not at all attractive! Never enough towels available.
