Rated 3 out of 5 by The hotel is in a nice location. We have stayed at this hotel several times, specifically around the Christmas holiday. The view of the Chicago River and skyscrapers from our room is spectacular. However, the biggest disappointment was the breakfast buffet on Saturday morning. We were told it was not running full service due to a conference with 3000 people in attendance. We have gone to this hotel year after year for our annual holiday celebration and my young boys along with myself were SO disappointed. If things like this are not running full service, it should be noted on the website or via an email. The breakfast buffet is otherwise spectacular, and it was definitely a downer to this trip. I did not complain, as there was no point of it. December 23, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Unsatisfactory Long lines when checking in. Understaffed Hallway was dirty and lots of room service trays outside and walls were dirty with possible food stains! Room was not as pictured. Old bathrooms. Amenities of lower standard than presented with reservations and advertisements Huge water surge at 530am waking me up. Came from overhead and later found out you were renovating on the floor above me 800am and I am trying to sleep after the rude awakening of water above me and the phone rings. It is an automated recording to tell me to stay on the line. Someone will be right with me. Verified with the front desk this was not an emergency or wake up call. Merely a computer glitch I had the worst nights sleep and hated walking through your hallways. The lobby seemed to be where you put your money I also talked with your manager and she did give me $50 credit. In hindsight I should not have even paid anything as this experience was the worst one of any hotel and I travel a great deal December 23, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Park somewhere else Everything was great.... however I think it's obscene to charge your GUESTS $50 a day to park. I think it's insulting to charge a guest who's paying a premium price to stay, for parking at all (minus a valet tip/surcharge) let alone $50. I don't care that it's "in Chicago" where everything is expensive, I think it's in poor taste. We paid an initial $25 for the valet & a partial day upon arrival & ended up leaving the car at Mcormick Place all week. Even with cab fare back to the hotel every night added in, it was still cheaper than the Sheraton. Also there needs to be signage underneath the building to direct guests how to get to the top level where the main entrance/valet is. We drove around under the hotel for 40 minutes trying to find our way & w/o a GPS signal, it was maddening trying to find our way. Bed was comfy though. December 23, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fantastic staff Fantastic staff. Very knowledgable and helpful. Free wireless Internet was fantastic. Elevators were quick. Concierge have walking directions to nearby restaurants. We had some issues with noise from other rooms. Overall this is a beautiful hotel. December 23, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing The only staff that met my expectations were the maids and Con. Desk. I would not recommend staying here. December 23, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 Wonderful staff I loved my room at the Sheraton, but I was most impressed by the way I was greeted upon check-in. The staff was so warm and friendly. I also got some great tips on restaurants while I was there. December 22, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great View Our Executive Suite's view of the Chicago harbor and river were great. With the Club Level closed, the hotel could have used more servers at the Java Bar on Friday, 12/13/12, as it was not possible to use our vouchers given to us due to the Club Room not being open. Rated 5 out of 5 by great room- nice and quiet We had room 2650 Sheraton Hotel & towers in Chicago and would love to know where to buy the white desk lamp that was next to the phone? It was a curved very modern task lamp- our stay was as always, quiet and wonderful bed! December 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice as always I have been attending the ISBA event at this hotel for many years and have stayed there at other times as well. It is always very comfortable with excellent service December 19, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by This hotel is in a great location The location is great with easy access to Michigan Ave and Navy Pier, both of which are within a short walking distance. We were upgraded to a supposedly newly remodeled room, which was directly across from the elevator on the 26 floor. The view was wonderful, but the upgraded room was only a normal standard room, did not appear to have been newly remodeled and I didn't like the proximity to the elevator. We ordered room service for dinner and I thought the menu was very limited and the person who delivered our food was rude. Our TV reception was extremely poor and continually said "no satellite reception" except for local channels. We were able to watch a "paid" movie without any problems. I did like the workout facility because it had more than the usual bicycles, elipticals, treadmills and weights. It had machines for legs and arms. December 19, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Friendly staff My check-in experience, from the valet to the front desk to having my luggage brought upstairs was very positive, with friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, my room key was disabled first thing the next morning, and I had to return to the front desk to have the problem fixed. Fortunately, I was given a new key and was back up in my room within minutes. December 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great staff Friendly staff. Very clean. Great location. December 18, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by did not like the minibar setup We were not aware of INSTANT charges on mini bar usage. Luckily the staff removed the charges, but the setup is unfair for the guest who cannot read the small outside print December 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel keeps improving I have been coming to Sheraton Towers Chicago for many years. I was living in Chicago when it opened and have stayed often since I moved away. It is up to date. It is clean and very comfortable. It is convenient to the loop and Michigan Avenue, but with a great view of the lake. December 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Hotel - Some Details to Cover The hotel was lovely, and every staff member I met was very accommodating and solicitous. One detail in the room . . . not enough creamer / coffee cups for two people. I had to make a trip to the LB Cafe from the 20th floor for another coffee cup / creamer. Perhaps some coffee cups / extra creamer near the ice machine is a good idea, as that was a little annoying. December 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Sheraton: A Wonderful Place to Stay! On my wife's insistence we stayed with you on December 14, 2012. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. At check in we were wowed by Brian's cheerfulness and willingness to do anything and everything necessary to make our stay a good one. He even offered us a round of drinks! Our lake view room was beautiful and immaculate. The sound proofing is excellent. We never heard a sound. Will we be back? You bet !!! December 18, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by this hotel needs a new food manager. this hotel needs more dining options at reasonable prices and longer hours and more variety in lunch menu. try to get lunch at 1:30 pm after a morning of travel! December 18, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed I was somewhat disappointed by the attention to detail I had expected at this hotel. When we arrived to our room, several trays from room service were in the hallway, especially outside my room. They were still there later in the evening after we returned from dinner. We also requested more towels from the front desk, which we received, however they were thrown in a pile on our bed when we returned. December 18, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by A total disaster We checked in during the day on Thursday, December 13, 2012. All day long there was the sound of a jackhammer doing heavy construction on the room above ours. We were told it would end at 4 PM. Then, after calling to complain, someone from the hotel came and asked us to empty all of the snacks out of our snack tray. I thought they were going to be a gift to compensate for the noise. Instead, we were being asked to empty out the snack tray because two days later on Saturday a group of young people were going to be moving into our room and they didn't want them to eat the candy. It provided me with a memorable story that I can recite when people ask me why never stay at the Sheraton Chicago anymore. The wireless Internet signal is nonexistent in most of the common areas. Frankly it's better at every budget hotel I've ever stayed in. This is not a good place to stay on business. December 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Top rated overall This hotel has it all. Beautiful rooms, excellent location, fabulous staff. It is my first hotel choice for business and pleasure in Chicago. December 17, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 Most disappointing stay in a great location It started out upon check in, no room upgrades and club lounge was closed. The front desk check in was fine and a very friendly staff member checked us in. Since the lounge was closed, vouchers were given for the LINK and Java Bar - a nice touch (I thought). The rooms were not upgraded, and not even on an SPG or club floor. The rooms were small, very low ceilings, and couldn't hardly even turn around in the bathroom. I did however notice the 3 long pieces of hair in the shower.....Simply Gross. Upon pulling the sheets back, while they were clean, they were ripped.....Tacky at best. The folio under the door was incorrect, I did not eat a can of pringels for $6.95 (99 cents at the store). I went down to use the vouchers at the LINK. I got two salads, a sandwich, two pariffites, and two cups of coffee - $52.00 (according to the sign outside should have been $34.00. I was not given a receipt. When I questioned the clerk she said she gave me a receipt. Then she showed me two receipts (why two??) that did not have the items I ordered. I gave up and walked away. Went up to Java Bar to use the other vouchers for 4 soda's. Was informed by the bartender he didn't open for 20 minutes, so he would not serve us! I was shocked. The housekeeping manager was standing there, and asked if he could help. I was very impressed it was not his department, but he got very involved very quickly. He called the front desk and had the overcharge from the LINK removed from my bill. Nice gesture on his part. When I checked out, the front desk guy was very friendly and seemed upset when I informed him with all the issues we encountered on this stay. He removed the pringles from the bill, and verified the credit from the LINK overcharge. He asked if there was anything he could do or if he could call the general manager. I said no, what was the point, it was just a disappointing stay. The front desk gentleman said he had noted my Platinum number and would bring my concerns forward to management. I told him I hoped my stay in March of 2013 would go smoother. I will give the hotel one more chance,.....stay tuned, I will report how the four rooms are in March of 2013. This was a most disappointing stay. But to end on a positive note, the hotel is in a GREAT location. The place has potential - hopefully the property will take a hard look at itself and make the necessary changes. December 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful stay I spend between 40 and 50 nights per year in hotels. I must say there are none that compare to the service I receive at the Sheraton. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel special. The accommodations and location are terrific but what separates this hotel from others is the caring attitude of the employees. December 14, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent location and good value I was not disappointed by the excellent service, provided first by a young man at check-in. The fitness center is more than adequate with plenty of cardio machines and room to stretch--something I often find lacking. The location is convient to much of downtown Chicago. I appreciated the opportunity to forgo having the room serviced in exchange for a $5 voucher. December 14, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by In room technology During our stay, the television needed technicians three times. When you turned it off and then on later, the picture would freeze and not change channels...The solution was to unplug it and plug it back in. We eventually just did this ourselves. Seems the tv would have been switched out. Also, our mini-fridge never worked the whole length of stay. We were told by a technician it would be replaced but it was not. December 14, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by A little disappointed I have attended the coference over many years at the Sheraton. This is one of the first years I was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail. In the past I would have considered my stays "perfect". Here are areas that need improvement: 1. When I checked in to the SPG counter late afternoon, I asked for a rollaway for the first night. Returning from a late dinner and shopping, the rollaway still wasn't there. A call got it there within a half hour. 2. There were no tea bags or coffee pods any day for my single mug coffee dispenser. 3. When I went to take a shower, there was the previous guests' dirty soap bar in the soap dish. 4. My body lotion the first night was half empty. 5. Upon check-in there were no washcloths in my room and I had to call for them after I'd already called for the rollaway at bedtime. 6. My SPG amenity choice was charged to my bill...internet service; upon checkout I had to have it credited back to me. I think these issues make the difference between a "good" stay and a "great" stay. I hope when I return next year...I will see an improvement. Thank you, C. Horn December 14, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by WiFi areas lacking I wish there were more areas where I could get on WiFi other than the main lobby and the small Link area, which was always very crowded because of the conference attendance. December 14, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent place to stay Nice hotel; the rooms were comfortable and pleasant. I would have preferred a service option that would allow me to decline room cleaning BUT still provide additional coffee and tea in the room. Minor point. Overall it was a great place to stay, near everything in a walkable part of the city. Blocks from Navy Pier and the Miracle Mile. Recommended. December 14, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Chicago Experience My stay at the Sheraton was remarkable. The Sheraton team was helpful, willing to assist and met my needs. I would highly recommend the Sheraton for your Chicago stay! December 14, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great location in the heart of Chicago This hotel is a great deal for the location. You're close to just about everything you need. My favorite part: the men outside that hail your cabs and help you get into the hotel. They are so warm and kind, it's a great way to start the stay. Beautifully decorated for the holidays! December 14, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Conf Hotel except the wi-fi This hotel was great for our recent conference, except that the wi-fi access in the conference area was really spotty. It caused significant problems for the presenters in one of the sessions I attended and was barely usable for the attendees. December 14, 2012
