Rated 3 out of 5 by JNA1 A Sheraton of many surprises
Bleary-eyed from a long-haul flight I could hardly comprehend the appearance of the Chongqing Sheraton. Someone selling golden-coloured surface coatings must have been super-persuasive. Quite beyond belief, everything from the exterior statues to bedroom telephones gleam.
I was impressed with the hotel transfer service, the early check-in and excellent SPG recognition, with an upgrade to a river-view one bedroom suite of perhaps 250 square metres.
The hotel was not particularly busy, however food and beverage service was below expectations. Staff were slouched, poring over their 'phones - rather than checking whether the guests dining had napkins, cutlery etc. The food quality was ordinary at best. It was a surprise to find tomato ketchup served with spring rolls in China. I would not recommend this property for the food and beverage experience.
On departure the front desk team and door staff really were trying their hardest to help support my travel arrangements, but my poor skills in speaking Chinese made this a protracted process.

Rated 1 out of 5 by TioJuan What a disappointment
The staff tries but it just isb't enough. Guest smoking in elevators, most elevators smelled like smoke, cigaret buts all over the place. Ordered room service as arrived as restaurant closed. Only time in my life I had to call to complain! Chicken Club sandwich was disgusting, brought cold ham instead, no French fries but about 10 breakfast potatoes that tasted like they were fried in year old grease. 27th floor and could hear traffic below. Staff tried but need much more training. Advertises heated pool... Yea right'. No spa as it was out of service.... A bit away from center of city.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rgzap Hotel with amazing view
The hotel is a standard Sheraton - conservative style yet grand.
The suite is quite large in size and has an amazing view of the CBD area. In comparison to the other two SPG hotels in the area, this hotel's location is much more better. It is near a shopping mall and also close to a very nice promenade.
The staff are generally friendly but English is still a challenge - except for the ladies at the Club lounge. In one occasion, I almost needed to go downstairs to show the menu to order in-room dining after two unsuccessful efforts over the phone.
Overall, I am satisfied with the stay and would likely come back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Benj09 Luxury decoration might shock you
The decoration of this sheraton is so not sheraton style. Don't surprised when you get there. Too much gold stuff..
Excellent reception staff, who provided me an upgrade to a spacious suite (probably best ever) and with stunning river view.
