I came to Sheraton Changde for a vacation trip in the nearby area (Zhangjiajie) and this is the only SPG hotel closest to that area. SPG recognition is good, as in all SPG hotels in China. Room was upgraded to a suite and the lounge was nice, although food & beverage spending in the hotel was supposed to come with 20% discount for SPG members but it wasn't reflected at the check-out (and I forgot about it too).
English is a challenge at this hotel, during check-in and also when ordering food in-room. It was easier to bring down the menu to the lobby and order. We were lucky that the Duty Manager, Kevin, was around and helped us when we need some guidance.
Location-wise, the hotel is not far from the train station. However, taxis always stop outside of the gate so guests always need to bring their own luggages to the hotel.
Overall, it was a good experience and it would be a much better experience if there is no communication barrier.

I spent two nights at this new Sheraton close to my sister's home, and I am very impressed by this facility. This is simply best category 2 Sheraton I have ever stayed with -- the spacious room, luxury bath-room, huge club lounge, stylish decoration, delicious foods, friends staff, large indoor pool, with Sana and steam room, advanced exercise room... and more, all better than what I experienced in category 3 or 4 Sheraton in the U.S. Highly recommended!

Overall I enjoyed my stay and recommend this hotel. What impressed me the most was their outstanding services - as good as resort hotels or other higher tier hotels. This is THE best hotel in Changde.
Room - Thx for the platinum member room UG. Very nice view of the lake/park while hardware/facilities just ok (many Sheraton hotels in China are very nice). For those who have a sensitive nose, do contact the hotel in adv to get rid of any possible smell (oh well this probably applies to all hotels in inland China). The reservation staff very responsive.
Services: very attentive / friendly / helpful / good smiles etc - basically as good as the resort hotels or upper tier hotels. Outstanding! (all staff I came across. And especially those in the exec lounge)
Executive lounge - large and stylish with a great view of the lake/park. I had breakfast and happy hour there. Really enjoyed the environment.

前厅部副经理Jeff Zhang 和行政酒廊的员工给了我特别棒的入住体验，特别是Katherie,Cherie,Bunny.但一些房间上的小细节也希望在我下次入住的时候有改进，希望家乡的喜来登越来越好。
