Once again the Sheraton Mirage Resort & Spa Gold Coast has lived up to all our expectations. Sensational location, direct access to the beach, great room with excellent bedding. Stunning restaurant with excellent breakfast and the most amazing seafood buffet. The staff were so polite and helpful, it was like being a member of the Sheraton family!

Our stay was excellent up until we had breakfast.
Everything was really 5star - check in staff - ground staff - room presentation - function staff - then we went down for breakfast.
Firstly I joined SPG (on the request as check in to get a reduced price on b'fast @ $30).
This turned out to be $35. We were seated, asked if we wanted tea or coffee, coffee thanks. Then that was it - no explanation about the buffet. The coffee was absolutely awful. Kept having to ask for cutlery, then it was dropped on the table. The food was great but the service was atrocious. I would recommend to stay but don't eat b'fast there....

My family wanted to celebrate my husband's special birthday in-style and chose the Sheraton Mirage on the Gold Coast. This beach front resort provided the luxurious getaway we were looking for and the close proximity to local attractions was fantastic, especially for the grandchildren. The renown seafood buffet at Terraces Restaurant more than met our expectations and the service was warm and friendly for the duration of our stay.

I have been coming to this hotel for many years and it has never disappointed. The staff should be commended for their helpfulness especially during busy periods. The recent refurbishment has managed to refresh the hotel while still respecting what has made it special in the past. Being right on the beach at the Gold Coast with shopping, dining close its location is perfect. Being a Lifetime Platinum member I have stayed at many hotels around the world. This is one of my favorites.
Special mention also to Ronda from Guest Services, her attention to detail and helpfulness during our recent stay was first class.

The bathroom is not very clean and old. Being a 5 star hotel, not providing a standard amenities like tooth brush is actually a let down.
The location of the hotel is perfect though for anyone looking for nice holiday and relaxing. The view is superb.

The staff in the hotel is very friendly and caring. All my needs were taken care of. The suite was so big that a family of 4 can easily accomodate. The hotel was very comfortable. I felt great during my stay. Highly recommended.

very friendly staff in all areas, room excellent value, good view, nice and warm. Nothing too much trouble for staff. Great location, easy walk to beach. would definitely stay again! haven't tried the pool area or restaurant yet!!
My mother said her shower was the BEST ever!

Attended a wedding 26/07/14, also stayed.
The room was excellent and staff were very helpful, we flew in from Sydney and needed a early check in. The wedding venue, staff and food were excellent. Same we only stayed the weekend. Hope to stay longer next time.

The hotel services, staff food and beverage is excellent. However some feedback on the "Green Initiative" regarding housekeeping. If the hotel wants guests to opt out of housekeeping, supplying a toilet brush in the bathroom may provide more incentive.

I first stayed at Sheraton Mirage 27 years ago and loved it. This week I was just as impressed with all aspects of the hotel. It is a unique hotel - so different to other large hotels. The layout is spectacular. Gorgeous grounds. Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. I will be back - soon and often!!

Went for a couple of days of R&R. Found the hotel clean and quiet. Nice area around the pool and easy access to the beach for a nice walk.
The seafood buffet was very good.
Only drawback was that we wanted to play some dvds, but there was no dvd player in the room.

Fo two nights running I was awoken at 11:30PM by workersoff-loading metallic structures for the hotel and slamming them to the floor outside my room. I telephoned reception twice but did not really get a response. Pretty poor for a hotel of this status.
I believe some ofthe younger staff could learn a lot from the more experienced staff about service and customer focus / satisfaction.
Furthermore, when one of my international visitors questioned the speed of the "High speed internet" and therefore the cost, he was told that it is normal for the Gold Coast. Considering my portable 3G moden was much faster and more rliable than the hotel internet, I find the $20 charge exhorbitant!

We have travelled to Dubai, Europe and the U.S. and this resort is certainly the best resort we have ever stayed in. We wanted a quiet weekend away at the end of our holiday, and the location was just perfect - absolute beachfront, and quiet and tranquil compared to the main tourist area. The breakfast and seafood buffet were sensational value and quality. The king bed was so fabulous we plan to buy one from the online Sheraton shopping website when we return home. The staff are very friendly and obliging. We are going to go back for our anniversary!!

We stayed for a special occasion and have stayed many times previously, however this time to say we were unhappy about the buffet dinner was an understatement. We could not fault the service however the food was at best, substandard. Having been before we know the standard but on this occasion it fell far below. We stayed for the convenience of not having to leave the resort, but after having to pay so much $ for two plates each (one of which was dessert) we will consider staying elsewhere next time unfortunately. Which is a shame because the Sheraton mirage is a beautiful resort.

This was our second stay at the Sheraton Gold Coast and I have already booked our third. My family and I are truly thankful to the hard working staff members that have at every turn gone out of their way to make my family comfortable and welcome. In particular we would like to thank Jane and Claudia at Terraces Restaurant and also Phejas and Daniel at Pearls bar for being attentive and taking the time to make our stay that little bit more special. I have also handed out some Gold ‘Thank You’ cards and I hope that these staff members benefit in some way.

I choose the Sheraton Mirage Resort and Spa because the pools looked beautiful on the Starwood Website and because there was a spa. Two things required for any vacation. Being directly on the beach was a bonus.
The hotel has become notorious for its snake fence – yes, that’s right, I said snake fence. A thick glass wall encircles the resort - theoretically keeping the poisonous Eastern Brown Snake, the second most deadly snake in Australia – outside of the resort. The snakes nest in the sand dunes located outside of the resort. Thankfully, I did not encounter any snakes on this trip.
The hotel is currently undergoing renovations to its rooms and common areas. I was not lucky enough to get a renovated room, however I was “upgraded” to an Oasis Room on the first floor which included a small patio overlooking the oasis pools. The room was very large and had a king size bed (well, actually it was two double beds pushed together,) a small sofa pull out and a chaise lounge. There was also a small breakfast table with two chairs and a work desk with Ethernet cable. The bathroom was definitely the highlight of the room - a large marble bathroom with a soaking tub and shower.
There were some drawbacks to the room – first, there were no blackout shades or privacy shades on the windows or sliding glass doors. The sliding glass doors were covered by wooden slat blinds and when the sun rose at 4:45 a.m. the room was filled with light (so wakeup calls weren’t necessary). Second, my room faced the restaurant and conference rooms and main walkway to the reception area, so I constantly had to close the wooden blinds for privacy, blocking the lovely oasis view.
One thing to note is the speed of the internet connection (wired and wireless) at the hotel and in the room. It was painfully slow and had I been on business, wouldn’t have been workable.
The hotel has 1 restaurant, a bar and a swim-up pool bar. The restaurant, Terraces, is a buffet but also has an a la carte menu. When I arrived late on a Sunday evening, I tried to go to Terraces, but was told that reservations were required and there was a two hour wait for a table. I was directed to the bar, Oysters, where they served food as well. I was not impressed with the sandwich I got there. Room service was another option for food at the hotel. Overall, I was shocked at the prices . At the pool bar, all cocktails were outrageous. The other options were to walk across the street to the Mirage Marina and dine there (good choices) or to take a bus or taxi to Surfers Paradise.
The Pool & Beach
The pool looks huge on the website, but the majority of what you’re seeing on the website are the oasis pools and not the swimming pool. On the first day of my stay there were not enough lounge chairs (or any kind of chairs) at the pool. After about 20 minutes of wandering, I finally got a chair.
On my second day, the situation was much better and on the third day, the pool area had a makeover (I assume part of the renovations) and there were dozens of new chairs, new chair cushions and umbrellas added.
The beach was very private and looked nice, but unfortunately during my stay the weather wasn’t great and the ocean was very choppy. I didn’t venture in.
The spa is not part of the hotel, but directly next door and does allow room charges. The spa, which is connected to the gym and next to the tennis courts, is very nice. It provides a very tranquil atmosphere. I got a manicure and pedicure and was very happy – though as with everything in Australia – it was very expensive. This is not a spa destination – rather a hotel with a spa next door. If you’re looking for a spa retreat –this isn’t the right location.
Australia is very expensive and the Sheraton is extremely high priced – be prepared. I would love to see the Sheraton after the renovations are completed – I think it will significantly improve the hotel. What I saw on my visit made a great difference. In addition, as with most Australian hotels, a credit card fee of 1.5% will be added to all transactions settled by credit card, so be prepared for that fee. I wouldn’t rule out another stay at the Sheraton Mirage Resort and Spa, but I would probably try the hotels closer to Surfers Paradise first.

We were delighted to have been upgraded to a villa. Absolutely gorgeous.
I lost an item of clothing while staying at the hotel, and the staff were unbelievably helpful in trying to locate it. (Sadly not found).
Food wonderful, pool great. I love this hotel, which is why we return!

This must have been my sixth or so stay since the refurbishments. The staff were still very friendly and helpful. Very prompt service received at Terraces. and thank you to housekeeping for replacing towels and wiping the wet bathroom floor during turn down service.
Just a few minor points:
1. Noticed that there were no mouth wash in the bathroom amenities this time, yet I spotted them in the housekeeping cart.
2. The tube of body lotion in the bathroom amenities was past its expiry date.
3. This was my second time staying as SPG Gold, but I've never been offered an enhanced room at check-in as part of the Gold benefits.
