We have stayed at this hotel several times before in the past. But this time it was very disappointing. We were given a room on the 4th floor. When we walked in the room looked cleaned. However, when i looked up at the ceiling where the AC vent was blowing, you can see dirty dust ball hanging from the popcorn ceiling. What makes it worse is the location of all the dust balls were directly on top of the headboard area! If the Sheraton didnt advertise as PURE AIR in the room, I think it I wouldnt have made such a big deal, but the fact that they do I find it ironic. We did complain to the front desk and showed the manger the dust balls and says he will have housekeeping clean it up and gave us another room. The 2nd room we went to had the same issue as the first, however, the AC vent in the 2nd room was next to the desk/TV instead of the bed, the dirty dust balls on the ceiling were hanging on top of the TV instead of the bed.
Another thing we use to enjoy at this hotel was their pool. Also highly disappointing as well. Water was not as warm as it was and it was murky. Granted the pool was packed with kids, but I gather they would have been more diligent in cleaning and chlorinating it when the pool closed in the evening.

I am in Philadelphia frequently for business and I typically stay other Starwood properties in the area but this week I decided to try a different hotel. However in hindsight I wish I stuck to my usual hotels. I found my stay at the Sheraton Downtown Philadelphia to be very unsatisfactory. It started with check in. Firstly the front desk could not find my reservation even though I had my confirmation number. Then they tell me that the hotel is packed to capacity so even though I am a SPG Platinum member I was placed on a 1st floor room, not even an Preferred Guest floor. I understood and accepted that but when I got to my room it just felt unclean. There were small scraps of paper on the floor in the entryway and my bed was extremely lumpy. Still I forged on and decided to make my way to the club lounge on the 26th floor for an evening beverage only to realize that I was not given club room access as is standard for Platinum Preferred Guests so I had to make my way to the front desk to have this applied. Individually these things aren't much but together this just left a bad taste in my mouth. I believe everyone has a bad day so I am giving this branch one more shot on my next stay. However if this one is not up to par I WILL NOT be staying here again.
