I booked a room that stated "Accessible suite, non-smoking:King + Queen Bed, Non -smoking Accessible features" When I checked in I was informed all they had was a king bed with a couch that made into a bed. I had 2 girls that are 13 and my husband and I. That is not what I wanted. The other option was 2 full size beds....not 2 queen beds but full size beds. When you are used to sleeping in a king bed - double will not work. The front desk staff was very young and not knowledgeable about the size of the rooms. He offered to bring up a roll away bed - but there was no room. I asked if he could do anything with the price and he said no but he could give me some points. Had I booked the room I stayed in it would have been $20 less! Not happy. The next morning I asked for a late check-out as we were there for a meeting. The girl was emotionless when I asked her - there was no eye contact and she was not clean. She eventually said ok.....and that was it. When you hear the Sheraton - I used to think class - on the internet they kept mentioning newly remodeled rooms. It would have been nice if they would have turned some of those room into 2 room suites. When traveling with older children it is nice to have two rooms. Had we not been there because we attended the Hockey Game on Friday night and then my husband was attending a meeting there on Saturday morning we would have not stayed!

The hotel is connected to the Sioux Falls Conference Center by an enclosed walkway, which is great if you have an event there. I think the ball field is close by too. The staff that we dealt with was friendly; the lobby/lounge/atrium area was pretty with a waterfall, and the glass fronted elevators were fast. Unfortunately there was no continental breakfast included; no free internet in the room; and no coffee in the lobby.
The bed/bedding was comfortable and clean; the room itself was nice enough but definitely needed better cleaning; there were splatters on walls, hair all over the shower and the drain was plugged and slow. There was no microwave or mini fridge; and the bottles of water next to the coffeepot had $3.95 price tags on them which seems very tacky! Other cons are that it isn't very well sound proofed; there were only 2 towels in the bathroom even though when we booked it we expected to have kids with us; and at 8 A.M. housekeeping woke us knocking on the door to clean, then came back again less than an hour later. On New Years Day! For a room that still cost well over $100.00 with a group rate I expect more.
There is a business center that has free internet; and an indoor pool and fitness center that we didn't see. Mainly because of the lack of amenities at the price I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you were going to the Conference Center and absolutely didn't want to have to drive back to your hotel.

I made the reservation on-line. I rec'd an email confirmation with an option to upgrade. I elected to upgrade for an addl $15. for the Wifi and continental breakfast options. When making the reservations, I wanted two beds and a sofa bed. The description said "two full beds" and in the description it said "sleeper bed" (or something along those lines). I looked at pictures of the rooms to be sure that there, was indeed, a sofa that rolled out. From what I saw, there was a sofa. Apparently, I misunderstood - the sleeper bed is a description of your beds. I had to pay an additional 10.00 to get a rollout. When I asked the front desk staff , they said that none of their rooms had a sofa bed. That was disappointing. Then we discovered that the upgrade was not completed. That was frustrating. If we wanted Wifi, it would be an additional charge, if we wanted continental breakfast, that would be an additional charge. Finally - we went to eat at the hotel restaurant. We waited a very long time for our food. The food was disappointing. The hamburger was burnt to a crisp. There was a long dark hair on one of our plates when it was delivered. A side dish arrived at the moment we were ready to leave. The restaurant was not busy that evening. There really was no excuse. The staff at the "front desk" barely spoke to us. I will say that the beds themselves were comfortable and the room was clean. It was a very convenient location. However, I wouldn't stay here again. The total cost wasn't worth what we did get.

I had purchased two separate nights from an online discount - Keloland Spotlight deals. So, I followed the directions on the voucher for the first night in September that I had booked. I called Annette and left her a message asking to redeem my voucher. No response. Two days later, I called again. No response. My sister booked hers by emailing Annette a day later. I called for a third time in five days and finally caught Annette in the office. I booked my room and explained the package that I had purchased. I was told that I would not be able to have the 4pm checkout but I could check out at 2 pm instead. I received an email confirmation but the amount listed was so low that I sent an email indicating that it might have been the wrong room. No response. When I arrived, they did have me in the wrong room since I had purchased the club level deal. I was also told that I would need to check out at noon. They did allow the 2 pm check out after I indicated that was what I was promised.
Since I had such a poor experience with the registration of the first night, I actually went directly to the hotel on Oct 9 and talked with Annette directly to make the reservation on Oct 25. She assured me that she would make the reservation and email me a confirmation. I never received the confirmation. On Oct 25, I called to confirm my reservation which they did not have. I was then sent to Annette's voicemail at 9 am. I gave her my cell phone number but received no call. I called back at 1 pm indicating that I was suppose to arrive later in the afternoon but I did not know if I had a room. Again, I got Annette's voicemail that indicated that she would be leaving at 3 pm. At 2:45, I called again. The front desk told me that Annette would get back to me in a few minutes and I got her voicemail for the third time. She did call me back. When I talked with her, she said that I did have a reservation. I asked about my sister who was staying as well again, she asked me to spell their last name. It seemed that she didn't have information on their reservation but I don't know that for sure.
When I arrived, I went to check in and the front desk clerk didn't even look at me. It was not very inviting at all. I gave her my voucher and she handed me a key for a room on the third level. I indicated that I had purchased the club level and I had hoped that they had room. She indicated that there was room and gave me a key card that indicated a noon check out. I told her that the deal included a 4pm checkout. The clerk said, "That's only if it's available." I told her that I had made the reservation quite a bit earlier but it was lost. She said nothing, walked away from the desk. When she returned, she asked me to complete a registration form but she never indicated my check out time. I turned and asked but she was already on the phone. Another guest was checking in at a different desk and appeared to be having an issue with her voucher as well.
In the morning, my key was deactivated. I had to have another one made. I loved the hotel facilities but with such horrible service on two occasions, I will not recommend this hotel. I also do not understand the SPG Recognition. If this was something that was supposed to be done at the front desk, it did not happen.

I have been staying on and off at this property for a year now, so I can sum up the good, the bad, and the wrong. This place is beautiful, and now with the updated rooms it could be right out impressive. The rooms are great and as long as you are not facing the atrium or have a connecting room, you should get good sleep. That would be great but I do not stay at Sheraton just to sleep. When I book a Sheraton I expect a good hotel stay with all the amenities that I am paying for.
But then there is the staff. I used to be gold, and was excited to see how I would be treated as platinum on this past stay. The excitement stopped for me when I was handed a key in "you've been upgraded" holder but told that there were no upgrades available. Same story as when I was gold. This place just doesn't upgrade SPG elites. The front desk agent was not aware that there would be any welcome amenity for platinums beyond points, and told me that the local amenity sucks, and that it is just a coaster. I wasn't given an option to even view it in case I would be interested. She said I am already getting double points over gold and that I should be happy about that. Very unprofessional. When I got in the room, apparently the best room available was a connecting room? Sorry, I've done that at this property and you can hear the other guests. I went downstairs and surprisingly there was a better room available. Says in SPG terms that Platinums are to get the best room available, but the front desk was not only not apologetic but as I was turning away they were mimicking me??! As for the club offerings, by far not acceptable. Sad looking appetizers, mushroom salad and mushroom meat/soup or whatever that was. Great for those of us with mushroom allergy. I have never stayed at a Sheraton where the club only has one warm option and a salad. Either way, I figured breakfast in the club would make up for it. What a joke. When my wife and I got there, there was no, and I mean no food left other than some stale cereal. Not even bread to make a toast. The fridge was empty and the entire room was disgusting and dirty. It was stuffy and just plain nasty with dirty tables and food on the ground. I understand the hotel upselling the lounge but you would think when they allow so many people there that they would make up for it with their food options and having some staff attend it and actually replenish and clean? I finally went and complained to the front desk and thankfully the person working there offered to switch us to full breakfast at the restaurant which was about comparable to what other Sheratons in the Midwest offer in their club lounges. I think the owners of this property should make it their goal for their staff to visit several Sheraton properties and club lounges in Minneapolis or somewhere nearby so they can see how they should behave and what Sheraton guests are used to. I will truly re-evaluate my need to stay at this property again. Obviously it is no longer a great hotel for business travelers but rather a hotel interested in getting as many little league teams as possible at the cost of making it uncomfortable for SPG Platinum guests. Either the place is terribly understaffed or the staff are super lazy. I don't get the reason to have a SPG elites check in desk when nobody is ever working it and they only take people on first come fist serve basis anyway. Might as well get rid of the dedicated Gold/Platinum check-in you'd think?
Either way, if you can get over this or not care about any of it (not sure why you'd stay on club level at Sheraton if you didn't care) than yeah, you will get some rest here, but if you expect SPG Platinum treatment from this Sheraton you might want to keep driving and skip this one.
