Despite the fact that we had booked and paid for our two day, late departure reservation two months in advance, the hotel refused to honor our reservation with no explanation and tried to force us to use a hotel far away and much inferior in amenities. This reservation was for March 7 and 8, 2012.

I was dissapointed by the slow check in and check out process. They didn't have enough staff at front desk.

This was an average hotel at best. However, the staff at the front desk were very unprofessional. Two things. First my toilet was broken. I called guest services and told them I would be out of the room for 2 hours. They did not send anyone and then the front desk was condescending to me and questioning if I did something wrong. I spoke to the manager and he said that the staff were watching the world cup. Second, They tried to charge me an additional 19% VAT when my reservation said there were no taxes on my rate. Any taxes should have been included in that rate. It took a while for management to accept responsibility for the taxes. It was a disappointing experience. I do not believe this hotel is oriented toward frequent travelers who understand how hotels work. When I said we should call starwood and talk to them together they resolved my issues quickly. If I travel back to this City, I would find another option.

The hotel was currently undergoing repairs / rennovation. This was not announced prior to my stay or I would have chosen another hotel. The noise in the lobby was deafening and unbearable! The rooms are tired and in need of updating and refreshing. The outside pool areas were the best feature of the hotel and the saving grace for the facility at this time. I will not stay in the hotel again until work is completed and rooms are refreshed. Currently, the rooms have that "old, lived in smell" and the property just feels old.

We had an unexpected delay in our departure from Santiago after a cruise so we arrived at the Santiago Sheraton a bit flustered and upset. The front desk staff met us with smiles and offers of 'anything we can do to help' which instantly helped believe our nervousness. The entire facility was decorated beautifully and spotlessly clean. Our room was lovely and offered linens of high quality and a bed conducive to a good night's sleep. We ate a very tasty buffet breakfast in the outdoor restaurant and returned for afternoon drinks and snacks...perfect! In the evening we enjoyed the toasty fire pits located by the pool area - what a lovely way to end the day. I must say that as wonderful as the facility was, the staff was even better.

This is a great hotel located in Providencia, not to far from Santiago's downtown. Its in the nicer areas of town. Usually staying only at SPG hotels, It met my Starwood standards. The same quality of service and amenities you find at other top starwood brands, youll find here. Considering how expensive Santiago is, if you use your cash and points you get a great deal.
Internet is NOT free, parking is free I think. Also, make sure to use the black limo's in front of the hotels since they are more expensive. Just tell the bellman to get you a taxi or just wait for one down the hill they always come by.
Use the concierge to its fullest, have them call any of the local restaurants or local area attractions for you. Save yourself the money and trouble. The pool and restaurant area was amazing, great atmosphere it really felt like a tropical resort. Food is overpriced, but I just enjoy the sunny weather and ambiance.

During our stay on the 1st of May at the Sheraton Santiago we were not allowed to go into the car to get the car out due to a boy band being in the car park of the hotel. We were treated without respect and as delinquents, having to wait for more than 30 minutes before we could go down to the car park and out of the hotel. I don't understand how or why the hotel let a band take over the hotel completely not taking into account the guests. All I got after my complaint to the staff was"sorry". The stay was a birthday present for my daughter.
