Rated 3 out of 5 by poor example The hotel desk staff was wonderful. They even corrected a reservation error by the reservation dept. Room seemed dingy when we entered, but was clean. The TV didn't work properly. Channels came on then lost signal. We were upgraded into another room. thank you, but the tv still had channel problems. Hotel staff was always friendly. October 15, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Shakes & rattles Room overlooking the train tracks, and in direct proximity of the elevator's machinery. Industrial views and noises all night long. It did not help that two of my colleagues trusted my advice to book in the same hotel, and ended up in the same situation. Having been a Starwood member for years was not even acknowledged. Rated 4 out of 5 Noise! I happened to be in Palo Alto during a chilly period. The in-room heat worked well, but it was so loud that it repeatedly woke me up when it cycled on. In addition, plumbing noises (I think from upstairs) were also incredibly and disturbingly loud, and any conversation in the hallway sounded like it was occurring inside the room. January 17, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Basic, clean hotel Stayed a few days to attend a funeral. First impression could be better - the staff at check in counter was inattentive and didn't bother if you were SPG or not. The room was clean and comfortable. Service and food selection at Club Lounge is the best feature. The person who ran the evening shift there was friendly and attentive. August 22, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Quietly Perfect! I was surprised how clean and quiet our room at the Sheraton Palo Alto was. The short walk to the award winning Reposado was so convenient.Also, the hotel was directly across from Stanford. We will definitely stay at the Sheraton again. Thanks!. July 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Missing the little extras. I have come to expect the little things like a room refrigerator, free internet and free parking,. I was a little disappointed that i had coffee for 2 guest but only 1 creamer and very little sugar. I tried to make and drink the coffee but not enough sugar /cream. Its these little extras that make a hotel really stand out. December 30, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nothing Special for Price Stayed for 2 nights. The plumbing is extremely loud when the room above turns on the shower. Easily loud enough to wake someone up from a dead sleep. After waking up on the 2nd morning I noticed tiny bugs on the pillow cases. Cleanliness definitely needs some fixing. Given the price, you wouldn't expect these things. March 15, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Room Service forgot about me I ordered room service for breakfast the following morning. 20 minutes after the expected time I called to find out they totally forgot. Lack luster appology. Love the location of this hotel but with the noisy rooms and now undependable room service it is hard for me to rebook this hotel for my next trip to the bay area. July 14, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not what I expected from a Sheraton We recommend hundreds of guests to the Palo Alto Sheraton as it is our preferred hotel for our local business. I live locally but needed a place to stay as the heat went out in my home. I called the hotel to make a reservation with a gift certificate I had. After 2 days of calling and leaving messages I was finally able to make a reservation (I was told ONLY 1 person at the hotel was authorized to make reservations for gift certificates). I then called to see if the room had a microwave and was placed on hold for 17 minutes. Upon my arrival, I checked in and unpacked. I started to fill the Jacuzzi and BROWN water filled the tub. I drained the tub and tried it again. After letting the water run for 10 minutes, the water was still brown. Defeated, I decided to crawl in bed and watch TV. After the cable lost signal 3 times, I gave up on that too. I was truly disappointed that this is the hotel I have been recommending to our customers. I expected more from a Sheraton. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great staff and great location, but.. Staff and location at this hotel are unbeatable. Staff will do anything to help your stay and make it more comfortable. And, the room itself was a nice, comfortable room. Only problem was that there were far too many gnats in the room flying around. Not sure where they were coming from, but it was a little annoying. Rated 2 out of 5 by Unsatisfactory After a long day, my wife and I checked in here. I brought the bags up to our room an went to park the car. I returned to find that my wife had to call housekeeping to change the linens on the bed. While she was on the phone, the person on the other end had asked my wife to investigate what it was on the sheets. July 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great staff and location I visit Silicon Valley several times a year, and the staff at the Sheraton Palo Alto is always great. They are very helpful and kind, everything just works fine. They always anticipate my needs and accommodate my requests. The location is also very convenient. University Ave has great restaurants and shopping. April 1, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bad night sleem The beds were uncomfertable had a bad night sleep. I had to lay on 4 other beds to find a bed that didnt creep then they exchanged the bed with other bed from other room then that night had a great night sleep. I wish we would have gotten a complementary anything or taken off the parking charge of our car October 28, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very disappointed with this hotel Booked 6 rooms for a family function. The reservations were not correct on any of them upon check-in and each of us spent 15-30 minutes trying to resolve the issue. Paid for self-parking. The keys didn't work to get in and out of the parking lot and when the help button was pressed there was no response. June 22, 2012

Valet service was below average..didn't open car doors or shut them behind you..just handed you your keys..had to hold down handles to flush toilets and kids channels on cable were not available for four full days..not sure if they are ever available.. The layout is convenient, the fitness room, pool area, room service and front desk make this always a very comfortable home away from home and the staff does their best to accomodate.. We really appreciate Oscar at the front desk. He is very curteous, helpful and accomodating. All in All, we feel like staying at the Sheraton is very relaxing, enjoyable and fun. October 6, 2012

Everyone from housekeeping, maintenance, restaurants and the front desk were so helpful. They went over and above to make mt stay comfortable. Lots of properties have great amenities; it's how guests are treated that makes the difference. I travel to the Bay area frequently and this hotel has become my favorite in the area. July 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Location but dreary inside. Great location. Across the street from Stanford and next to University Ave which is full of shops and restaurants. Hotel needs to be cleaned up. Halls are dark and look dirty. Wifi is not free. Parking is also extra.Rooms are clean. June 17, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Paulb83 Hotel rooms need upgrading, especially the bathrooms. The train noise is bothersome even with the double windows, The cost is very high vs what you get. There is not even a full restaurant onsite. The beds were very comfortable. June 18, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Cozy but not quiet The room was clean and the beds comfortable, but the hotel is not quiet. The doors slam when closed and the toilets are so loud you can hear them flush in other rooms! The people above us had a party and it was very loud. I told the woman at check out and she completely ignored me. October 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 Sarah is exceptional In a very trying time, family at Stanford hospital, Sarah helped ease the stress by going above and beyond in arranging a room for us and welcoming us. I cannot thank her enough. The room was quiet and the restaurant staff were very attentive. I will stay again thanks to Sarah. March 11, 2013

It is just far enough for a nice walk to build up an appetite and then shed some of the calories after a scrumptious ethnic food… November 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I loved staying here The location is excellent: easy access to downtown PA and Stanford and to hiking, biking and walking/funning trails. The grounds are beautiful and the bed-linen and pillows are a dream. Free bottled water and in-room coffee and tea service add to the pleasure of this place. July 30, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs Improvement Interior design of the hotel facilities and especially the rooms are outdated. Carpet and furnishings are much too dark. Furniture seemed a bit warn. A hotel of this ostensible repute should not charge Starwood members for internet. Outrageous. Self parking is a hassle. October 12, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Worst experience in a club room anywhere Clubroom attendant was extremely rude. The hotel management did a good job of addressing the problem, but hard feelings still linger. I will return to this hotel, but expect a much better club room experience. Will wait until that time to recommend Sheraton Palo Alto. July 7, 2012
