Rated 3 out of 5 by AC29 Too expensive
I expected a hotel with their rates to offer some sort of complementary breakfast. Instead, there was a $16.00 buffet with $5.00 drinks downstairs! That's too much in the first place, and definitely too much when you are paying $150.00 a night. We were not told about what was available and how to get to places when we checked in, which is usually a courtesy hotels give upon check-in. Internet access was $10.00 a day - way too high! Our room was very comfortable, but it was not cleaned and towels not changed out after the second night. We had to ask twice to get new towels and coffee for the last day of our stay. In addition, it would be helpful to let adjoining restaurants know about conferences ahead of time so they are prepared for a higher number of guests. Check-out also took forever!

Rated 3 out of 5 by edwarkl Great Service Terrible Food
I was stuck eating at the hotel because I was there for a convention. If you are just visiting KC this hotel might still be a good option. The rooms were comfortable and spotless, and the staff was excellent.

Room 2602 - Excellent location for short walking distance (age 71)
However, upon entering the room
1. the clock/radio was on the floor under the night stand and the time was NOT set.
2. NO fitted sheet on bed, causing sheet to become untucked & wrinkled underneath me.
3.Maintenance had to come up & adjust wires to get the TV working
4. NO ROOM Service meal guide & NO guide to location of Ice vending machine in room during my 5 day stay
5. As of 7/3/14, clock remained showing incorrect time; I was unsuccessful in setting the time.
6. 7/3 & 7/4 VERY LOUD MUSIC played from 7:30pm-11:50pm; coming from somewhere other than the adjacent rooms.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Chiefs2014 Mid week getaway
Came to KC to catch the first preseason Chiefs game. The staff were awesome and the beds were pretty nice. The shuttle from the hotel to the game is a wonderful amenity and the driver was very personable. The continental breakfast on the club level was a little disappointing so probably won't partake in that again. I've stayed at this hotel regularly during the football season and will definitely continue to do so.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DisappointedinKC Not a very good experience
This hotel was not very accommodating and nothing was right with our stay. We were told prior to our visit that we could request a conjoined room with family members. Made proper phone call prior to checking in. When I checked in they told me it wasn't possible. They checked me into a room that hadn't been cleaned. The pool area hadn't been tended from 4 p.m. to 10 a.m. with stacks of towels laying around everywhere and falling over in piles. Just not a very good experience for what I expected from a Sheraton. Disappointing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by CheckoutHater Checkout... Really!?
I absolutely HATE having to wait in line to checkout and receive a printed copy of my receipt. This is the ONLY hotel that I have had to checkout at the front desk to get a bill in over 10 years of frequent business travel. Seriously, what the heck? Why can't you put the bill under my door like EVERY other hotel?
This alone is why I won't recommend this hotel.

I was very disappointed in this hotel. My room was too warm and muggy. I requested a fan--they had none. The maintenance folks came up but there was nothing they could do to improve the temperature. It was a miserable three nights.
I was shocked at the attitude of the restaurant staff on the mezzanine. The first day at lunch, the hostess told us, "You need to know that there is at least a 35 minute wait for the kitchen." We heard the same thing on the second day…but we tried it anyway. I couldn't understand why the was a wait..the place wasn't that big or full. The menu didn't seem complicated. Our wait staff acted like we were inconveniencing her by being seated.
I won't be back nor will I recommend this to anyone!

We were at the volleyball qualifier held April 11th through 13th 2014. The staff went out of their way in making sure all of our needs were taken care of. They even helped load and unload cases of water we had brought for our team! Rooms were clean, spacious and quiet...Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone, and hope that they will be available for future tournaments!

The $5 voucher at participating food and beverage outlets- is wrong. They will only give 500 Starwood Preferred Guest Starpoints... I wanted the $5 voucher and they refused, even though I pointed out the sentence of the $5 voucher and the man looked at me dumbfounded and said that they will not give me a voucher, only the 500 Starwood points... The food choices in the restaurant was very limited. Extremely slow service in the restaurant. I had to ask the server 3 times to bring me my check. And she was only serving 2 other tables at the time. I was not impressed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mjb56 Nice!
Even though the hotel is under construction, we never had a problem with it. Signage was great on getting to where we needed to go. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. The room was very clean and spacious. Only complaint is charging for internet. Really now a days...internet is cheap! Parking is $15 per day but the package I booked it was included. That was great!! Looking forward to coming back once the remodel is done.

One would need to do a little research on 'what's happening' at The Sheraton Crown Center. Of course, I checked in during a family weekend event and family reunion, which were unrelated, to find the pool over capacity and the lobby almost as busy as Times Square! However, my upgraded room per Platinum Status was one of the best provided by the industry. For this outweighed the aforementioned, and I would be happy to return.
To expound, I would like to mention the efficiency, friendliness and genuine care I received from the lobby personnel; the concierge, bellhops, valet service and especially the employees at check-in. I would like to specifically point out Kenneth- an eager, robust gentleman that will have patience to take the time and provide you with the best hospitality service possible as set forth in the hotel industry. Therefore, he is worth this honorable mention!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel to celebrate our Anniversary. The room was very comfortable. We had everything we needed and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The shuttle took us to the Power and Lights District and brought us back. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty and I would highly recommend this hotel. I would like to put in a special thank you to Torrence, the shuttle driver.

Rated 3 out of 5 by RFrf Spotty Service- when good, it's good, when not, it's bad
Front desk service, in room dining, engineering, and housekeeping was good. But there was a constant issue between calling down for the valet to bring around the car, and the still having to wait for an extra 5-15 minutes for the car to show up once I got to the front door. I pay extra for the convenience of valet parking. Here, it certainly wasn't convenient. One valet was good, I think his name was Candelario. But I stayed at this property for more than a week. I tipped well. I chatted in a friendly way with the valets and bellmen, but none of that seemed to improve service. There needs to be better communication between the phone operators and valet desk. This lack of service prevents folks from thinking that Kansas City is anything but a provincial destination.

Rated 2 out of 5 by CameraLady I've Stayed in Better for Less
This is the second time I've stayed in this hotel for a conference. The meeting facilities were superb, which is probably why my organization chooses it. The rooms, however, leave much to be desired. Most recently, my room never cooled down. Even though the thermostat was set at 68, the room was always stuffy. I woke several times in the night overheated and sweaty. In addition to the temperature, the bed squeaked. Just leaning against it or sitting on the edge caused an annoying squeak. And finally, while taking a bath one night, the plumbing (from the floor above, I assume) rumbled so loudly that I was actually startled. I've stayed in rooms that cost less and were quieter and more comfortable.

We would highly recommend the Sheraton. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We were checked in very early with no complications or questions. The room was very nice and spacious. There was construction in the lobby which we knew of ahead of time. It was a little hard to hear at the check in but would stay again without a doubt. Great experience!

Excellent service. I left my deoderant at home and when I called downstairs to find out when the gift shop would be open the guest service desk quickly told me that they would send deoderant up for me and they did!! It arrived within just a few minutes. Excellent staff and service!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by horrible4 This Hotel has poor service and food
The food was horrible and it took forever to get someone to wait on you. In the bar it was faster to go up and get your own stuff then wait for a waiter/waitress to come back. Being served slimy old lettuce half done food is unacceptable. SNacks for our event were left over Breakfast English muffins no butter toaster pb etc,. What a joke

Rated 5 out of 5 by JTarcson Such a great experience in Kansas City
The Staff at the Sheraton Crown Center in Kansas City know how to treat a return customer. They greet me by name, know my room preference, take care of every need that I could possibly have. They are truly upgrading this property and it has so much appeal to someone who finds himself in KC quite often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LuvDZnee Staff was the icing
I enjoy staying the Sheraton line of hotels. The hospitality of the staff at this location was exceptional. They had a smile for everything and made sure I got my questions answered, was directed to the correct location, and tried to anticipate just about everything. The room was comfortable and quiet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kansastraveler Nice room, good location
This hotel is a great choice when staying in the Crown Center/Crossroads area of Kansas City. It is a more reasonably priced alternative to the Westin and is a great addition to Starwood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bookworm45 Great Service, Great Location, Great Food
This was my first trip to K. City and I was so totally impressed with the service and ease of getting to tourist areas. The food in the hotel's Spectators restaurant was great- in fact the French onion soup was probably the best I have ever had! Then during my 4 day stay there I had access to free shuttle service to take me to a few key areas that tourists like to visit. The concierge service was extremely knowledgeable in answering any of my questions regarding other restaurants or places to go. I would definitely consider staying here again if I return to K City.

Rated 4 out of 5 by EBEE Good hotel for a conference
I stayed 10 days for a work meeting (two days alone with an advance team and 8 days with a roommate). The room was relaxing with its mild color scheme. The bed is very comfortable. Housekeeping was very responsive to a request for more towels and hangers and continued to deliver enough towels for two women. A request to fix a drawer that wouldn't stay closed was never completed. The lobbies have many places for conversation--a real plus. Food in the mezzanine bar was good quality but on our second visit the waiter was unable to provide us with correct checks after 45 minutes even though the place was not busy at all.
