Rated 1 out of 5 by Filthy & Outdated At first glance I was only mildly underwhelmed with my room. I referred to it as "cottage/executive" and thought it was a quaint little space. Once I got settled, however, the filth in the room became glaringly obvious. There were stains on the desk chair, dark handprints on the telephone and a hole (presumably a bullet hole) in the windowsill. The bathroom was worse with a dirty and shockingly outdated shower and the hairdryer was simply propped in the corner - no bag to cover it, and no shelf to place it on. This is my second unsatisfactory Sheraton experience and will be my last.. May 21, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed I have stayed at this hotel in the past, and was actually looking forward to this stay. So many things went wrong this time, it was very disappointing. First the room key didn't work, not a big deal, but a dark portent of things to come. Then the internet service was out, though hours of "work" from the Sheraton tech staff. I had checked in early so I could work on my laptop so this was VERY disappointing. Then the electricity went out which in turn caused the phones to malfunction. When my family called, they were told my line was busy, not that the phones were out. I believe that I should have been offered another room when staff realized the internet was down. They knew my situation. Very unfortunate. May 19, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 not as expected On my stay I expected to feel more comfortable to use all features the facility offered, however the pool was not 24hrs as they said at first when I checked in and there indoor restaurant closed way too early as well as there bar. After a long flight I was hopeing to be able to stay at the room and have full accommodations very disappointed with this facility. May 21, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Recent Hotel Stay Beautiful hotel. Unfortunately I was overcharged for my room. Also, it's PET FRIENDLY and I wasn't informed. A barking dog next door woke me up and disrupted my sleep. Although they did change my room late at night, it was not good for my early morning meeting the next day. May 20, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great gym open 24 hours, needs no cell phone policy Best gym in area for hotels. Unfortunately, guests feel free to hold conference calls while walking on threadmills and speaking. Hotel needs a no cell phone policy in gym and/or more considerate guests. Otherwise, hotel has a good location by airport, shuttle from airport, good food, nice staff. Continental breakfast/Starbuck's comes with room. May 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by great room, poor airport shuttle room was great, good value. Great location. Staff polite. Shuttle service a problem: first shuttle was standing room only; they would not take us, next shuttle (15 " latter) equally full but packed us like sardines and got us there. Boarding pass printer did not work. May 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Location I have been staying at this hotel for the past couple of years whenever I got an early flight out of LAX. They have great staff and iI have never been disappointed staying at this hotel. May 19, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by My Experience at Sheraton Gateway in Los Angeles The carpeting in the hallway, at least on the 3rd floor, looked pretty old. The hallway carpet, at least on the 3rd floor, looked like it needs to be cleaned; dingy and dirty. In my opinion, the breakfast buffet was over priced. After I checked in, I decided I would go to the lobby lounge/bar to have a meal and drink a beer or two. The lounge did not appear as though it was busy; lots of staff and approximately 10-15 customers. However, it took approximately 15 minutes before the waiter approached the table I was seated. After ordering, 1 beer and a meal. The waiter promptly returned with my beer and a small container of snacks and he left. It took me approximately 20 minutes to consume the contents of the small snack container and half of the beer I ordered. Since placing my initial order with my waiter, he was nowhere to be seen. The number of customers present at the lounge increased to approximately 20-25 people. Since I had not yet received the meal I ordered, had an empty snack container and half a beer, I decided I would like another container of snacks to consume with the beer. Since my waiter was nowhere to be seen and since my table was in close proximity to the bar (approximately 7 feet,) I made eye contact with a bartender, held up my empty snack container, requested more snacks, and began to watch a televised sport event. After approximately 7 minutes, I noticed, not one had responded to my table to provide me with another snack container. I made eye contact with the same bartender that I previously requested more snacks from and requested an update on the snack refill I initially requested. The bartender then pointed to a small snack container on the bar near another customer, abruptly returned to his duties of tending bar, and made no further eye contact with me. From his nonverbal cues, I surmised he expected me to leave the table I was seated at to retrieve the snack container I requested. My waiter whom I initially placed my order with returned to my table with the meal I ordered; approximately 10 minutes after I retrieved the second snack container from the bar. Approximately 55 minutes lapsed between the time I entered the lounge, ordered and received my meal. After my waiter presented my meal, he disappeared again. I finished eating my meal within approximately 15 minutes. During this time, my waiter never returned to my table. The only other time he did return, was at the time, I noted he was walking up to the bar. I then flagged him down, and upon his arrival at my table I requested the check, which he provided within 7 minutes, approximately. Upon paying my bill, I concluded I would never return to that lounge again. The lack of customer service I experienced was unacceptable; that's an understatement. May 20, 2013
