This stay marked the 50th time i have been at the Sheraton Maria Isabel, and unfortunately it was the worst visit of all.
Room 717 was antiquated; loud and smelly A/C (supposedly repaired when I asked, but not); although non smoking, you can smell cigarette smoke on 7th floor; room was not Sheraton-standard clean...

This used to be one of the premier hotels of Mexico City. I'm not sure whether it is lack of investment or lack of competence. I do know that when I go to a Sheraton, I do not expect a lack of hot water which is what I experienced on two of my six days at the hotel, and I expect a fully operating air conditioner in the room, which was not the case on my first night. The room service menu is very short. The premises are functional without being impressive. We just have to admit that this hotel has seen better days.

Nice location and surrounding, clean and comfortable room and friendly staffs. The sink was clogged and rather a slow internet connection, otherwise I will rate excellent.

The room smelled like melted plastic. the furniture was scratched and in dire need of new paint. the carpeting needs to be replaced. the hotel needs to be modernized and updated.

My primary maid took great crd of my room and any needs I had. The front desk staff were quick and responsive. The service staff in the lounge were excellent. The hotel is very luxurious and comfortable.

This hotel would be great if it gets a renovation. One of the elevators has been broken for months, and the doors are patched with low quality compressed wood planks. The hallways feel old and tired. The air conditioners in the rooms are extremely loud. Having said this, I stay frequently at this hotel because of its location and the great customer service from the staff. This hotel truly deserves an update to its facilities so it can be restored to the level it deserves and to match the great level of customer service it provides.

After staying mostly in Polanco, I decided to experiment with staying in Reforma and try our the Sheraton Maria Isabel. The rate was considerably less than that of hotels in Polanco so there was certainly no harm in trying.
The hotel is right across from the Angel of Independence monument, so very central. It's also right next to the US Embassy and lots of the bigger banks on Reforma. Most other interesting sites are however a rather longer walk or a cab ride away. There is a taxi stand right by the embassy (on the back of the side street), otherwise the bell boys will make you use the hotel taxis, which are expensive for shorter rides, but more comfortable and better value for the longer rides (Santa Fe, airport).
Check-in staff was helpful and I was upgraded to a corner suite, although from what I heard about the lack of proactive upgrades here, it might have had more to do with my platinum ambassador than the hotel's staff. As a platinum, I also had access to the Club Lounge.
The room was really massive, and was clearly two interconnected rooms, one of which was turned into a lounge area. It was however quite dated and tired looking, but again, altogether ok. Despite being on one of the busiest streets in town, I didn't notice significant traffic noise. One negative thing is that the minibar was empty and required a call to room service to have it filled up. Obviously, the whole point of having a stocked minibar is that you can help yourself whenever you feel like it, and not have to wait for someone to come up to your room...
I had room service on the first nice, and the food was surprisingly tasty, and good value. Drinks however were very poor value.
The Club Lounge was fine, with an extensive choice of food for breakfast, and somewhat scarce food choice for evening drinks. There is one complimentary drink per evening, although I found, irritatingly, this was not pointed out by staff: they would offer you a second, or third drink, and then bring you a bill as you were preparing to leave...
Pool is tiny, and the gym room is tucked away in a corner of the building, and despite being quite large, I didn't find any exercise mats. Also, they had possibly the world's flimsiest paper cups.
I probably wouldn't stay here again on accountof the dated rooms and the location, which is not for me, But if you have a specific need to be in that area, the Sheraton could be a cost-effective option.

This hotel swindeled me for 65.00 dlls. offered to pick me up from the airport, then billed me 65.00 dlls. for it. i was never told there was a charge for that. other than that the staff was awesome, great and safe location. very nice gym. A little dissapointed with my view of other buildings.

The Sheraton Maria Isabel is conveniently located and it's staff is very well trained to welcome its guests and to meet all their needs. Some of the decor looks a bit tired and needs updating, such as the carpeting and the halls of the hallways. But it looks like they are in the process of doing it. The new elevators are still not well synchronized and waiting is sometimes long. But overall, great hotel, and great staff. Congratulations to the General Manager for keeping customer service very consistent.

Wi-FI is poor at best! was lucky to have 1meg dowload speed,usually about 1/2 meg,, need to improve this specially when Starbucks is at least 5 times faster.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Maria Isabel. Its location is perfect and our room had the view of the Angel de la Independencia. Restaurants were within walking distance and public buses are just outside the hotel entrance.

This was second stay in this hotel, during the first one there was no power in the night from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM on the weekend for some emergency repair. I understood and accepted this one. But during my second stay same problem no power on the weekend between the same time. I was not able to sleep the whole night. When i complained there was no reaction from the staff. Also the room AC are very noisy.

The professional staff is the strength of the Maria Isabel. Front desk staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, recognize return guests (by name), and are enthusiastic and polite. I also commend the butlers and the cleaning staff for their kindness and professionalism.When I come to your hotel I feel like I am coming home.

Old World attentive service, glamourous hotel. Needs some updating and sound proofing from the constant demonstrations at the Angel monument across the street. Very service oriented staff, great gym, wonderful dining options in and around hotel on Rio Lerma. Very secure area next to the US Embassy.

I have miss read my alarm clock and ended up rushed out of the hotel and checking out without looking at the details of my room charges to catch my return flight fro Mexico City to Newark on 4/18/14 via UA 1064.
After I sat down, I have found out there is a 65peso mini bar charge which I have never used. My room was 927 which was cnaged from #931 after one night staying there. I hope somebody can rectify this error.

The hotel is rather tired and my rooms are never the same. Some times there is a coffee machine other times no. My last stay the coffee machine still had coffee in it and mold growing in the pot. That tells me it was not cleaned for days, not good
The room often has bulbs burnt out or missing. just very tired
