Rated 5 out of 5 by DetroitTraveler8 Great experience!
I stayed at the Sheraton for a conference and had an incredibly positive experience! The staff was wonderful. My room was ready for an early check-in, which I was especially grateful for after an adventurous trip into Chicago. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays! The only minor issue I had was that the water did not drain well in the shower. I left items behind in the hotel and the staff promptly found them and helped ship them back to me. Overall I had an incredibly positive experience and will definitely be back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JanetK Friendly Staff & Clean Hotel
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the last year. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The beds are extremely comfortable! It's very centrally located to navy pier, shed aquarium & shopping. I will definitely stay here in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DaBearz Clean quiet room at good rate
My wife got a great deal on a room with riverside view. This is a great place to stay close to mich ave shopping, navy pier, chicago's annual kristkindl market in the loop. Clean comfy beds, clean bathroom, quiet room. Room service dinner was pricey but good food served hot and on time. Minuses: the indoor pool was cold and we were charged twice for self-parking. I am working with Sheraton's courteous billing dept about the parking issue.

The Sheraton is our favorite place in Chicago to stay! They once again provided us with a room to view the parade and fireworks from the room which is awesome for our grandchildren. A couple of areas of disappointment were the pool was freezing and very disappointed that there were no Christmas trees/decorations up for the weekend which for the past 15 years we have been coming they were up. My only wish would be that the "United Nations" that takes place during this weekend be moved to a different weekend because the hotel is soooo crowded and the kids are so loud in the hallways in the evening.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bride0707 Brides - Don't use this hotel!
As a bride-to-be, I was hoping for a great experience which is why I went with a SPG property. I have been a loyal SPG guest for over 5 years. However, the Sheraton Chicago was a disappointment for many reasons: the staff was not nice to my guests or me during booking the rooms, the person assigned to my block was not responsive, different staff members told me different information about costs associated with the rooms, they confused the booking options leaving many of my guests going elsewhere even though my block was NOT full, the staff helping our parents try to host events in their suites was hard to get not responsive, check in was a nightmare (over an hour wait), staff that was unable to answer basic questions (such as if my room was still free the night of the wedding as promised), staff that was extremely rude in the concierge lounge, incorrect charges on my bill that were difficult to get removed... the list goes on and on. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed as it was supposed to be a great experience as a bride. However, more than that, I am embarrassed because I encouraged my guests to stay at your hotel only to be treated rudely.

Not enough people working and people that did work were not helpful. Long wait for check in and request for engineer was ignored until I indicated smell of smoke on third telephone call. Heat never worked.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Janara big hotel, pretty lobby, horrible room
The floor we were on and the room we were in was like a dungon. Very dark and dank, old and right out of the 70's with it's deep brown paint and dark gold plastic basketweave wall paper.
The sheets and comforter were soiled on one of our beds, the call for new ones took 3 calls to guest services over a 6 hour period and finally a trip to the front desk at 12 am, with an addition 45 min. wait. The request to move to a different room was denied after we first inspected our room after our 3 pm check in and the wait to check in was about 1 hour. The bathroom was tiny and old, the door was pealing and there was mold between the tile. The only coffee other than room service or the resturant was at a Starbucks kiosk and it was horrible with grounds in it. The room service we orded for breakfast was also bad. The bagels were burnt, the pastries were tasteless and the milk was not cold. The only thing positive about the stay was that the view was of the river. I paid cash and points for this room and wonder if that is why it was so bad. I will never stay here again or ever recommend it to friends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rainbow59 A little disappointed
I have attended the coference over many years at the Sheraton. This is one of the first years I was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail. In the past I would have considered my stays "perfect". Here are areas that need improvement:
1. When I checked in to the SPG counter late afternoon, I asked for a rollaway for the first night. Returning from a late dinner and shopping, the rollaway still wasn't there. A call got it there within a half hour.
2. There were no tea bags or coffee pods any day for my single mug coffee dispenser.
3. When I went to take a shower, there was the previous guests' dirty soap bar in the soap dish.
4. My body lotion the first night was half empty.
5. Upon check-in there were no washcloths in my room and I had to call for them after I'd already called for the rollaway at bedtime.
6. My SPG amenity choice was charged to my bill...internet service; upon checkout I had to have it credited back to me.
I think these issues make the difference between a "good" stay and a "great" stay. I hope when I return next year...I will see an improvement.

We were delighted with our stay! Our only negative was the first room hadn't been cleaned. The front desk apologized and sent us to a great room right away! The hotel is first class!

Rated 2 out of 5 by visitfromLA Only thing "great" about this hotel is its location
I am not kidding when I say this, the walls in my hotel room might as well have been paper thin. I could hear every word of the conversation of the people in the room next to me. Also my room was very close to the elevators, so I could hear every ding and door open upon its arrival on my floor (32nd floor). This made my experience extremely uncomfortable. The view however from my room was quite nice and the king sized bed was extremely comfortable so no complaints there. You can't beat the location of the hotel either. I enjoy walking and there's more than enough to do for any lifestyle within walking distance of the hotel. A staff member made a mistake upon check-out of the parking charge that I didn't know until I was confirming with valet and I ended up owing more money because of a foolish front desk mistake, which was very inconvenient. So unfortunately with all the other options of hotels in that immediate area, I will not be coming back to this hotel on my next trip to Chicago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LoveIAM AWESOME!
I was with 2 employees for the Allscripts ACE conference. Much like Denver the hotel was OVER THE TOP and I truly felt like the entire staff were happy we were guests. I saw an employee empty a super-full trash can in the Starbuck's and it was obvious that they are an independent vendor. And she was training a new hire as well! The only "issue" I have is with the gift shops which are independently owned and they are less than stellar, certainly not the experience I had with other staff. The lamp shade was on the dresser because it was broken and the shower faucet was VERY hard to pull on, and loose from the wall. Otherwise perfect experience!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KathyH Great place to stay while in Chicago
We loved our stay at the Sheraton. Great location. Wonderful view of the river and all the buildings, boats and activities going on around us. It is close to all the activities that downtown Chicago has to offer. Other than the guy hailing cabs for people, all the staff were very helpful and GREAT.
Chicago Burgers - great place to eat. Restaurant in lower level NOT good and way too pricey!! Would NOT recommend. Can't even make a decent cup of coffee! Well below Sheraton standards.
Oh yeah... get wireless internet in the rooms - this is the 20th century!! I shouldn't have to sit in my pjs in the lobby to have access to my family back home!!

My hotel room was extremely noisy! At 5:30 A.M. I was awakened by a baby crying in the room next to mine. I could hear men urinating (I assume men) in a room "close" to mine. Everytime the water ran or a toilet flushed in other rooms I could hear them! Talking and "normal" noise was heard in my room and some construction noise was also heard. The maid service was substandard. I had to look for the "service people" for a roll of T.P. (no extra roll left in the room.) No sugar or cream after my first day. (I finally bought cream from a convenience store.) The duet cover had a "suspect" nasty spots on it. Bed was terrific and very comfortable!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jen22 Reconsider offering handicapped rooms without full explanation
We were offered a handicap accessible room and did not realize how much smaller and different the bathroom set-ups were. The shower was walk-in, and the shower head was very low. My husband is 6'5 and checked in with me when we were offered the room! We also had 3 guests (2 dbl beds) and only 1 vanity. Again, staff should have realized that offering an accessible bathroom wouldn't be the best option for us.
Also, the drinks at the bar are a little pricey. 20 dollars for two beers!
Finally, the room next door was incredibly rowdy at 2:00-3:00am, and it took two phone calls to get security to address the issue. Not very efficient response time!

Rated 2 out of 5 by DiissatisfiedTexan Needs Improvement
Despite having booked my room 2 months in advance, my room was not available when I arrived. I waited over 2.5 hours for my room to become available (along with at least 5 other people who were in the same situation) causing me to miss my conce sessions (reason for being there). Keys became available immediately upon complaining to the conference coordinator who pushed the hotel management to move. Bad, bad service and I just BET that the will end up charging my credit card for the $7 bottle of water I drank while withering away from dehydration while waiting for my room. Hotel food is AWFUL. (Great view of Navy Pier from my room, though.)

From the moment I walked into your hotel I was greeted with a smile and asked if they could carry my bags for me. As I was checking in hundreds of marathon runners were checking out so it was very busy but the front desk did not miss a beat. The "can do" attitude of your team continued until I checked out several days later. Another bonus, the rooms were very comfortable and clean. I would highly recommend this hotel.
