Rated 3 out of 5 by RJMP Poor housekeeping
As I was rushing to get ready for a meeting I realized there was no shampoo or conditioner in the room- delaying me about 15 minutes to get to where I needed to be. I found a dirty towel that was not mine under the bed that made me doubt the cleanliness of the entire room. As part of a conference, the catering staff was very accommodating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Shan Location, comfort, but needs improvement in value for money
The Sherton commands an incredible location in central downtown Chicago - close to a Dominick's (Safeway) supermarket, banks, cafes, Lake Michigan, Navy Pier, and more, and is only a 15 minute walk from Clark/Lake stop on Blue Line ('L'-train).
The rooms are clean and comfortable, and if you manage to get a room on the river side, the views are wonderful.
Aside from location and essential comforts, however, the Sheraton is very expensive for what you get. Breakfast is not included, the main bar does not host a manager's special/happy hour, all of the on-site restaurants are extremely expensive, wifi costs a minimum of $13.95/night. A block from the Sheraton, in contrast there are options which offer a fantastic included breakfasts and a comped happy hours, and costs less per evening.
This is a great venue for a conference because it is very large and attractive, but do not expect to leave without dropping a lot of money on each meal and luxury.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Friday Worst Check in expeerience ever
For the last 30 years I have been booking blocks of rooms (at least 5) at least once and sometimes twice a year. When I checked in this time, the agent and manager gave me two options.
1) I can stay in the room they give me but I will need to move tomorrow or
2) They can get me a room at another hotel.
My loyalty meant absolutely nothing.

The staff was great at the Sheraton for my conference. My room was clean and the view was nice; I felt very comfortable. The only areas I see for improvement are the roughness of the towels (they need to be softer), the hallways to the rooms are in need of some freshening up, and the food served in the hotel eateries is much too expensive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by silkox This hotel has great features but...
Great location, really nice staff, etc., etc. I don't travel enough to know whether the loud music in the lobby/lounge area is industry standard, or whether having to pay >$10 for slow wi-fi in my room is normal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lotus This hotel's meeting facilities are top notch
The meeting rooms, meals and overal ambiance was great! The concierge was very helpful. My room though lacked cleanliness, the drawers and pullout were very dusty, the bathroom smelled musty and clearly had not been detail cleaned recently. My comforter had stains on it and dirt on the edges. I was also charged for a snack I did not eat.

While putting myself through college, I worked as a bellman in both convention and luxury resort hotels. So even though I had one bag and could have taken it myself, I tipped the doorman to have the bag taken to my room. I gave my ticket to the front desk and went to my room. I waited for my bag, but it never arrived. So I left more money on the bed and left the room to register for my conference. I then walked the river and made it back to the hotel a couple hours later. The bag had still not been delivered so I went to the lobby. The bellman's response was that they called my room three times but I did not answer. I know they did not deliver the bag to an empty room because they assumed there would be no tip involved. The same thing happened to my colleage in a different room. That's not the way I treated guests when I was in that position and was surprised to have it happen in such a nice hotel. Hopefully, this is something that can be addressed and not standard policy. I must add that upon check in, the clerk was very accomodating when I asked for a room with a river view. I was told the room had a walk in shower rather than it being handicapped equiped. Still, the view made up for it, but a better explanation would have prevented the moderate inconvenience.

Rated 3 out of 5 by KarinBR Little value for my money
1) Good location
2) average infrastructure for a hotel of that category
3) housekeeping is terrible, I even felt short on shampoo
4) staff is not polite, and not very helpful. Lots of empty smiles and empty "I'm sorry", but no real solution for any of the issues I needed

Rated 5 out of 5 by lisab great stay
Pleasant stay at the Sheraton. As a Platinum, I was upgraded to a beautiful suite with 2 bathrooms, living room, dining area and kitchen. Location of hotel is excellent. Valet parking a bit slow, just plan to call 15-30 minutes prior to arrange for your car. Will definitely stay here again. Shula's is a bit expensive, but well worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bill57 Wonderful hotel
We wanted to use our suite night upgrades, but since the hotel was sold out we could not redeem them. We had booked a traditional room using cash and points and we were upgraded to a deluxe room with a view of the city on one side and Lake Michigan on the other side. The staff was very attentive and our room was wonderfully unexpected.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AECanadian Front desk friendliness
All the staff were very friendly except for my dealings with the front desk. The person who checked me in did not smile. When my key became demagnetized, (I had stored in next to my cell phone), I was made to feel stupid when I went to get a new one. The only person who smiled at me was on check out. Maybe they were glad I was leaving?

Rated 3 out of 5 by Suzy112345 Great Staff - Room was just okay
The staff here are all very friendly and beyond helpful and the hotel location was excellenct!
The room was just okay. The temperature in the room was unstable at best. The bathroom seemed like it had not been cleaned or not cleaned well before we checked in. On the upside, the bed was comfortable. For the most part I enjoyed my stay.

Rated 3 out of 5 by disneyland Ascend Gala Dinner Service was disappointing
I had such a wonderful time and enjoyed every moment during my stay with your hotel until we went to the gala dinner. The waitress was rude and impatient. Although we understand this is a quite large event to manage, a bit smile on the face and a responsive answer could make a huge difference. It was clear that the waitress was not happy to come to work to begin with. There was no smile from the beginning. When we simply asked for hot tea, she seemed distrubed by this request and it took 5-6 follow ups to make this happen. It was unbelievable how rude she was during this period, she would cut off you when you were trying to friendly remind her and eventually threw the tea pot to the table and left without even asking everyone who would like to have the tea. I was shocked and quite disappointed. I hope this is one instance off and Sheraton will be able to show that not only it can serve all guests well but also it can handle big events like this well.

We booked 3 rooms in January for a stay in June..did not receive rooms on same floor as expected upon arrival. They moved us on day 2, an inconvenience for sure. Upon checkout 2 rooms had a credit balance which still has not shown on my credit card, but the 3rd room with a balance due has already been charged..i don't understand this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ToniCTravelAmeniti1 Excellent SPG service
This property has an awesome location, secluded enough, but close enough to the heart and vibe of the city.
Service was excellent from the moment of arrival.
SPG recognition was first class. Received automatic upgrade to Club level. Room on the 31st floor, Corner room, awesome view.
SPG is the best program.
Ask and you shall receive.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kelly1982 Poor Hotel, Great Staff
This hotel was horrible. The room was subpar compared to cheaper hotels in the evening. The room was bare and the everything in the room was cheap. Costs were cut everywhere, leaving an understaffed hotel. They didn't even refill shampoo/conditioner! This is not what you expect from an expensive hotel. I would never stay here again.

These was my second stay at the hotel. First the room was bigger then my first stay and I was so delighted. Second I had a great view to my left I had the lake and to my right was the river ,how cool is that. In my stay I was issued coupons for the bistro brunch and food and service was good. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

I love the location, great views and overall nice hotel. The Chicago Burger Company located in the hotel has great burgers!!
Not impressed with my room. It was really dusty with the bed next to the desk. Also could smell stale spilled coffee while lying in bed. Room needs a deep cleaning!
Overall I enjoyed my stay!

Rated 4 out of 5 by tara75zaf Communication between management and Staff
The staff was incredible, however, I had an incident with the front desk manager basically accusing me (a gold member) of being a liar) after spending nearly $2000 in the hotel and I was only disputing a $36 charge from a restaurant. We were given Sheraton vouchers for a convention that I was attending with my family while the club level was being renovated. The manager basically came out and said that the hotel knows nothing of this and that I was responsible for those charges. I told him that he could've easily verified what I was saying with ANY of the staff from the restaurant. There was over 8000 people at the conference and about 10% of them were using the vouchers in the restaurant, but he told me that it was impossible and that the convention must have set that up. However, I know what my voucher said and it was DEFINITELY a Sheraton voucher. Needless to say, I really didn't appreciate the insinuation that I was lying. It was extremely insulting.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Globalbusiness Adequate facilities, poor customer service
The hotel is located in a very convenient central Chicago location. All the sites are easily accessible. Customer service, however, was severely lacking. I called different service areas several times at different times of the day and no one answered. Also, to have rooms made up so late (4 p.m.) in the afternoon is problematic.

Close to the navy pier yet walking distance of the mag mile too. Concierge desk was wondeful--Paula was a great help. THey also have a shuttle to the Horseshoe casino in Hammond, IN. From our window we could see the various tour boats ride by. Yet this hotel is quiet and not noisy at all. Everyone was so friendly and professional.

Check in was terrible. Was told room would be ready at 3pm. Went to front desk at 4pm and still not ready. They were going to have me keep waiting for room until I told them I would not, I was told 3pm so finally found me a different room. Key and tv did not work in room when got there. Twice during stay room key would not work.

The best thing about my stay here was the bedding. I couldn't believe they didn't offer free Wi Fi. McDonalds offer free Internet service. The staff cleaned my room but there were trays left out in the hallway for 3 days. Drunken guest were allowed to sit in the lobby with beer cases on top of tables. Just an awful experience.

We stayed here for a family trip to Chicago. Hotel was easy to find and centrally located to the attractions we wanted to visit. The hotel staff was awesome! They were very helpful with giving us directions around town. Room was a little smaller than expected but beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel in the heart of downtown Chicago. Walking distance to most major attractions downtown. You may need to take a taxi to any one of the CTA subway stops, however. Nice, spacious rooms with views of Lake Michigan. Friendly staff, great SPG program recognition, and all around great service. I would recommend this hotel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sylverjak Comfortable stay, but...
...the a/c was locked and couldn't cool the room below 68 degrees. The hotel was very nice and comfortable to be sure. The room was nicely appointed was a nice respite from the day's activities. My only complaint is that the A/C didn't get cooler than 68degrees - made for a very warm nights sleep with just the cover sheet.

We will definitely stay at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers when we return to Chicago. Thank you for your wonderful hotel.

Rooms need to be freshened up - renovated especially the washrooms. View was great from the 15th, river side. They need to add shower caps and bathrobes in these rooms - when you pay that price you expect these utilities as a standard. Bar downstairs is great meeting area before going out for dinner and after.
