Rated 2 out of 5 by laxplat Difficult to sleep
I checked in as a PLT, a friend checked in with no status. We both asked about upgraded rooms. I was not offered any selection but told that my room was the best available. He was offered a few choices and had a much nicer room than me. (and checking for a different date, he did have a much higher category room)
Difficult to sleep as Rum Fire had loud parties until after midnight and I could hear the music, crowd, etc. almost every night.
Clock was broken; called for help and no response for more than 45 min. When I called back, I was told, "it's easier to just have a wake up call than have someone come fix anything."

We had confirmation of an "Ocean View Room" but upon arrival there were none available. We instead got a "City View" room on the 14th floor. Over looked the parking garage and a busy street.
When we checked in the clerk said there were no ocean view rooms and I showed her my confirmation. She took it to discuss with someone else and came back in 15-20 minutes or so and said the same thing, no ocean view room and they would contact me when one became available. This didn't happen either and no one called to say what the problem was. Very disappointed. I would have chosen a different hotel had I know this when the reservations were being made in August.
We were awoken each morning at 6:30 by the trash trucks making all kinds of noise even though we were on the 14th floor.
Being a Starwood member meant nothing to the Hotel.
The Confirmation meant nothing.
Very disappointed by the experience and the facility.

Rated 3 out of 5 by docdoc Just uncomfortable
Great location for Waikiki, but this was the single most uncomfortable hotel room in memory for this frequent traveler. No desk, not one comfortable chair, and poor pillows, with an A/C system that could not keep the room cool in October in Hawaii--all just unacceptable. Food was good, but restaurant service, especially in Kai Market, was just really poor and inattentive. Great lobby--but rooms are not Starwood quality, so do not expect it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Stella12 Great Location
Great location on the beach and in the city. Staff were friendly and accommodating except for a couple of times.Maid service as good. Enough towels. but had to ask them to clean up the deck where birds were doing their business. Went elsewhere for breakfast as too pricey.only a buffet. . All in all ery nice and would go

Rated 2 out of 5 by Waikiki1 Great position, front desk assistance needs improvement
1. Front desk assistance poor during Hurricane Ana - no umbrellas or rain coats available and, the general lack of care and interest - poor attitude towards clients
2. Air conditioner in room poor
3. Room was tired
4. Expect more than just a buffet for the specialty evening dining facility at the hotel

Rated 3 out of 5 by Wendy12345 Hotel with a lot of potential but needs work
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay. We found the hotel to be a great location between two beach areas and the infinity pool was lovely. Our suite was extremely spacious and had a great view, but considering the price was disappointing in some ways. Although we were told it had been renovated, it was out of date and felt old. The amenities were not up to par for that price range or even compared to other hotels that are much less: a little shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion was about all, and we even had to ask for more when these were starting to run out. There were no bath salts, cotton balls, and other things that many nice hotels offer. There were also no robes in the room although they were brought on request. In general, when we complained or requested something the staff responded; they just needed a lot of prodding. We did very much appreciate that the anniversary we were celebrating was recognized in many ways by the hotel, including a gift of champagne glasses and complimentary desserts.
