Order room service since it was late and needed something to eat. The food was terrible! Would not recommend ordering room service for their food!

Rated 1 out of 5 by dancemom1234 Horrible Experience
I stayed at this hotel for a dance convention and it was quite a disaster. First, there was no where to eat! There were 800 dancers needing food for lunch and there was only a sports bar serving and preparing food for guests and room service. Second, the convention room my daughter danced in was in the basement area. The ceiling was very low, lighting was horrible, smelled disgusting and there were 4 large columns in the middle of the room! There was also a sewer leak coming from the ceiling of the convention room. It smelled horrible and there were trash cans placed throughout the room to catch the drippings! Gross! The bellmen were not very happy and seemed very frustrated with all the people needing assistance with bags. If you are a hotel that offers convention type services, then your facility and staff need to be prepared. I will never stay at this particular hotel again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AC29 Too expensive
I expected a hotel with their rates to offer some sort of complementary breakfast. Instead, there was a $16.00 buffet with $5.00 drinks downstairs! That's too much in the first place, and definitely too much when you are paying $150.00 a night. We were not told about what was available and how to get to places when we checked in, which is usually a courtesy hotels give upon check-in. Internet access was $10.00 a day - way too high! Our room was very comfortable, but it was not cleaned and towels not changed out after the second night. We had to ask twice to get new towels and coffee for the last day of our stay. In addition, it would be helpful to let adjoining restaurants know about conferences ahead of time so they are prepared for a higher number of guests. Check-out also took forever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lacheryl39 Great Experience
I am from Philly and the hotel stay at the Sheraton was a great experience. The gym was open 24hrs and I worked out during my stay late hours of the night. The only problem I had was the bar and lounge was closed due to work being done. I could not hang out at the hotel and that was my only problem.

One would need to do a little research on 'what's happening' at The Sheraton Crown Center. Of course, I checked in during a family weekend event and family reunion, which were unrelated, to find the pool over capacity and the lobby almost as busy as Times Square! However, my upgraded room per Platinum Status was one of the best provided by the industry. For this outweighed the aforementioned, and I would be happy to return.
To expound, I would like to mention the efficiency, friendliness and genuine care I received from the lobby personnel; the concierge, bellhops, valet service and especially the employees at check-in. I would like to specifically point out Kenneth- an eager, robust gentleman that will have patience to take the time and provide you with the best hospitality service possible as set forth in the hotel industry. Therefore, he is worth this honorable mention!

Rated 4 out of 5 by mjb56 Nice!
Even though the hotel is under construction, we never had a problem with it. Signage was great on getting to where we needed to go. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. The room was very clean and spacious. Only complaint is charging for internet. Really now a days...internet is cheap! Parking is $15 per day but the package I booked it was included. That was great!! Looking forward to coming back once the remodel is done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ladon Enjoyed our stay
My husband and I stayed at this hotel to celebrate our Anniversary. The room was very comfortable. We had everything we needed and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The shuttle took us to the Power and Lights District and brought us back. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty and I would highly recommend this hotel. I would like to put in a special thank you to Torrence, the shuttle driver.

We would highly recommend the Sheraton. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We were checked in very early with no complications or questions. The room was very nice and spacious. There was construction in the lobby which we knew of ahead of time. It was a little hard to hear at the check in but would stay again without a doubt. Great experience!

I enjoy staying the Sheraton line of hotels. The hospitality of the staff at this location was exceptional. They had a smile for everything and made sure I got my questions answered, was directed to the correct location, and tried to anticipate just about everything. The room was comfortable and quiet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JTarcson Such a great experience in Kansas City
The Staff at the Sheraton Crown Center in Kansas City know how to treat a return customer. They greet me by name, know my room preference, take care of every need that I could possibly have. They are truly upgrading this property and it has so much appeal to someone who finds himself in KC quite often.

Rated 4 out of 5 by lloyd66 basically a good experience
The room we were given didn't have promised refridgerator and microwave, so we were given a different room. The room still didn't have a microwave and was set up for two people although we had booked for four. We had double beds instead of queen size. The hotel staff did give us more towels, etc. It was lovely and clean, in spite of the fact that it wasn't what we had booked several weeks in advance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jonsie33 Not Customer Oriented
Check in was smooth. From there it went down hill. This hotel was extremely unprepared for the large convention that was booked 1+ year in advance. My rooms phone had NO buttons on the face of the phone (??) and I had to fumble & guess which #'s were which when requesting assistance. Cracks in the sheet rock (?) Most disappointing was the odd dining and cafe (starbuck) hours closed on most days at 3pm!! That required hotel patrons to trek 1+ mile across the way to the mall or to the Westin for a meal! Forget food & coffee Sundays 12pm and they are done! What hotel has this kind of food & beverage service. I cant tell you the amount of $$ they lost. They staff was rude at the desk when asked for other food options & late check outs. I had to leave my luggage for 6 hours due to this, yet other conventioneers at the Westin (same company mind you) were granted late check outs. Trays were seen left out in my hall ways for hours and food scattered in walk ways. When I asked to get my luggage from the desk to leave the hotel I had to wait 15 minutes and my shuttle was about to leave., yet there were 3 people working the desk who kept shuffling my request to each other (?) until one of them finally decided to help me. I cannot recommend this hotel based on their poor service and inadequate preparation for the convention I attended. If you have a large convention or similar needs look elsewhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by eileen1 Would not stay again!
We live in the Kansas City area and decided on the Sheraton for our "staycation." We didn't get back to our room until around 10:00 p.m. We had two double beds, the one I slept in just had a strange smell. After a couple of hours, I pulled back the sheets and saw grease stains and two small "black dot" stains. I got up and slept with my Husband and Daughter in (the very small) full bed.
The next day we left and when we came back, I pulled back the comforter and the same sheets were still on the bed and we did not recommend them not to be changed!! We called to complain and they did come to change them. But, it is the thought that if they didn't change ours from the night before then I was probably sleeping in someone else's unchanged sheets from the night before.
Our refrigerator was not cold, AT ALL, our ice machine on our floor did not have ice for two days. I had to either go up or down to another floor and use that machine.
We have a very sour taste in our mouth and it is a shame that such a reputable hotel would not change sheets on a regular basis (unless otherwise requested).
Because we live in the area, we have had to tell everyone who has asked how our staycation was, and of course we are telling all of our friends the truth.
We felt so dirty and gross - that even though they changed our sheets, we left one night early even though we paid for two full nights.

We stayed at this hotel because we stayed with a group going to a wedding and they reserved a set of rooms for guests. You get a room and that is it. $15 a day to park at a hotel you are staying at. That is not right. They folded the towels that we had used in the morning and put them back in the bathroom. They were not even all the way dry. They popcorn that was on the hallway floor when we got there on Friday afternoon was still there on Sunday afternoon when we left. Most hotels offer a light breakfast, not here. Coffee in the room but if you try to get it in the lobby there is a cost. I do have to say that the beds and pillows were fabulous. Very comfortable.

As far as the rooms and service...awesome. As far as the food options and how things are prepared...needs HUGE improvement. Spectators and room service are so limited in general and even more limited in healthy options. PLEASE get a new chef to revamp and improve the options. Also, the breakfast buffet...I provided feedback on Monday and thankfully saw it by Wednesday. The feedback was to properly hull the strawberries (i.e. I don't want to see leaves) and core the pineapple before cutting as the fibrous core of a pineapple is very difficult to eat, much less fun to digest. Please note, the wait staff is fine...it is the options from the kitchen that need updating big time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by gullable Staff Can't help you
Made a reservation for a group, adults weekend. I made mine late because of other reasons. The rest got a great rate through a well known online company. I made it through Sheraton. Over the phone. I told them about my friends rates and they said, can't help you. Talked to the people at the hotel, sorry, can't help you. So I paid almost twice they did but they wouldn't help or try to compensate in some way. Well at least your getting your reward points was all they said. To top it off, they stayed rooms on a higher floor with better views of the city. Make sure you get it in writing or they will not help you.

My room was dirty when I arrived at about 6 pm but I did not see it until the next morning. The toliet base was soiled and the towels were very shabby and worn. There was a soap wrapper on the floor behind the toliet.
The phone on the nightstand had a thick coat of dust on it...it had not been wiped down in months.
I called in the morning to report problems and ask that they be taken care of while I was out or that I was placed in another room.
The issues were resolved whie I was out but I was disappointed that the room was not clean. I expected more from the Sheraton.
Also, when I checked out, I was not asked how my stay was....it cost $1,154.40 for 6 nights yet, no one inquired.

Rated 2 out of 5 by trick520 Reservation mishap
For the past two years I have made multiple room reservations to the MATSS meeting and in both cases the reservations were messed up. After last years mishap I made sure to have my paper work ready this year and sure enough it was a good thing I had it. Our reservation was maybe a little unusual as it was for six rooms with four arriving Sunday and 2 on Monday. But I received emails stating everything was good to go but at check in they were only holding three rooms for us. The good thing is we worked it out and they gave us another room after I produced the printed emails.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LadyT77 Terrible Internet Access
I was offended that the Sheraton charges $15 for "premium" Internet and I could only get two bars. They did move me to another room, but the same issue existed in the new room. And, I couldn't get the internet to work in the lobby. If internet access is important to you, don't stay here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jjl4290 Great place to spend a Thanksgiving Get Away
It was a memorable Thanksgiving/Anniversary stay at the Sheraton Crown Center. Staff was pleasant and very accommodating. One offering the hotel could have provided was a Thanksgiving dinner. The hotel restaurant was open but we opted for a Thanksgiving buffet offered nearby. Some guests may also prefer a year round indoor pool. The Crown Center was a good start to the Christmas season with staying clear of the Good Friday crowds at major malls.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MIghtyGarretts Beautiful Room, Horrible Food
Only problem with the room was the bottom sheets.. Because they didn't use elastic edged sheets.. they kept rolling up underneath us all night. Great view, very clean and beautiful. The food was so bad, even the bacon was terrible. Bacon really? Coffee in room was ok, but all creamers were partially busted and sour. By the time we had brewed the cups, we were ready to go. Great location, Great service. They did take the food off our bill, though the taste stayed for a while.. Because the food was that bad, I cannot recommend this hotel, as a tried traveler - eating is part of the deal.
