Rated 4 out of 5 by MG4405 Good property but far from everything
We stayed for 4 nights at this property. The overall property is good but it is really far from the city center and there is not much around this, including eating places since it is in a residential area.
The staff was very good and helpful in recommending places to visit.
The club lounge facility could be better for the Platinum members, comparing against some properties that we stayed in Spain during our vacation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HSWNBC Great stay
Our stay was great. Room was comfortable, and, appeared clean. As a Platinum 75 guest, club room was well stacked. Breakfast in the Club room was great.
Our only dislike was being charged for a rollaway bed for our kid.

Excellent staff - especially front desk
Great pool and gym facilities.
It is some way out of Madrid if that is your main concern but buses, tubes and taxis easily available.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Globetrotter325 Beautiful Room, but a few things didn't match
I was excited when I booked this stay since I've been traveling around the world for 5 months and was looking forward to using the gym, and enjoying services in a full scale hotel. Checking into the room was nice and easy, staff were polite, but I found the most ridiculous disappointments with a hotel of this standard to have.
Firstly, to charge me to use the fitness center is beyond absurd. I booked this hotel specifically to relax, and enjoy a workout with a swim afterwards. To be told that I had to pay $25 to use the gym was a complete shock. Secondly to this, to charge for WiFi in the room again, another $25 is absolutely ridiculous. Hostels even give WiFi for free, it's 2014 after all. Finally, no continental breakfast was offer, and again, another charge of around $25 to have breakfast was again disappointing. While the room was beautiful, spacious, and offered an amazing quality of sleep, the bad taste left by being charged for services that should be complimentary was quite a shame in my experience.
The pickup from the airport was great, as well as luggage stowage, both services that should be standard, and thankfully were.
I will be back with reset expectations of what is included next time around.

Our stay was was very enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got great suggestions for day trips. We were upgraded to very nice executive suite which made our stay very comfortable. The club room offered lots of different food and good selection of alcohol. The pool area is beautiful. A very nice experience and great location to take day trips from because it's not in the middle of hectic downtown

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pepe34 The gym should be free of charge
I'm very disappointed to find that in 5* hotel, like this one, the gym is not free of charge, but costs EUR 18/day!! In any hotel which a stayed in, even 3* hotels, the gym is a facility given to the guests free of charge. I can understand that you can pay a fee for other services, like massages or spa or even the use of swimming pool; but, frankly, this hotel applies very unusually, on the base of my large experience, a fee (very expensive!) to use the gym.

OVERALL IMPRESSION: I had my doubts about the location for visitors coming for the classic sights but the proximity of the metro makes this property an appealing retreat from the more congested areas of the city. The beauty of the property and the pleasantness of the staff more than compensate.
SPG RECOGNITION: Being an all-suite property, there isn’t too much they can add but I was upgraded to the top floor club level - billed as “a hotel within a hotel” and given Club access which, of course, includes breakfast. The staff reception was model and I appreciated the personal Welcome note from the director.
THE ROOM: Absolutely fabulous. Elegantly decorated with Spanish design flair but, at the same time, invitingly homey. Sumptuous pillow-top mattress and down pillows. Handy kitchen corner and dining area. Gorgeous large free-form bath with separate toilet, shower and bath areas. Beautiful view over the Puerta de Europa.
EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS: Free shuttle to and from the airport is definitely a bonus. The Club is elegant. Public areas are very beautiful and feature dramatic atrium-style architecture.
