Rated 4 out of 5 by 4th visit in 13 months Now a regular visitor to the Sheraton Mirage. great location, pleasant and helpful staff. Our only disappointment on this visit is that staffing levels at breakfast seem to have been reduced causing delays on seating, serving of beverages etc. I can appreciate cost cutting must occur but it is unfortunate when guests suffer the consequences. Also the cost of the internet is expensive and does NOT cater for guests staying longer than 3 days! August 26, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Traps for the unwary. The hotel offers excellent facilities, fine dining and excellent and friendly service. It has afforded a relaxing eight days stay. However the experience was dulled a little by a lack of information regarding the inclusions in the accomodation package offered.and an effort by the hotel to increase the room price to cover an alleged upgrade and breakfast. Had this been explained when the booking was made it could have been easily resolved. Next time I will ask more questions. Despite this the stay was enjoyable. The Oyster Bar and the pool service were highlights of the experience. The convenience of the Mirage Marina Shopping Centre was also an enjoyable experience.. August 15, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by the room was wonderful and the checkin staff were great but this was a very important family occasion and the staff at our dinner table were very disappointing,twice a bottle of wine was dropped and broke glass on our table, the lady then did not even get us a complete new bottle of wine, and the young girl helping her did not know the level to pour the wine to in the glass-not 5 star- we were apologized to but were not given a free new bottle of wine until one of our party complained.only then were we given wait staff who were 5 star in service.we were compensated at our checkout with the wine charge and valet parking struck off our bill and we thank you for this and accidents can happen to anyone but this lady and the young girl were not at 5 star level and because we have stayed before and always given 5 star treatment we were very disappointed for this very special family occasion August 15, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Slow start that got better by the day Had a bit of a shady start with one staff member who had no idea of customer service, have no idea of the name of the staff memvber in question she was meant to be our waitress in the restaurant on friday night only time we saw her was when she placed two glasses of water at the table never asked if we would like drinks and then when I went to pay the bill she handed it to me as i queued at the counter to pay. The food and beverage manager on duty was informed immediately by other staff that I had an issue and resolved it straight away and that made up for the poor service. The next morning the Assistant Food and Beverage manager was on the next morning and he also could not apologise to much for the service and you could see how sincere he was with his apologies. it is a great hotel and the Spa Studio rooms are very spacious with a great view over the resort, Stayed in room 2102 and could see out onto the beach front through a side window. Will definately be back there soon and I only ever choose starwood hotels where ever I go. August 15, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff very helpful We found the staff helpful and friendly, the room was very clean and when our spa didn't work they sent maintenance promptly to fix it. The rate was good and breakfast was very enjoyable. We would stay again as we are locals and can take advantage of any specials available. August 6, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Room was lovely The hotel staff were of average quality. Gardening & Contractor staff not in uniform, housekeeping staff able to pass trollys in foyer areas. The food standard was average. Division of FIT's & Conference groups needs attention. Perhaps some sheer curtaining between Confernce areas and restaurant. July 29, 2012

Couldn't get the heater to work, beach was closed because it was too dangerous to swim and had to ask to get the room cleaned. But geat facilities, best breakfast on the coast and beautiful rooms. Rated 4 out of 5 by June 2012 I stayed at the Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast in mid-late June 2012 with my partner in one of the "Ocean Premium Rooms." My first impression of the hotel was unfortunately one of a busy construction site - the below disclaimer was made on the hotel website prior to booking "Landscaping: May 29-June 28, 2012 the lawn areas directly adjacent to the Oasis Pool will be renewed. The Pool & Bar will be fully operational, while the lawns will be inaccessible." However I was surprised on arrival to find half the driveway up to the lobby blocked off for construction work, though to the hotel's credit they had a staff member outside the lobby directing confused drivers such as us down to the guest carpark. Additionally the stairs from the lobby to the ground level were closed off for work necessitating use of the lift, and a good portion of the ground floor was cordoned off for retiling. I was disappointed this wasn't disclosed as it really did detract from the presentation I normally expect from five star accommodation. Asides from the construction and landscaping work, there were two negatives that I'd never expect from a hotel of this standard. Firstly, I was about to rinse my mouth with the water glass in the bathroom before I noticed a couple brown specks caked to the bottom, which appeared to be instant coffee granules. Seeing a dirty glass in a hotel of this standard is unthinkable. Secondly, one evening returning from dinner I saw a male member of staff (I didn't notice his name badge otherwise I would've raised it with management) walking down the corridor to the left of reception with his collared uniform shirt completely tucked out of his trousers. Not in the manner it may fall out accidentally if you're sitting in your chair slouching, but completely out. He also ignored us compared to every other staff member who greeted with a nod and smile. My partner was surprised and I was embarrassed as I was the one who picked this hotel. Those were the main negatives of the stay. On the positive side, reception staff were very friendly, professional and accomodating. I went back to the lobby of the hotel Sunday lunchtime after I had checked out, to recover from sea sickness after a jetboat ride. The reception staff (a young Chinese lady with very good English) recognised me and noticed I was unwell, and brought some towels and iced water which I really appreciated. The breakfast buffet we had on both days was delicious, especially the omelettes that the friendly chefs made to order. So impressed we were by breakfast on Saturday that we had buffet dinner at the hotel that evening as well. Again I couldn't find much fault with the service and the delicious selection of food, especially the fresh prawns and crabs. I wish they provided the tools to crack the crab legs, it felt wasteful just throwing them away. Asides from the issue of the dirty glass, the room was actually lovely and the bed (they oddly have one on display in a showcase near the lobby) is really comfortable to sleep on. The Sony alarm clock / ipod dock in the room was an unexpected nice addition and the sound quality was fantastic. The spa wasn't nearly as strong as I had hoped it'd be, but I've never used a home / room spa before (only ones in health and fitness centres) so it could just be standard strength for bath tub spa. The bathtub and bathroom were very spacious. Next time I come back to Gold Coast I would definitely consider returning to the Mirage. The location is excellent; Main Beach has a much quieter and relaxed feel compared to Surfers Paradise. The construction work should be finished in the not too distant future and most staff were a pleasure to deal with. I just hope management can ensure that glasses are double checked by kitchen / housekeeping staff, and that all staff are aware of the professional presentation that guests expect in hotels of this standard. Rated 5 out of 5 by Always fantastic This visit was pleasure but I've stayed at the Sheraton for conferences over the last few years. Every single time, the hotel has been perfect in every way, the staff totally lovely and helpful. The little things that do just go wrong are fixed over and above expectations. All in all I would recommend the Sheraton Mirage to anyone for any occassion. I love all the new work and can't wait to see the ballrooms completed. Thanks to everyone for another great stay. It was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever slept in and the breakfast buffet would be up there as well. Staff were all happy and courteous. Thank you. June 20, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Disrespected SPG Platinum Guest Stayed at Gold Coast Sheraton a number of times using SPG points but this time was business. Have been SPG member since 1997 and Platinum most of that time. Every SPG hotel I have stayed has an arrangement for free breakfast for elite membersbut not here, even with your new benefits promotion saying you have a buffet for SPG Platinum. Last year I pointed this out to them and got given a bottle of wine as a pacifier. Sadly, again this trip to GC I was told there is nothing for Platinum. "Of course sir, you can pay an extra A$40 for our wonderful buffet breakfast" was the nonsense reply. When I have been an elite member for longer than this kid has been out of diapers, I expect better treatment. It is not difficult to make these special arrangements, but the attitude of this hotel to do so is nonsense. Despite the facilities are nice and near the beach, my wife has indicated she never wants to stay there again. Cost/Performance ratio is well below SPG par. By the way, again, the FOXTEL pay TV system was failing. Since it was not vital for my stay, not an issue for me .... but if one were a guest who checked in just to watch Japan vs Socceroos on FOXTEL, at this hotel's price, that guest would be justifiably very annoyed. Rated 4 out of 5 by first stay after full rennovation Much better athmosphere now and great service at arrival with outside concierge. General service is efficient and polite, not overdone. Rooms are good and comfortable, Bathrooms still lack the necessary comfort (old bath and equipment- maybe difficult to rennovate?) Breakfast service was a bit rough (not so caring and with a feeling of a mass tourist coffee shop service). The Buffet was nice but the standard coffee was poor.; suggest to put automatic coffee machines into service. Dinner buffer was attractive but the 'a la carte' menue a bit boring (I would prefert to go and eat at Fellin in the Marina Mirage). June 2, 2012

Everyone was very friendly and even when our car could not fit under the carpark - the staff went out of their way to find a suitable spot to park (they were so genunine and polite). Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Customer Service This was our second time staying at the Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast, the first time was our honeymoon night 3 years ago, so we decided to come back this year to celebrate our 3rd year anniversary, and boy were we impressed yet again! We were greeted and treated incredibly well. Our room was clean, and a box of chocolates awaited us as requested! We went to Surfers for dinner, and when we came back wanted to watch some television but unfortunately there was a problem with the sound so someone came to check it out and they weren't able to replace the faulty cord so we were upgraded to an executive suite, which was very nice. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet (it is as good as it was 3 years ago!), it must be one of, if not the best, breakfast buffet on the coast! We are making a point to come here every year now to celebrate our anniversary!! May 27, 2012

This time I had dropped to Gold having been Platinum the past few visits but I couldn't detect any difference in the welcome I was given - even the same room as I had had on a previous visit! It was clear that the hotel has had an upgrade since my last visit - the carpets were so new that one could smell them! I found the new décor very calming and peaceful and much to my taste which some seaside resorts don't always address. My slight regret was that the restaurant above Terraces is gone (I think it was gone last time I visited too) which is a shame as for a solo traveller it was more comfortable and intimate than the large Terraces is. However I'll be back! My compliments to the management! May 17, 2012
