Rated 2 out of 5 by This has the worst Executive Lounge facilities anywhere! Sadly this hotel was hugely disappointing. The bedroom was rather dull and the bath was so univiting that we did not use it for showering during our one night stay. The lifts worked spasmodically and the executive lounge was so overcrowded at night and also for the breakfast that we did not use it. It was impossible even to get water - hot enough - to make a mid afternoon cup of tea in the lounge. We went out to a super cafe in Anchorage called the Snow City Cafe for breakfast (so good you have to put your name on a wait list) which made our time in Anchorage a happy memory. We would suggest if you can stay elsewhere, it may be a good idea October 16, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not as reserved I have stayed at this hotel before, so had made a couple of specific requests on my reservation and called as well before arriving. I even paid the extra for a view room, but was not put in such a situation. They were very unresponsive and didn't really care. This hotel tried to pass of a view of a cemetery as a view room, then an industrial park as a view room. It was disappointing as I have not had this experience with most SPG hotels which is why I am normally so loyal to the brand. I was told I would receive extra points for the issues but never did. I was so glad to get home after this disaster of a hotel stay. October 13, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasent, great location. Overall this hotel is consistently pleasant. I have stayed here a few times and hosted one event over the last two years. Each time the hotel has been nearly flawless. Yes, the elevators are a little slow, but never offensively slowly. The location is perfect for me, great dining all within walking distance. Rated 2 out of 5 by Why do I stay here? I've stayed at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel numerous times over the last 2 years. After my stay I always find myself asking, "Why do I say here?" Unfortunately, this is the only SPG property in all of Alaska. So if I want some kind of loyalty points for the stay I usually am forced into another night here. Every time I've stayed here there has been something that was irritating. My first stay at the property my entire reservation was cancelled. Another stay it was the heat in the room. This stay the elevators were "slow." My room was on the 8th floor this stay. I went to get the elevator and it took nearly 5 minutes for me to finally get one. There is a sign posted by the elevator that says to call the front desk and they will send one up to the floor! When I asked the front desk that the issue was, she had no idea what I was talking about. I showed her a photo I took of the sign and she asked if it was taken in "this hotel?". I politely asked for a manager and asked him what the issue was. He told me that it would be fixed in the much need renovations scheduled for this winter. I stated that this was the one place where I was happy for the merger to take place so that I no longer had to stay here from now on. He nodded his head and said he couldn't wait for the merger as well. What more can I say? September 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The hotel was very nice Our room was very clean, and the bed very comfortable. I can not say more about the staff they were VERY nice, helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel. August 13, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by FAMILY VACATION This trip included 10 family members. I was quoted a certain price for the room after giving my AARP card, and now on my credit card statement it appears I was over charged.... so now need to spend time getting that straightened out. We were told there was complimentary breakfast... but we only received coupons for one morning for the ten of us. For the other three mornings we had to eat out and it got to be very pricey, which was not supposed to be an out of pocket expense. The one morning we were able to have the complementary breakfast was a horrible experience. There was oatmeal but no bowls. I asked the wait staff for a bowl. One woman said "just a minute" then turned to another woman and asked about bowls. Her response was "that's not our problem"! Really?? Plus the food was adequate to say the least. The lobby looks nice upon entering, but if you really look around the establishment needs a facelift. Elevators are dirty and marked up inside, furniture in rooms is old and scratched...etc. For over $300 a night that we were charged it should not look like that! Location is ok, can walk to places. Rated 2 out of 5 by Not worth it I made my reservation a month in advance. When I arrived, my room was not ready, so I took what they had available because I had been traveling all day. The furniture in the rooms is old, scratched, worn and warped. The breakfast brunch was not worthy of the Sheraton name. Not much selection, the scrambled eggs were dried and stuck to the serving dish and the service was below par. And then there is the fountain in the center of the lobby, with the mildewed rocks. Not worth the money paid for by my company. July 19, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Typical Sheraton Experience Definitely one of the Sheraton properties in the system that could use a little TLC, but provides the Sheraton experience most of us business travelers expect. The rooms are cozy and are definitely showing their age, but the views of either the mountains or water make you quickly overlook any shortcomings. The lounge is a bit cramped in peak tourist season, but offers an excellent selection of beverages and food every evening. Wifi speed is excellent when compared to other Anchorage properties.
