Rated 2 out of 5 by No Refrig? First of all, everything was clean and presentable in our room. However, we opened the cabinent only to find an empty space. No Refrifg! And the bathroom very small and if over 5' 10" the mirror is set too low. We were at club level and the entry door kept slamming...we were close to the door..nuisance all night...We had to get ice for our cooler and that was another trip... August 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Hotel is below expectations This hotel was like an old hospital converted and although the meeting space and other things in the hotel were clean, our room was seemed out of date and was not well maintained. When I mentioned to the front desk that we had bugs crawling in the room they just said Sorry and kept working on other things. I definitely will not be returning to this property. July 16, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Check in was confusing 1st room checked was still DIRTY at 4 so we had to go back down from the 3rd floor to the front desk & get re-assigned to the first floor....you'd THINK you would know what rooms were cleaned by a CODE provided by the cleaning staff when the room was ready to be re-assigned. Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Service Terrible Club Lounge SPG made a mistake and told us a room would sleep 4 when it clearly did not. We called down and it took nearly 2 hours to straighten out. We were told other rooms were available but they wouldn't give one to us "in case other people were coming to check in later." Finally SPG helped us get put into a room that would fit all of us. The next day the club lounge only had one employee who couldn't handle the crowd. They were out of coffee and food for over an hour. Not an enjoyable experience. If this hotel had a multimillion dollar remodel as it boasts, I'm not sure where the money was spent. There were cracked windows covered with tape on the fourth floor and new dressers with places for refrigerators but without refrigerators. So strange The staff does little to make people feel welcome or SPG members important. I stayed here only because of the fair and will not return. August 7, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Doesnt live up to expectations The first night we were forced to change rooms due to a faulty lock on the adjoining room door. We were downgraded rooms instead of upgraded. When we moved we left a charger in the room, we called housekeeping for 2 days and they never responded until we went to the front desk to ask for it. Children were allowed to mess around on the cardio equipment and when it was reported nothing was done. Families were allowed to have a pizza party in the business center which made it difficult for anyone to use. If I have a choice Ill never again choose to stay here. March 23, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel was the worst run hotel I've ever been to We got there at 10:30 PM and our 3 rooms weren't ready. Then 30 minutes later, one room was available so I had to take that room because my 3 year old needed to get some sleep. It wasn't the room I was supposed to get upgraded to; instead, my sister-n-law got it. Then the other two rooms weren't ready until midnight. My husband and I didn't take a shower the next day because there were only washcloths and no big towels. August 4, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Rode hard and put up The location of this hotel is convenient for the business traveler. However, it is evident the hotel licensee has put minimal, if any, money into upkeep. The facility is old and poorly maintained. In addition, the "Sheraton Club" has the most dismal and cheap hor's doevrus!! Ghastly! Lastly, the young lady whom I inquired about a cup of coffee around 6:15am should learn that she is in the "service" business and not working for a May 22, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Expected More & room not what we had reserved The room we thought we reserved was 2 dbl beds & a sleeper sofa to sleep 6. We were going to the State Fair, as one of our daughter's 4-H projects were selected. We had 5 down on the reservation. Grandma decided to come, as the room was for 6. Well low and behold the room only had 2 dbl beds & the white comforters were stained - disgusting! Got in the room & my husband went right back. Someone at the front desk said we had a roll away that we paid for - not true, when we checked in no one said anything about a roll away & we NEVER would have gotten a roll away in the first place. Husband called from front desk & I spoke to representative - RUDE as heck, put me on hold 20 minutes when asked for mgr. Hung up went to front desk, another 10 min wait for mgr. She was nice, said would call back and try and work something out - had someone else call back and said hotel full and only could give one roll away. Left one person without a bed. First only going to give free rollaway then took $40 off of bill and gave free roll away. However, still ruined the night, no one slept well except the daughter that ironically got the roll away! The mgr of housekeeping came and looked at the comforter that was stained and did apologize and get changed --- but really this is a SHERATON & you think 1st class, not at all. Not sure where the room we expected went, but we know it said sleeps 6, or we NEVER would have gotten it, as we had 5 to begin with & travel all the time. Will NEVER EVER go back here. We also paid more for room by the pool & the sliding patio door was not on a track - there was no track, so my husband had to physically lift the door to open/close. August 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent renovation 04/21/14 Just had a recent stay for an overnight because of a wedding in the Milwaukee area. Staff has always been very pleasant and helpful during our previous stays along with this one as well. We wanted to mention however, that the recent renovation of the facility was done very well. We had a very comfortable room with pleasant surroundings. Enjoyed our small plates and breakfast from the Alfiere bar/dining area. Keep up the good work! We will be seeing you again for sure! Rated 3 out of 5 by Needs improvement of recognizing starwood owners Even though we are gold club members, this is the first hotel we were banned from using the club lounge. We were told it was only for platinum members and our key card would not work in the door lock. We were also told that the lounge was not yet open for use, but I saw food in there and a person enjoying himself in the lounge. When talking to the desk staff they did not seem very impressed that we are gold members. This was the poorest experience we've had so far since we have been starwood members. July 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great experience! We came into town for the NCAA basketball tournament. We booked using the NCAA package this hotel offered. Check in person was so nice. Gave us our drink tickets, told us about the breakfast and printed us some maps for directions. The restaurant people were great also. The buffet was very good and it was a bonus to have it included in our package. The room was nice and clean. Pool area was simple but our kids enjoyed it. Great location by the mall and close to downtown. March 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wi State Fair We stayed here because it was close to the state fair. The hotel was great and close to the Fair August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Handicapped accessible rooms are excellent We stay here 3-4 times a year due to doctor appointments in the area. My husband is in a wheelchair and we really like the handicapped rooms here. Roomy and comfortable and easy accessibility. Handy to restaurants and to Froedtert. May 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fine for Small Conference You may not wish to publish this. Upon arrival I was greeted from the female attendant at the front desk as I waited with the comment as she typed on her keyboard, "come on over, I don't bite." From there she did answer my question and I left. I no longer saw her the rest of the stay and the other front desk clerks were quite accommodating. I found the gift shop attendant to be unfriendly as well, as well as not very helpful. It appears there may be a monopoly on the taxis and paid transportation availability opportunities thru the gift shop. We did enjoy the kind room attendants and when we asked to have toiletries delivered, they were given promptly. The grounds were clean and tidy as well as the rooms. July 1, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by first time stay Overall a good stay. Food was awesome, atmosphere is good, and conditions were good. Bathroom size was small especially the counter space. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend the stay. July 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Friendly, comfortable, convenient While in town on business, I was stranded overnight in Milwaukee due to a few cancelled flights by the airline. With a major event happening downtown, all hotels were sold out so I had to stay here, close to my office. It was a quick in and out stay, but met my expectations as it has many times before. My only issue was that I had booked a special pre-paid rate which was supposed to come with a World Cup-themed gift at check-in however that was never mentioned to me (and I did not bring it up to the staff who checked me in). While the gift was clearly "while supplies last" I feel they should have acknowledged it since the room rate was higher than the standard rate... essentially paying a bit more for a chance to receive the gift. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great staff at this hotel The hotel was clean and staff was very attentive, especially staff in the restaurant. The breakfast crew was outstanding and truly understands customer service; they were great! July 28, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Value For the room rate, the hotel met my expectations. It is clean and staff is friendly. However, there are certain maintenance items that you may experience during your stay due to the age of the hotel. For example, a leaking sink or running toilet. One other note is that parking in front of the hotel is limited so you may need to park behind the hotel and then walk to the lobby to check-in which is my biggest complaint especially when there is inclement weather. Rated 5 out of 5 by Favorite in the MKE area I come to MKE 8-10 times a year; this is my favorite place to stay on business, as the accomodations are good and the staff is wonderful. From Patricia and Amanda at the front desk to Lindy and Karen in the lounge, the staff makes me feel welcome and well cared for! July 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hotel was fine, but small bathrooms On one ocassion i waited 20 minutes to get assistance at the front desk. It seemed understaffed July 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very accomodating, pet friendly Nice hotel that let me bring my dog with, huge help. July 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Brookfield Sheraton The hotel has been recently remodeled and in a good location despite the large areas of road construction in the Milwaukee area. The television and cable were continuously not working but the staff seemed to be aware of it and responded accordingly. The bar left a little to be desired but there were many more options in the area outside of the hotel. Rooms were clean and remodeled and quiet. July 20, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Location Great location by interstate and mall...lots of places to eat nearby...upscale area...staff was great with our puppy...and Spotted Cow beer in the bar...nice Sheraton January 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has great features I appreciate the fact that I was right near the elevator. I have walking disabilities and that made it so much better. I had very good food the whole while I was there. The room was clean and well cared for. I sat at the poolside with my grandkids and just relaxed I loved it. July 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by disappointing service when I called I called after receiving my bill. I have been staying at this hotel every month for 2 nights for the last 5 months. For the last 2 months I have had 2 rooms, one for an employee of mine. When I received my bills this time I was charged for bottled water, which has never happened before. It is a nominal charge, but I wanted to let the hotel know I was a preferred Starwood member and that this was completely overlooked. I called the hotel and was greeted by an annoyed woman who put me on hold for over 5 minutes and then I was disconnected. There are plenty of other hotels in this area and when i come back next month, I will consider staying elsewhere. February 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by sheraton milwaukee Nicely remodeled Sheraton and the bed is really comfortable. It surprises me that there does not seem to be any carpet cleaning while you are staying there. I understand efficiency but vacuuming the carpet especially in a newly remodeled hotel would seem a small price to pay to reflect the care shown for the guest and cleanliness. July 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Clean and comfortable. The hotel was very nice. It was close to the highway and easy to get to. July 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice spacious room Our king room was spacious with a pullout double sleeper. Bead and pillows are very comfortable. I did find Brookfield wing hallways dark though otherwise hotel was great. July 21, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Thought it had improved... We stayed at the Sheraton Brookfield last weekend, because it was the only SPG hotel available that weekend. Upon check in, we were given a room in the Milwaukee section, which was an upgrade from our stay last year. Nicer, newer, much more well kept room. We were also given access to the club level although we were one floor down, as we are gold members. We arrived late and thought we would take the kids to the pool. The pools were extemely crowded and appeared to have some sort of junior high boys birthday party going on. There were about 15 rowdy boys eating pizza and making a complete mess in the pool area. They also made us feel uncomfortable as if we were ruining their party. I was very surprised that the hotel would allow this in a "business" hotel. We went out and returned hours later in the evening, the party was still going on, and the pool area was trashed. The next day staff had come to put out towels on the chairs and open the pool. The trash still remained all over the tables, pizza boxes and such. It was gross. We never used the pool. In the club room there were only 2 tables and a TV with a coffee table. We attempted to eat breakfast, but two families had camped out on the tables, for an extremely long time and there was no where to sit. The breakfast display was nice, but at 8:00 most of it was gone. A very non-friendly staff member came in to restock some of the items, but only refilled cereal and water. It would have been a nice breakfast if it had been properly manned. Sending someone in at 8:40 when it closes as 9 seemed silly, as it would have been nice to be restocked sooner. Luckily I paid for this hotel in points. I hope there is a better SPG choice in Milwaukee as we go there often. I will try to make my reservations sooner. June 28, 2012
