No response from front desk staff on room problem with broken a/c, until I threatened to move away, they then took action, bell boy with such terrible attitude delivered us non working keys for new room, just "throw" us the keys and left! Never witnessed any poorer attitude as a lifetime platinum member at SPG and platinum at Marriott! Worst when asked how to take bus to old city, they just told us walked outside and waited at bus stop and does not bother to tell us which bus number and direction at all. King size bed is actually 2 twin pushed together so u cannot sleep in the middle at all !! Then food is terrible at lounge, better to stay at luxury collection if u want to stick to spg.

Rated 1 out of 5 by DisappointingStay Platinum Member Disappointed
As a frequent traveler and SPG Platinum member, I was expecting superior service. However, upon arrival at check-in, the hotel staff that was rude, arrogant, and spoke to me condescendingly. There were mistakes made on my end in the book process and spoke with SPG to help with the issue. SPG said they will help, but the hotel denied their request to help a platinum member. Ridiculous! Terrible Experience.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TravelFeedback Did not live up to our expectations
(a) old style lobby without any charm.
(b) staff members did not make us feel welcome (we stayed for the first time at the Sheraton Salzburg, but we noticed that frequent customers were well greeted & cared for).
(c) breakfast buffet adequate but in no way inspiring, has to be regarded as overpriced.
(d) no good writing space (only had small round table, no desk)
(e) air conditioning had difficulties dealing with warm outside temperatures
(f) location was very close to Mirabell Garden
(g) they just implemented the "'Make a Green Choice - Decline Housekeeping" program, but had difficulties processing it at check-out.
(h) lacking implementation of free parking for hybrid cars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jechho A nice option in Salzburg
This is your typical european Sheraton, a bit above the american ones when it comes to standard. Located across the bridge from the old town, the area is really nice and not all that touristy.
They have an outstanding lounge which we were suprised too see was very empty almost all day. Not to be missed and easily worth the extra cost.
The room (a jr suite) was okay. As a SPG platinum, I always hope for a suite as per the platinum amenities. Not brand new, but not 80ish neither. Some smell of smoke from below when the window was opened remained us of that Austria still has a lot of smokers (including smoking rooms in the hotel). Be sure of what you book!
Due to some mysterious noises from emergency stairs next to our room, we decided to switch room. (We were getting up early the next morning and needed a good night sleep). We never understood where the noise came from, but it was coming and going and impossible to ignore. This time we were given a "real" suite on the 6th floor, but that one turned out to be next to the service elevator. So not totally quiet there either. Well, well.
All in all, a safe bet in Salzburg. Would return if I can get a good rate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CitizenB Stylish and Excellent
Salzburg is the perfect tourist destination and you really should not put up with a less-than-perfect accommodation. Sheraton Salzburg is ready to give you that 5-star experience. This was my 6th stay at this hotel (mainly leisure, some business) and almost everything about it is consistently excellent. Location, exterior, interior, room décor, facilities, amenities, you get the best for the price paid, also considering your SPG status. One area could still use some improvement though, namely staff friendliness. They are generally nice but I have seen hotels with more friendly staff, and I wish Sheraton Salzburg were the best in this respect, too.
All in all, a really excellent hotel.
