Rated 5 out of 5 by KC Hotel This is my favorite hotel to stay in. Has been since I was a child. Great rooms, wonderful F&B outlets, and love the pool. wouldn't stay anywhere else in KC! September 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Standard convention center hotel This is a standard Sheraton convention hotel with spacious (yet unimaginative) rooms. Even with the size and number of guests it is one of the quietest hotels I’ve ever experienced. The club lounge offers a beautiful view of downtown Kansas City. We found the lounge to be sparsely stocked and breakfast should be skipped all-together as it has extremely limited offerings and runs out quickly. We were told one evening that the food would not be replenished because the kitchen was too busy… Really? The staff was very friendly and attentive and there were no issues to speak of during our stay. August 27, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel was great for the Irish Fest The Irish Fest was great and so was the hotel, If we got hot we just walked back to the hotel cooled off and then back out again. (weekend for sisters to get to gather) September 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wedding Stay We stayed at the Sheraton KC Crown Plaza for a family wedding. The hotel was nice and the staff was all very pleasant. The hotel restaurant was a little pricey and staff was slow at times. The weather was very warm, so Sat. afternoon before a lot of guest went out for the evening, were in the pool with drinks and the crowd were all pleasant and respectful, even having young children in there to swim was not an issue. Rated 3 out of 5 by This hotel was adequate. AC and ventilation in the rooms was not good. Rooms and hallways seemed dated. Room service forgot my pre-ordered breakfast but I was given a comp meal as a result. Dinner room service took twice as long as advised. Lobby staff did not understand how to assist me with sending a letter overnight and it took about 25 minutes to get it figured out. Experience was not my expectation for a Sheraton hotel. Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for a mini family getaway. Our family wanted one last summer mini vacation to gear up for fall and all the school activities. We chose to do a stay-cation and stayed in our own city to take advantage of what it has to offer. The staff is super friendly, the amenities are top notch and the club level offerings were great! We all had a great time and look forward to staying a quick weekend again. August 25, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Expected more for the money Very nice and clean hotel. Located in a good area for family activities. Would be nice if some type of breakfast was offered...included with the room cost. Did like "The Link" that connected things in the Crown Center area. For the money paid for the stay, just wish that there was more offered. Was also charged a $1.50 for a one-second LOCAL call to a wrong number for an area attraction that was listed in a book that was in the hotel room. All taxes and fees also added up to almost another $30.00 for the room. Just be aware that if you're wanting something a little nicer than your usual stay for your family, you're gonna pay for it, but it is a nice hotel. August 5, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Great Service Terrible Food I was stuck eating at the hotel because I was there for a convention. If you are just visiting KC this hotel might still be a good option. The rooms were comfortable and spotless, and the staff was excellent. August 22, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mid week getaway Came to KC to catch the first preseason Chiefs game. The staff were awesome and the beds were pretty nice. The shuttle from the hotel to the game is a wonderful amenity and the driver was very personable. The continental breakfast on the club level was a little disappointing so probably won't partake in that again. I've stayed at this hotel regularly during the football season and will definitely continue to do so. August 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Room service a bright spot. Arrived late in the evening on 8/1/2014 for a family weekend trip. No wait at the desk and we were given a high floor with a nice city view. Restaurant options were limited at the hour of arrival, but room service was excellent. Our server was polite, enthusiastic and interacted very well with our tired and hungry daughter. The only small issue with the hotel location was that in the morning, the train noise started early as there are tracks about a block away. But that's nothing in Sheraton's control. Comfortable bed, nice bathrooms, spacious room with a fridge... overall great experience. August 3, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Checkout... Really!? I absolutely HATE having to wait in line to checkout and receive a printed copy of my receipt. This is the ONLY hotel that I have had to checkout at the front desk to get a bill in over 10 years of frequent business travel. Seriously, what the heck? Why can't you put the bill under my door like EVERY other hotel? This alone is why I won't recommend this hotel. August 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful service My friend and I went to a concert at the Sprint Center and the shuttle service was wonderful. The staff did so much to make our stay comfortable. August 18, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a very good experience This hotel was not very accommodating and nothing was right with our stay. We were told prior to our visit that we could request a conjoined room with family members. Made proper phone call prior to checking in. When I checked in they told me it wasn't possible. They checked me into a room that hadn't been cleaned. The pool area hadn't been tended from 4 p.m. to 10 a.m. with stacks of towels laying around everywhere and falling over in piles. Just not a very good experience for what I expected from a Sheraton. Disappointing. August 6, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very disappointed I cannot beleive that you do not include wireless Internet service in your rooms without paying an additional charge. I can stay in a hotel for $50 a night and get free wireless Internet and breakfast. April 24, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by This Hotel has poor service and food The food was horrible and it took forever to get someone to wait on you. In the bar it was faster to go up and get your own stuff then wait for a waiter/waitress to come back. Being served slimy old lettuce half done food is unacceptable. SNacks for our event were left over Breakfast English muffins no butter toaster pb etc,. What a joke August 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff Staff (especially Kenneth) was very helpful and very curteous. The shuttle drivers who took us to Riverport were very nice and friendly. July 3, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Spotty Service- when good, it's good, when not, it's bad Front desk service, in room dining, engineering, and housekeeping was good. But there was a constant issue between calling down for the valet to bring around the car, and the still having to wait for an extra 5-15 minutes for the car to show up once I got to the front door. I pay extra for the convenience of valet parking. Here, it certainly wasn't convenient. One valet was good, I think his name was Candelario. But I stayed at this property for more than a week. I tipped well. I chatted in a friendly way with the valets and bellmen, but none of that seemed to improve service. There needs to be better communication between the phone operators and valet desk. This lack of service prevents folks from thinking that Kansas City is anything but a provincial destination. August 3, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a bit of sleep I was very disappointed in this hotel. My room was too warm and muggy. I requested a fan--they had none. The maintenance folks came up but there was nothing they could do to improve the temperature. It was a miserable three nights. I was shocked at the attitude of the restaurant staff on the mezzanine. The first day at lunch, the hostess told us, "You need to know that there is at least a 35 minute wait for the kitchen." We heard the same thing on the second day…but we tried it anyway. I couldn't understand why the was a wait..the place wasn't that big or full. The menu didn't seem complicated. Our wait staff acted like we were inconveniencing her by being seated. I won't be back nor will I recommend this to anyone! July 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pretty good The $5 voucher at participating food and beverage outlets- is wrong. They will only give 500 Starwood Preferred Guest Starpoints... I wanted the $5 voucher and they refused, even though I pointed out the sentence of the $5 voucher and the man looked at me dumbfounded and said that they will not give me a voucher, only the 500 Starwood points... The food choices in the restaurant was very limited. Extremely slow service in the restaurant. I had to ask the server 3 times to bring me my check. And she was only serving 2 other tables at the time. I was not impressed. July 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great rest comfort check In on 6-30-2014 Room 2602 - Excellent location for short walking distance (age 71) However, upon entering the room 1. the clock/radio was on the floor under the night stand and the time was NOT set. 2. NO fitted sheet on bed, causing sheet to become untucked & wrinkled underneath me. 3.Maintenance had to come up & adjust wires to get the TV working 4. NO ROOM Service meal guide & NO guide to location of Ice vending machine in room during my 5 day stay 5. As of 7/3/14, clock remained showing incorrect time; I was unsuccessful in setting the time. 6. 7/3 & 7/4 VERY LOUD MUSIC played from 7:30pm-11:50pm; coming from somewhere other than the adjacent rooms. Rated 4 out of 5 by Booking room I called and booked a room with one king size bed. When I arrived I was told had to take two queen size beds.....But the lady next to me booked two queen size rooms and I heard him tell her she had a king size one bed available. I felt that was wrong. August 8, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Cleanliness and Mgmt. Response Leave Something to be Desired I originally only booked the room for one night, but my travel plans changed and I added a another night 2 weeks before my stay. I called the hotel's 1-800 number and the fact they could not just add a night and had me book a second reservation since one was a block rate for a wedding and the other other a regular AAA rate (so two confirmation nos., etc). The first night of my stay I arrived late at night after a friend's wedding. I was tired and frankly didn't think I need to inspect the room at this type of hotel. The next morning I was talking to the bride's mother and found out that the room I had been assigned to by the hotel was actually suppose to go to the bride's uncle. Then, later that night as I was getting ready for bed I dropped a washcloth on the floor. It slid a bit under the vanity and when I bent down to pick it up I saw what appeared to be a pair of wadded up, blood stained panties in the far back left corner of the floor underneath the vanity. (there is probably an 8 inch gap between the floor and the bottom of the vanity). I immediately called the front desk, explained the situation, and asked they send up housekeeping. A hotel employee with gloves and a manager showed up at our door shortly thereafter. The manager asked what happened and the gloved employee removed the item from floor underneath the vanity. The hotel employee who removed the item did not clean the area. Additionally, wwhile the employee and manager were apologetic (especially the employee after he crouched down and saw the stained underwear) the manager's questions made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Specifically, he asked if the item was there when I arrived. Looking back, the way he asked the question and the fact he didn't have the employee clean the area or offer to switch me to a new room make me wonder if he thought the item belonged to me or that the situation was not a big deal (I am in my 20s and I wonder if my age was also somehow a factor in his response). I understand it was found in the far corner of the floor underneath the vanity in an area where I wouldn't be standing or touching and that it had gone unnoticed for a day, but it had someone else's biological material on it! After the manger left and the shock of the whole experience wore off I was left wondering how well the room was cleaned. Had it not been after 11 on my last night and had I not been so tired and already in PJs I probably would have called back down to the front desk asked to change rooms. The next morning, after not receiving a printout of my bill (as I had for the first night/my first reservation), I went to the front desk for a printout when I checked out . I asked if the reason a bill wasn't placed under my door for the second night had anything to do with what was found in my room. The person checking me out asked what happened and comped half of my room for the second night as well as mine and my boyfriend's parking after I told her what we'd found in the room (it was clear from the response the manager hadn't so much as left a note on our reservation about what had happened). I am happy that the desk person addressed the situation and offered some sort of compensation for what happened but I really wish the manger who responded on the second night would have handled things differently and taken the issue a bit more seriously. I understand that mistakes happen. But I choose to pay more and stay at 4+ star hotels because I expect them to be cleaner, and for them to take the situation seriously and fix it when they are not. If the manager who came up to my room had treated the situation more seriously and sent a cleaning crew in, offered to get us a new room, or at the very least comped part of our stay as the front desk person eventually did I would not be leaving this review. Rated 3 out of 5 by Everything was great except parking. Everything was very nice about the hotel. The problem I ran into is they double charged me for parking, it was only 15$ so not that big of a deal. I just figured it would be nice to inform them and get the money back. I called left a message for the accountant, and never received a call back. I called again finally after 20 minutes I got a hold of her and she said it would be no problem, so i figured the case was closed. The money never got refunded onto my card and I'm still trying to call them back and unable to get a hold of them. Everything else was great though. October 15, 2012
