This used to be one of my favorite hotels but standards are definitely slipping. There was an upgrade to a Club Floor room but the Club Lounge was only open for one of the days in our 3-night stay. The room was good in that it was one of the rooms with two sinks. However, there were very bad stains on the carpet. This is not the first time that this has happened at this hotel. Lounge service on the one night that it was open (Thursday evening) was good as was breakfast on the Friday morning. Breakfast on the other two mornings in the main restaurant was average, at best. Dinner for two nights, Friday and Saturday, was spoilt by other guests running wild in the lobby area.. This was true particularly for the Saturday night which was a special dinner for our 46th wedding anniversary. The noise level was very high and the kids were all over the place and pizza was brought into the restaurant and lobby area from outside. The quality of the food is great but the ambiance leaves much to be desired. Special thanks to the Chef for making crab cakes for my wife on the Friday night, although they were not on the current menu. Despite its many pluses, I am wondering whether this hotel will continue to be on my recommended list.

Our first choice when in Detroit, this property was recently renovated and is well-maintained. Located in a safe, quiet suburb of Detroit withy shopping plaza, restaurants and groceries conveniently nearby. Note that Novi is quite a distance from downtown.

Stayed on a Monday night then again that Wednesday. First night room was dirty and bathroom had dried urine on the tolet.
Wednesday night (late check in)was suppose to be club floor king no smoking. Arrived, they gave our room away. Was told that it's first come first serve. Got a regular room and once again the room was dirty and had not been vacuumed, large stains on carpet and walls. Charged us $230.00 + tax.
We are SPG members and we were treated like dirt by staff. They said that they cater to business people, not regular people.
Definitely will also be in touch with American Express.

Compared with the stays I was in this property for the last years, the service level dropped significantly.
Although the Club Room was bookable online, the club will be closed during the weekends. Be aware! This is the new policy.
Housekeep was bad- lots of issues, like hairs on tub surface, etc.

Was on an unexpected trip due to my father being ill. The staff at this hotel was warm, friendly and so very helpful. Unfortunately my father passed away while I was there and the staff did their best to no only extend my stay but to get me the best rate possible to help me out. Hope to return for a more enjoyable trip in the future

Professional and helpful staff members. However, this hotel room was extremely noisy. There was loud and horrible noise coming from the bathroom fan. In addition, the room had connecting door, that basically could not keep any noise from the adjacent room. I called the front desk to complain about the noise. The staff member was very kind and professional, She tooled me that the engineer has left for the night and there isn’t much they can do. They did offer to change my room but it was too late at night and I didn't have the energy to change room.
This could be a really lovely place to stay, but the rooms really need proper soundproofing.

Let me start off by saying that my experience working with the Shearton- Detroit Novi was Amazing and my event was Epic thanks to their assistance. The customer service was exceptional and made my experience as event chair virtually painless. Staff responded to all my request and worked with me personally to resolve any issues.
