Rated 1 out of 5 by What a dump This hotel hasn't been updated in forever. Nothing inside fits the Sheraton brand standard. The carpets, bathrooms and walls are soiled and stained. The hotel is very large and there is no personal attention or sense of urgency with the staff. There are lines for everything. They don't even have the regular shower head or bed. There is a very loud and touristy dinner show at the pool at night, so don't plan on falling asleep before 10pm. The food is ludicrously over priced. No SPG recognition beyond a higher floor. No club lounge. Poor wifi signal. Across the street from the beach. Get up early and you'll have all of it to yourself. Sleep in and there won't be a spot to lay down. Hotel doesn't provide anything for the beach though. November 8, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by This hotel is a dump the furniture in my room is mismatched, scratched and inadequate. Storage space is nearly nonexistent and there is no counter in bathroom Bathroom light fixture is corroded. Elevator is filthy. Staffing at registration desk is minimal. My Starwood Preferred line at check-in waited for service much longer than did other guests. My wife and I have stayed at dozens of other Starwood properties and until now have never seen any so dated and tired as this one October 23, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by princess kaiulani This was my third stay here and I was very disappointed in several ways. They had a room ready when I arrived early in the day but I had to downgrade my room to a different building to get it because of electrical problems in the area I reserved. When we returned to our room after 4 pm the next day, room service had still not cleaned the room. The breakfast bufffet was really terrible and over priced. The pancakes were dried out & hard, eggs cold and hard. November 10, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our stay was excellent in every resepct We had stayed in your hotel in previous years and as a consequence arranged to stay with you once again with a request for an ocean view room. We were most impressed by your buffet and domestic staff taking time from the first day to establish our names and then greet us accordingly for the rest of our stay. July 15, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Hotel doesn't understand Platinum level First you didn't have my reservation. Showed my Sheraton reply e-mail with reservation number. Still couldn't find, had to call central reservation. Took 30 min to get the reservation. Booked me am room, asked if it was on the preferred floor, was asked why - because I am Platinum level. Then took another 15 min to get me a room on the preferred floor. Went to room, AC didn't work, called guest services-20 rings later they answered, had maintenance come up and work on the AC. It started working, maintenance left, the AC stopped. Went to front desk asked to move - was told no. Responded that is how you treat you Platinum guest. After going into the back I was moved. Later in the day I stopped by the front desk asking if I get breakfast as a Platinum level - they had to go into the back and find out. Day before checkout I asked for late checkout time, told the person that I was Platinum level - they said no late checkout. I asked to speak to the Manager - front desk person went into the back then came out and said I could have 4:00pm late checkout. I wanted later, but knew your team wouldn't support so I accepted. You need to educate your staff to look for guest status and understand what that should get them. July 15, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by A DUMP in Waikiki The most dilapitated, smelly, worn out major hotel chain in Waikiki that tacks on a large resort charge which is not quoted in the price at time of reservation. As an SPG Platinum member, I didn't receive any special recognition/amenities for free because the hotel charges me for them in their omnibus "resort fee." Room was dirty (liquid under the TV and all over the dresser, clogged bath drain, no laundry bag in the closet, and dirty carpet). Operator is rude and I stood in the "Platinumn/Gold" line for more than 15 minutes while the front desk person made a reservation for a walk-up customer. Would I stay there again? No way! Rated 2 out of 5 by It's not the staff...it's the hotel This is seriously lacking Starwood standards by all means... especially since it's SPG category rated 5! The Good: The staff are excellent! They go out of their way to make sure my needs are met (still at the hotel as I'm writing this review). They're friendly and courteous - excellent welcome from my incredibly busy travel to relax with my family - a reward for us all! The Bad: The hotel is seriously outdated. At first, I started to take note of chipping paints, peeling wall paper, moldy ceiling, stained carpet, dirty bathroom, flies in the buffet (fruit) and pigeons that stare at you on your breakfast table and you have to fend off (protect your meal from the birds!)... I simply ran out of things to note and will just say - this is by far one of the worst Starwood Property that I've stayed at anywhere in the world! SPG - Please Please Please - renovate this property! It is unfair to the staff that try to make up for this serious gap in facility quality and it's incredibly disappointing to us/the loyal SPG customer that choose this property simply because it's SPG vs. other hotels here.... Please... September 4, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by a 39.95 room at best having been a Starwood member for a couple of decades I was insulted and very unhappy with this hotel and room.I usually take most things in stride, but feel that I have earned my platinum level, the hotel needs to be closed and renovated immediately. Yes is is in Waikiki, but the rooms are so out dated and worn, that if they are to be sold it should be for no more than $39.95 a night. July 10, 2014
