Stayed for a convention and the hotel has everything you could need - no need to have to venture out if don't really want to.

Good hotel. Recently I have used other hotels inside/outside USA. By comparison, Sheraton Dallas was a great business hotel.

THe hotel is convenient to the state fair park, it is easy to check in/out, and the rooms are always comfortable and clean.

The ceiling in my bathroom and in the meeting room leaked. The bathroom sink would not drain.

I do not recommend the restaurant. The fried pot roast was very dry and was not very tasty.
The ice tea was not fresh.

My first night went pretty well. The room was very nice, except for a lot of internal mechanical noises and a commuter train outside the window. The second night, someone was smoking in a nearby room, and it came right though my vents (especially the one in the bathroom). I was offered the opportunity to switch rooms, but having already been in bed for the night, I decided against moving at that time. A maid came up and sprayed a deodorizer instead. The next morning, the smoker struck again, and again I was told that "security would look into it". When I checked out a few hours later, I urged the staff member not to assign my room to anyone else until the smoker had been identified and my room had been fully fumigated (for the sake of the next guest). The staff member told me there was simply nothing they could do about the situation, and she displayed absolutely no empathy for what I had been through, or for what the next occupant of that room would go through. Although the root cause of the problem had been a rule-breaking guest, I feel the hotel staff could have displayed a lot more sympathy for my plight, and they could have been a lot more aggressive in solving the problem (e.g., they never even sent anyone to my room to inspect how bad the smoke was; also, someone should have a building schematic which identifies which other rooms are directly connected to the same air duct as my room, thereby greatly reducing the number of potential locations of the smoker). Sometimes you just get terrible luck with your neighbors, but you at least expect the hotel personnel to help minimize the damage.

Upon arrival it was very difficult to get anyone to understand that I wanted to valet...I was asked three times before being given a ticket and my car getting parked. As I attempted to shower, the washcloth that had been rolled and placed neatly on the shelf had large rips and holes in it. (I took a picture of it for further reference). Upon leaving, I was made aware that although we were quoted a discounted price for valet parking, all of my sisters didn't receive the discounted price. As I was driving home, I remembered that I had left my phone charger in the room and it was very difficult to get a person to talk to and even the, I was told several different things about the method of retrieving it. I was initially told that I would have to wait until the new occupants of the room checked out (whether it was a day or a week.) In the same conversation, I was told that nothing had been turned in but they needed to check with the maintenance staff to see if it was on their cart, although it is the policy of the hotel that everything be turned in on a daily basis. I was later told "call back tomorrow". When I called back I got the same run-around. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!!!
