Rated 3 out of 5 by Excellent Services but.... It was my first time at this hotel and I am impressed with the overall services. Your SPG team and hotel staff at the hotel are exceptional. One aspect of the hotel facility needs a major improvement: Executive Lounge. I couldn't find the lounge initially as there is no signage anywhere. There was not enough food and when I asked if they had any more cheese and crackers, they told me they didn't have it anymore. The didn't even have Tobacco sauce. This was a surprise! The buffet at the Summit was forgettable. The food wasn't hot, limited selection but the staff was helpful. After the first day, we went to the first floor instead. When we took the Airport Limo Bus services, your coordinator for the airport (on the first floor of the hotel) spotted the issues with the initial purchase of the Airport Limo bus. The team upstairs didn't bother to ask me which airlines I was going to take and prompted me to purchase tickets for the domestic flight. The coordinator was quick to fix the issue and correct it before we boarded the bus. She made me feel that she was in control and I had nothing to worry about. Great Job! Both check in and check out were effortlessly and I do feel the staffs are well trained. August 15, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb Choice at Disney I have stayed at this property several times and it a superb choice if you are visiting Disney. Above all the service is outstanding, from the top down, from the General Manager to the clean staff, all of whom will greet you with a smile and a greetings. I enjoy visiting Disney for R&R from Tokyo but whether you are a short-distance commuter or a long-distance traveller I highly recommend this hotel. SPG recognition and friendliness are truly remarkable. On this trip, the hotel upgraded us to the Imperial Suite, 160 sq. meters, a separate "quiet room" with an exercise bike, 4 TVs, an 8 seat dining table. We had requested a view of Mt. Vesuvius to view the evening fireworks show. Our request was granted this visit and on other visits. The buffet in the Open Cafe is excellent, the space is ample and the service is superb. Visits to Disney are visits to fantasyland. Enjoyable in itself to see the joy of young children with their parents in the Open Cafe. Nice to see Japan birthing itself. A very minor comment for improvement. In the Oasis Spa, I wish they included disposable combs among the amenities or reusable combs from a box as common in most spas. Otherwise you have to bring a comb from your room. Really a minor point but mention it for hotel management edification. A father was drying the hair of his child and was confused without a comb available. July 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Friendliest staff ever! My wife and I stayed in this hotel in early April 2014. When you check in make sure you become a Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) (if you aren't already) as it is free of cost and you will get 15% discounts at the restaurants. Yes, they check your passport upon checking in to the hotel. This is the friendliest hotel staff I've ever seen. I've stayed in dozens of hotels around the world and no one comes close to the hospitality that the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel offers. I cannot emphasize this enough. Japanese people are already super friendly but the staff here took it up a notch. Just about everyone we came in contact with was fluent in English, but everyone spoke at least some English. We ate at a couple of the food places within the restaurant and they both had good food. The sushi bar is delicious but it is pretty expensive. The main bar downstairs doesn't have a large selection of cocktails but the bartender made good drinks. We stayed in the standard non-smoking room with a balcony and had a view facing the water. Our view was pretty nice. They also have rooms that face Disney. The Disney monorail is about a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Be prepared to pay for the monorail. I rated this hotel a four out of five for three reasons. One, we had to pay for parking. I believe we paid ¥33,000 (about $34) for the two nights we stayed there. Why isn't the hotel parking free for paying hotel guests? Two, my wife and I weren't allowed in the hotel pool because of our tattoos. This is something you see across Japan for some establishments so I understand it but it is more of a warning to everyone else. Don’t plan on getting into the pools if you have tattoos (unless you have bandages that can cover them up). Three, the pillows were not very comfortable. I would recommend bringing your own pillow. Rated 4 out of 5 by really "average" stay, but considering it's next to disneyland and they have good service, i give it "Good". Conclusion: really "average" stay, but considering it's next to disneyland and they have good service, i give it "very good". This stay: 4 nights. Was upgraded to the one bedroom suite on the 12th floor, but it was smoking room, so i asked to switch. Chris S. (who was helping me) promptly switched me to 11th floor corner room, same space a bit shabbier, but still ok. Two double beds, two single beds. Bedding was ok, but pillow was too high, and the mattress springs are too old and too soft so i didn't sleep very well. it's a suite of of a sort but with so many beds, it's more of a motel feel. this cannot be level 6 SPG?! but then, it's a 30year property (albeit renovation done 5 years ago) and it's next to Tokyo disneyland! so it's a relative value thing. 12th Summit for breakfast, not super exciting in terms of appearance but it was tasty and efficient. The whole of Tokyo Disneyland is old and not efficient with the door to door experience (taking the 2 min bus from hotel to monorail bayside station and then couple minutes on monorail to Disneysea or Disneyland) but it is what it is. the silver lining is that the renovation makes the facilities (lobby, restaurants, Oasis (pool, sauna, play room) decent enough and slightly attractive. the rooms are terrible (given the price). But then it's Tokyo disneyland... (yes i am wavering on this property) Pros: cannot get closer to Tokyo Disneyland than this, unless you stay at Disneyland hotel (there are two). built for families with kids. service is excellent, very efficient run Considerations: (i) old and a run down (ii) old school design (the rooms) - every else is passable with the renovation they have done (iii) pricey and honestly not really the best value - but then it's Tokyo Disneyland! feel free to send me a messege if you want more feedback on this property About me: East asian male, based in Hong Kong, travels for business and pleasure 100-150 nights a year (most Asia), SPG platinum 75 April 6, 2013
