We had a lovely time .... many thanks for a great experience. The location of the resort was terrific as it was close to everything . the room we stayed in was spotless on arrival and was religiously serviced daily . the grounds impeccably maintained but what we found most pleasing is the teams professionalism and enthusiasm. nothing is of trouble and they always have a smile on their faces . The restaurant team is 1st class and pool bar team is also equally impressive. The quality of the meals are also worth mentioning. We normally go overseas to be pampered , good to know we don't have to travel that far get the same wonderful experience ........

Fo two nights running I was awoken at 11:30PM by workersoff-loading metallic structures for the hotel and slamming them to the floor outside my room. I telephoned reception twice but did not really get a response. Pretty poor for a hotel of this status.
I believe some ofthe younger staff could learn a lot from the more experienced staff about service and customer focus / satisfaction.
Furthermore, when one of my international visitors questioned the speed of the "High speed internet" and therefore the cost, he was told that it is normal for the Gold Coast. Considering my portable 3G moden was much faster and more rliable than the hotel internet, I find the $20 charge exhorbitant!

We recently stayed at this hotel for a weekend. Really loved our mirage resort room, very spacious with a great corner bath to relax in. Paula at reception gave me a nice room on the 3rd floor. Thank you also to Mark Sexton for the lovely welcome letter in our room on our arrival.
Pros: Great room, comfy beds, soft linens and towels, lovely view of gardens and lagoon pools.
Fantastic, friendly staff, such as Paula and Shane at reception. I dont recall all the staff names at the Oasis bar or Pearls bar but they were all lovely and helpful. Great location, we enjoyed the pool and the squeaky white sand beach. Really nice to see lots of umbrellas for shade by the pool. I stayed in 2009 and there was very limited shade options then. Nice to see the improvements that have been made to this stunning resort.
Cons: our room A/C was extremely noisy, at first I thought that was just normal hotel A/C but by the end of the two days, it was starting to get to us. We unfortunately were on the floor where an extremely loud "domestic" argument broke out between a man and a woman on the Friday night. Not the hotel's fault, but quite disturbing as we could hear the yelling and screaming from at least 6 or 7 rooms away. Another lady had also heard the disturbance and had called to notify the hotel staff, and I did the same.
Hotel food prices were exorbitant eg: $99 p/person for a buffet dinner in Terraces and no space to accommodate us anyway because it was Valentine's Day. I had called 3 days before arrival to arrange a dinner booking but to no avail. I think as a guest in the hotel, you might expect consideration to get a table, not so. Oyster bar was also fully booked. Perhaps an email from the hotel advising of high occupancy and to make reservations early would have been appropriate. We ended up going over to Marina Mirage. After seeing the prices of the hotel food, ie breakfast $42 p/person, a simple toasted sandwich by the pool is $21, we ate most of our meals at the Marina cafes/restaurants.
As an SPG Gold member, I am usually afforded a late check out until 4pm, here I was told they could not do that when I was checking in, that I had to call on the day to "request" it. I did follow through the next night and was granted a 4pm check out if I paid extra for this. I reluctantly agreed as we needed the extra time before our late flights. On the day, we got locked out of our rooms after lunch, despite being granted late check out so we lost time having to sort this issue out, walking back and forth to the room several times, trying both our keys and then a trip to reception. Luckily one of the reception staff kindly refunded the fee due to the inconvenience. It would be nice if it wasnt necessary to charge Gold's this fee in the first place.
I may need to return in March for work, hopefully it will be a bit more smooth sailing. Despite the cons, the resort and staff are truly lovely.

This hotel is one of the few locations in the area that offers beach access. The pool area is also very nice with bar service. Though I was here on a leisure trip, they have great accommodations for me to keep in touch with my office (Wi-Fi at the pool). The staff was extremely helpful with planning activities throughout our stay. Very close to shops and restaurants as well as a short bike ride to Surfer's Paradise.

We stayed for a special occasion and have stayed many times previously, however this time to say we were unhappy about the buffet dinner was an understatement. We could not fault the service however the food was at best, substandard. Having been before we know the standard but on this occasion it fell far below. We stayed for the convenience of not having to leave the resort, but after having to pay so much $ for two plates each (one of which was dessert) we will consider staying elsewhere next time unfortunately. Which is a shame because the Sheraton mirage is a beautiful resort.

This is our second visit the first was in a Lagoon Terrace Room which was lovely and it was my husbands birthday and a beautiful birthday cake from the hotel was greeting us in the room, we thought this was great, this time we had an ocean view room and once again we had a wonderful time. Our room was amazing I woke up at 4 a.m to watch the sunrise over the ocean......I did not want to go home. Each visit we have had a very relaxing time, this time we had cocktails round the beautiful pool. We can't wait to come again. All the staff were friendly and helpful too which all added to our stay. We highly recommend this hotel.

This is a great hotel right on the beach at Main Beach. The resort is spotlessly clean, the rooms are spacious, the bed comfortable, the grounds are gorgeous and there is a huge pool. The resort is set on a patrolled beach. Free parking and free Wi fi. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The food at Terraces restaurant was really superb. Could not ask for more and will definitely return.

From the moment you enter the lobby you know that you have chosen a truly 5-star hotel. The pool is excellent and has a bar also! It is located right on the beach which is ideal. Also ideal is the very short walk to the boutiques and restaurants of Marina Mirage. We would book again with no hesitation.

I choose the Sheraton Mirage Resort and Spa because the pools looked beautiful on the Starwood Website and because there was a spa. Two things required for any vacation. Being directly on the beach was a bonus.
The hotel has become notorious for its snake fence – yes, that’s right, I said snake fence. A thick glass wall encircles the resort - theoretically keeping the poisonous Eastern Brown Snake, the second most deadly snake in Australia – outside of the resort. The snakes nest in the sand dunes located outside of the resort. Thankfully, I did not encounter any snakes on this trip.
The hotel is currently undergoing renovations to its rooms and common areas. I was not lucky enough to get a renovated room, however I was “upgraded” to an Oasis Room on the first floor which included a small patio overlooking the oasis pools. The room was very large and had a king size bed (well, actually it was two double beds pushed together,) a small sofa pull out and a chaise lounge. There was also a small breakfast table with two chairs and a work desk with Ethernet cable. The bathroom was definitely the highlight of the room - a large marble bathroom with a soaking tub and shower.
There were some drawbacks to the room – first, there were no blackout shades or privacy shades on the windows or sliding glass doors. The sliding glass doors were covered by wooden slat blinds and when the sun rose at 4:45 a.m. the room was filled with light (so wakeup calls weren’t necessary). Second, my room faced the restaurant and conference rooms and main walkway to the reception area, so I constantly had to close the wooden blinds for privacy, blocking the lovely oasis view.
One thing to note is the speed of the internet connection (wired and wireless) at the hotel and in the room. It was painfully slow and had I been on business, wouldn’t have been workable.
The hotel has 1 restaurant, a bar and a swim-up pool bar. The restaurant, Terraces, is a buffet but also has an a la carte menu. When I arrived late on a Sunday evening, I tried to go to Terraces, but was told that reservations were required and there was a two hour wait for a table. I was directed to the bar, Oysters, where they served food as well. I was not impressed with the sandwich I got there. Room service was another option for food at the hotel. Overall, I was shocked at the prices . At the pool bar, all cocktails were outrageous. The other options were to walk across the street to the Mirage Marina and dine there (good choices) or to take a bus or taxi to Surfers Paradise.
The Pool & Beach
The pool looks huge on the website, but the majority of what you’re seeing on the website are the oasis pools and not the swimming pool. On the first day of my stay there were not enough lounge chairs (or any kind of chairs) at the pool. After about 20 minutes of wandering, I finally got a chair.
On my second day, the situation was much better and on the third day, the pool area had a makeover (I assume part of the renovations) and there were dozens of new chairs, new chair cushions and umbrellas added.
The beach was very private and looked nice, but unfortunately during my stay the weather wasn’t great and the ocean was very choppy. I didn’t venture in.
The spa is not part of the hotel, but directly next door and does allow room charges. The spa, which is connected to the gym and next to the tennis courts, is very nice. It provides a very tranquil atmosphere. I got a manicure and pedicure and was very happy – though as with everything in Australia – it was very expensive. This is not a spa destination – rather a hotel with a spa next door. If you’re looking for a spa retreat –this isn’t the right location.
Australia is very expensive and the Sheraton is extremely high priced – be prepared. I would love to see the Sheraton after the renovations are completed – I think it will significantly improve the hotel. What I saw on my visit made a great difference. In addition, as with most Australian hotels, a credit card fee of 1.5% will be added to all transactions settled by credit card, so be prepared for that fee. I wouldn’t rule out another stay at the Sheraton Mirage Resort and Spa, but I would probably try the hotels closer to Surfers Paradise first.

The staff always go above and beyond expectations and the level of service is exceptional. Coupled with the beautiful beach and glorious sunshine, is there a better place to unwind and be pampered?

We have stayed at this resort several times, but not for two years as it was really needing a renovation, this has now occured. Its a great location, fantastic for kids with a passion for the pool, and has a brilliant array of dining options, both on property and across the foot-bridge. Beachfront access is immediate if you so choose. The true highlight is the staff, their keeness to ensure nothing is too hard is more consistent with a US property than an Australian.
A sudden need to execute some contracts for work on short notice including scanning and emailing was handled without drama by the front-desk team. So often in other situations this becomes a drawn out affair, not here and it is appreciated.

My family & I have just come back from a very relaxing stay. The only issue arose when we checked out. The hotel "holds" onto money which more than covers one's stay but wouldn't allow us to use this held amount to paying our bill (the bill was $452 & they held onto $620+) & then just reversing the difference. We managed to sort it out by calling our bank in Melbourne as computers located at reception wouldn't allow us to access internet banking via a FireFox wall. This caused us to nearly miss our flight back to Melbourne and this was stressed to the receptionist who was unsympathetic.

Spent two beautiful nights on the beach at Mirage.
After a minor mix up with room preferences our manager personally bought the keys to our new room while we were having a relaxing cocktail in the bar.
The staff member who took my call obviously realised what our issue was and it was fixed within half an hour with a smile and a handshake. We will be back..what a beautiful room by the way.

The team @ Marina Mirage took a very taxing 5 day conference from what could have been tiring and yuck to a really enjoyable time.
I spoke with colleagues at the airport and we all agreed there was nothing more which could have been done

There appears no benefit to being SPG. No favours at check-in, room not ready until 3pm. We requested King bed and received twin ?queen?double. A cold night, and we discover the A/C not working at 10pm. Feedback forms in the room had scribble all over them. Please don't bother responding, my wife not interested in returning.

We just can not stay away!
Myself and my wife are frequent stayers at this property, and each time it just keeps getting better and better and...............................BETTER! Our stay from 13/6-16/6 was to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival and finding a park in the large free underground carpark we ventured up to the lobby and soaked up the relaxation as we looked out of those huge panoramic windows across the pool and out to the ocean. Just fantastic. Check-in was quick, efficient and the Duty Manager Thomas even went of his way to come outside and welcome us back (thanks Tom.....was great to see you too!).
Upon arrival at our room (3100) there was a birthday surprise of balloons etc waiting for me which my wife had organised through the team here. She told me the story of how she did it and was so excited that what was left more than exceeded her expectations! A bottle of champers was waiting in which we indulged sitting on the ledge of our wide opening window overlooking the surf.
Now to the room........like most here at the resort, clean, open, spacious. What more could one ask for? The Sheraton beds are so comfy that sleeping is not a problem! We went for dinner at Terraces and like always brilliant. When I made my way to the carvery Chef Rob was already slicing my pork and preparing my crackling.......ummmmmm maybe we come here too often if they know me that well! (and keep on coming back we will!). The staff in the restaurant prepared a small tasting plate of desserts and a candle to wish me happy birthday! Just before our departure the F and B Manager Mr Elakis came and wished me a happy birthday and invited us to the refurbished Pearls Bar for a cocktail. Let me say the rejuvenated Pearls Bar is brilliant! A diverse range of seating from barstools to lounges....it was great. The local mixologist David created us two drinks which were amazing. So amazing we made Pearls a regular stop each night we stayed!
Breakfast at Terraces like always was great. It's worth noting that if you are a SPG member that the prices are heavily discounted during the winter months. Well worth it!
From Friday 21/6 we stayed at the resort for another two nights to celebrate our anniversary. This time we were allocated room 2051. This room had a resort view and was extremely spacious! Once again the bed was a dream and the room well equipped with everything we needed. Thank you so much for the champagne to help us celebrate! We again went to Terraces for dinner. Due to the rotating menu there was no pork this time! Oh well, the ham was still yummmmmmy. John, our waiter was right on to it. He didn't miss a beat and I over heard others in our area also comment on his nature and attitude. Well done John!
As part of our anniversary I treated my wife to a spa experience at the Golden Door. She said it was absolutely amazing and I am glad that it was money well spent!
It is worth noting that the lagoons are currently undergoing a major refurbishment. However, staying consecutive weekends it is easy to see the progress that has been made and it will be great to see the finished product on our next visit in October. Though the facilities are wonderful, it really is the warm nature of the staff that put this place into a whole new category. Some may say....."well that's their job"......in that case, they do it super well!

I ordered room service.
I asked for some tissues as BOH left two tissues in the box in the bathroom.
He immediately tried to instruct me to ring house keeping, pass the responsibility.
This appears a bit bureaucratic for a 5 star hotel.
Also the toilet was not cleaned properly twice. This may be due to the choice of toilet bowl design.
As a alcoholic i find it discrimitory that i pay more for a Mocktail than for a full strength scotch. Also Non alcohilic beer appears to be a novelty in Australian hotels. Amercian cruise ships have a choice of three on board ships????

As a platinum member and having stayed here before I was very disappointed in my room , I booked a family vacation and had several rooms booked and paid the next rate for ours was told I got an upgrade yet it was the room I booked so am not sure how that works !! very dissapointing , I booked several months in advance and called the hotel on many occasions its just not good enough under the circumstances ,while I understand it is a peak period , I booked 8 rooms and xmas lunch 3 months out , other than that the food was very good and some of the staff also very good , check in and front desk staff need to be more attentive and listen to the client but very hit and miss for me ,it really depended who you got , overall I was slightly disappointed especially for what we spent , highly doubt I will do it again and certainly not here ,this is a great spot and a bit of a shame as this stay has really determined for me that I doubt I will stay here again , at least not for a long time , on the upside my mother lost a valuble necklace so to the house keeping agent ,thankyou for your honesty there .

People were permitted to throw balls in the pool. On two occasions I was almost hit in the head by one of these balls. Its dangerous as small children were also in the pool at the same time, they could have been hit by the balls. It is not a safe practice to have people throwing balls, of any kind, in the pool.

Loved every moment at Sheraton Mirage. My husband and i chose the Dinner, Bed and Breakfast package.-we enjoyed a sumptuous buffet dinner whilst surrounded by magical ambiance of Terraces dining room and foyer .That evening we relaxed in our spacious Spa Studio room, which featured a lovely private courtyard area which overlooked manicured garden and lawns. Next morning we walked through the beautiful pool area- and experienced the delicious breakfast in the Terraces Restaurant. We can't wait for our next opportunity to visit the Sheraton Mirage !

We recently stayed at Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast and found everything to be first class, from the facilities to the staff and everything in between. Food was also amazing as was the service. We would highly recommend this resort to couples for a romantic getaway through to families. It certainly made for a very memorable birthday. Thank you Sheraton.

My family of 4, with 2 kids aged 4 & 7 yrs old were awed by the hotel as soon as we emerged from the carpark. The hotel lobby was bright and offered a fabulous view of the ocean just in front of the hotel. The room was spacious and 4 of us fit in quite comfortably on the 2 double beds. The huge corner bath was great for my 2 young kids. I was however very disappointed when I requested to extend my stay by another 4 nights at the same rate I booked for. The reservations staff quoted me a rate almost 40% more for the extension. When I told her there was a more preferential rate available online, she did not offer any assistance to check further. Without hesitation, she asked me to do the booking online myself despite me already being a guest at the hotel! When I asked further if a discussion with the mgt was possible, I was turned down flatly. Unfortunately, I checked out of the hotel as earlier planned due to the unwillingness of the staff to further assist with the extension booking. This spoilt my overall good impression of the hotel especially since I found the cheaper rates still available the day after I checked out. Right on your very own website!

I stayed at this property last weekend and having stayed there plenty of times, you always feel special. One of the very few hotels in Australia that still provide you with the good old fashioned 5 Star service.
Renovations on this property is fantastic. Restaurants are very good..the facilities are the best in Gold coast.
Did anyone make me feel special... Yes..the guest service person (Helen) was the most helpful services staff I have come across since quite a while. I am an SPG Platinum and Hilton Diamond member and therefore have stayed in quite a few properties. Helen exceeded my expectations by a mile.
The one less than perfect experience during this stay was the lack of recognition as a platinum member. While they upgraded me to another type of room...they also upgraded a non spg member to the same type of room as i was.
I will definitely go back there again.

I have been a guest at this hotel many, many times over the past few years (work conferences, leisure and birthday events with friends) and each time I have thoroughly enjoyed myself and found it to be fantastic value for money.
Now that I've been there so often, most of the staff recognise me on sight and always seem genuinely happy to see you again and stop to chat.
Now that the refurbishment is finished it is clearly one of the best locations on the gold coast. Beautiful rooms, outlook and facilities.
Food and beverage options are excellent and the breakfast and lunch/dinner seafood buffets are still just as excellent as they have always been. Well-known location for meals on the weekend so make sure you book! The pool bar on a sunny day is just a perfect place to hang out with the meals and drinks just as tasty as Terraces restaurant.
If you book here for work or holiday you won't be disappointed!!

There is lack of care from staff to make it a good experience for travellers.
The service in the buffet breakfast was a horrible experience. Service overall did not improve after that throughout the hotel.
One more thing, the pool was very cold.
I don’t think I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It gives a bad name to the Sheraton brand.
