Rated 4 out of 5 by Once again, fantastic staffs Stayed here for 1 night as a layover last August 2014. The staffs here are excellent and very welcoming. This is what I like about this hotel. Everyone seem to greet you with a smile. Upgraded to a Jr. Suite as plat. upgrade. Got welcome drinks like juice and champagne sent to the room for plats. Room needs to be renovated. Or at least fix the air conditioner at it was so cold, not matter how high I cranked the thermostat up. Having said that, recommend this hotel because of their staffs. Very hospitable, friendly, and greets you with a smile. September 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent Stay Thank You Maria Isabel Staff for all the good work you guys did while i stayed with my family. Thanks a bunch again!!! September 22, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Their staffs is the reason I will come back again... Granted I wasn't upgraded to their best available room including standard suites upon check in, I would say that I will always like this hotel because of their front liners/platinum front desk staffs. They truly are one of a kind and very hospitable. Kodus to management for training their staffs properly. The reason why I rate this property as 4/5 is because the rooms are quite dated and the air conditioner gets really cold, even if I turned it up to 25 degrees. It would have been a perfect 5 stars if they start renovating their rooms. I will however recommend this hotel simply because their employees are truly one of a kind and a joy to interact with September 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice hotel! It was a very nice experience being a guest in this hotel. It's very safe and clean. The pool it's a great feature, especially because it's not common having a pool in the hotel in México city. The staff is the best, always responsive with a smile. The hotel is just right in front of the Independence Monument and the location is great for amenities, close to the historical downtown, and nice high profile shopping in Polanco. The taxi service is reliable if you don't want to explore by yourself walking through the nice Reforma Ave. In general, it was a great experience being at Sheraton, I will be back for sure! Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Location, but needs a facelift This hotel would be great if it gets a renovation. One of the elevators has been broken for months, and the doors are patched with low quality compressed wood planks. The hallways feel old and tired. The air conditioners in the rooms are extremely loud. Having said this, I stay frequently at this hotel because of its location and the great customer service from the staff. This hotel truly deserves an update to its facilities so it can be restored to the level it deserves and to match the great level of customer service it provides. July 19, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nothing Spectacular, But Nothing To Fault After staying mostly in Polanco, I decided to experiment with staying in Reforma and try our the Sheraton Maria Isabel. The rate was considerably less than that of hotels in Polanco so there was certainly no harm in trying. The hotel is right across from the Angel of Independence monument, so very central. It's also right next to the US Embassy and lots of the bigger banks on Reforma. Most other interesting sites are however a rather longer walk or a cab ride away. There is a taxi stand right by the embassy (on the back of the side street), otherwise the bell boys will make you use the hotel taxis, which are expensive for shorter rides, but more comfortable and better value for the longer rides (Santa Fe, airport). Check-in staff was helpful and I was upgraded to a corner suite, although from what I heard about the lack of proactive upgrades here, it might have had more to do with my platinum ambassador than the hotel's staff. As a platinum, I also had access to the Club Lounge. The room was really massive, and was clearly two interconnected rooms, one of which was turned into a lounge area. It was however quite dated and tired looking, but again, altogether ok. Despite being on one of the busiest streets in town, I didn't notice significant traffic noise. One negative thing is that the minibar was empty and required a call to room service to have it filled up. Obviously, the whole point of having a stocked minibar is that you can help yourself whenever you feel like it, and not have to wait for someone to come up to your room... I had room service on the first nice, and the food was surprisingly tasty, and good value. Drinks however were very poor value. The Club Lounge was fine, with an extensive choice of food for breakfast, and somewhat scarce food choice for evening drinks. There is one complimentary drink per evening, although I found, irritatingly, this was not pointed out by staff: they would offer you a second, or third drink, and then bring you a bill as you were preparing to leave... Pool is tiny, and the gym room is tucked away in a corner of the building, and despite being quite large, I didn't find any exercise mats. Also, they had possibly the world's flimsiest paper cups. I probably wouldn't stay here again on accountof the dated rooms and the location, which is not for me, But if you have a specific need to be in that area, the Sheraton could be a cost-effective option. Rated 2 out of 5 by Average and dated hotel I stayed at this hotel whilst on a business trip. Rooms are very dated and old fashioned. Bathroom looks tired and the bath is very difficult to get in and out of, specially for children and older guests. The whole hotel needs refurbishing to bring it to the 21st century. Internet is not free except in the lobby where you only get 2 hours complimentary use per day. Once you log in you can't stop it. Wifi should be available and free of charge for everyone. Overall a very mediocre hotel. The housekeeping staff, in line with most hotels, had complete disregard for the guests and were very noisy, banging doors and disturbing my sleep. The only positive thing about my stay was the breakfast buffet which had a nice selection of Mexican and international food. August 7, 2014
