When we arrived for check-in, we were advised that the water was off in the hotel. However, we were upgraded to a riverfront suite (although the desk clerk apologized for the stained carpets which were scheduled to be replaced). When we got back from our event, all was well with the water and we had good sleep. My husband was especially happy about finding chocolate milk in the club lounge We have stayed here before. My memory is that the food was good and reasonably priced, although the restaurant is a bit of a walk through the hotel. The payoff is a view overlooking the river.

Me and my family couldn't have asked for a better stay. We were sick off and on but the staff was friendly and very helpful. They went above and beyond! We loved it!

Even before our stay, things did not look good. We called and spoke with Angie. I asked if my SPG status would enable us to access the club lounge or receive an upgrade to a room that would include free breakfast. While I had received club access without even asking at a previous Sheraton stay (Novi, MI), she told me that I would not receive that. She also said that the hotel was very busy and an upgrade was extremely unlikely. In light of her comments, we spent the additional money to get a room on the club floor so that we could have breakfast. As it happens, upon check-in we learned that the hotel was actually quite empty and that we could have received an upgrade which likely would've led to free breakfast. An expensive mistake.
Our check-in experience was good and we learned there was a free shuttle into town (a nice bonus). Brian was very helpful and our room had a nice river view. We learned in the AM that breakfast in the club lounge only lasted until 9, which was a shame as we only arrived at 9:30 due to a rough night's sleep on our sagging and lumpy bed. In the afternoon we explained our bed and breakfast situations to the manager, Conor, who offered us another room and breakfast buffet tickets for the rest of our stay. Our second room was unfortunately an accessible room (the shower head only reached the top of my back) and the bed was no real improvement, but we appreciated their attempt to accommodate us better. We had very positive experiences receiving recommendations for restaurants and taking the shuttle (thanks, Mark and Frank). The wi-fi at the hotel is very frustrating - difficult to stay connected and slow to not functional even when you do seem to be connected.
As it was tough to sightsee without much sleep, we decided to depart a day early. Elizabeth at the front desk was very helpful assisting us in that process.
Overall, we would not really recommend staying here, but if you can sleep anywhere you might be fine, and the staff will do their best to improve your stay.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JimP1969 Rooms are dated and need refreshing
We checked in very late at night for a break from driving. Front desk clerk wasn't very helpful, wasn't at the desk when we arrived and didn't even mention my status other than to ask me how I wanted my award/amenity. Room had HORRID carpet, unacceptable, but it was so late I didn't want to complain and have to move rooms. I wanted 6 hours of sleep with no hassles but was very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cdandrea Just a quick note to say Sheraton Louisville Riverside employee, Mark, was great!
Mark is a staff member at the hotel, and I believe he also does some of the driving of the shuttle. But he also helped us in the lobby with planning our visit and making the most of our day at Churchill Downs. And it's greatly appreciated.
He is genteel, and an example of a real Kentucky gentleman.
Please thank him for us (my friend and her 4-year old daughter also stayed at the Sheraton... we were in town for the Kentucky Colonels weekend).

My Wife and I decided to stay at the Sheraton Jeffersonville for the rate and the close proximity to Louisville for our first anniversary. Aside from collecting payment information the staff seemed to be disinterested in providing even the simplest courtesy as to explain which direction we were to go to get to our room. Our room service was adequate and on time the first morning but the tray was not cleared by the staff outside the room even upon us leaving the hotel a day later. It seemed that engaging any of the employees for assistance was an inconvenience to the point that I felt I had somehow offended them. In addition to the poor service I discovered after returning home that my Sister had ordered my Wife and myself a bottle of champagne to be delivered to us by the hotel. I hope she gets her money back as it never arrived.

This has been the worst experience in the hospitality industry we have ever suffered. The general manager canceled our confirmed reservations without cause siting a concern with SPG. We have stayed at this hotel every year during the Kentucky Derby. The manager said they had problems with SPG for years. They cancelled all the Derby reservations and sent out form emails telling us we could be on a waiting list. This manager blames the problem on SPG. He could have easily seen our points have been paid every time and that we were repeat customers. This is inexcusable and unforgivable. I left a message for his boss. I doubt he even calls. We have contacted SPG and switched hotels. Never again.
