Rated 2 out of 5 by Extremely noisy I just checked out this hotel today & although the staff was awesome, the noise was unbelievable. It felt like someone was in my room drilling into the ground. I called down 3x and nothing. At checkout the mgr scott asked my room number & proceeded to add my charges. Very disappointed!! January 19, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Extremely Disappointed When I checked in I was impressed with the overall look of the lobby and cleanliness. Little did I know that it ended there. The majority of the staff had bad attitudes and should not be in the hospitality business. With the exception of a few staff, most looked putout and like they did not want to be there. The restaurant service was horrible and over priced. The bed and bedding were great but the guest room could not have been dusted in weeks or months. Lots of dust on everything and fingerprints and smudges on the glass furniture. Lastly, there was one small bar of soap in the bathroom for face and body. November 2, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent staff The staff were particularly welcoming and friendly at this location. The facilities have recently been renovated, although there are clearly some unfinished parts in the lounge. Otherwise, it is a beautiful hotel. The location is VERY quiet at night, as downtown seems like ghost town during those hours. Although the hotel was extremely welcoming of my dog, there was no good space to pee him, as there is little green space around. There is, however, a great little urban dog park a few blocks away. Rated 1 out of 5 by EVEN THE SHEETS HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED! I checked in very late after a Very exhausting day of travel to find that my 1st room had no heat! Tried calling front desk and I was on hold for 10 minutes yet called direct from my cell and they answered right away. Got a new room where there was only 1 towel, no coffee, dirty bathtub and bathroom floor, and a bed that had already been slept in!!! The next day I asked them to clean my room and told them all the problems and all they did was change sheets and leave towels!! Didn't even empty trash! Called for coffee...never delivered as promised! 3 hours later I ask maid in the hall for some and got it. 10pm at night there was loud talking and screaming in the hall and door slamming and at 10:40pm there is a vacuum running next door! I come to find out ALL of the noise had been housekeeping THIS LATE AT NIGHT! I called front desk and they ask me "am I SURE it's housekeeping?" Like customers bring vacuums to hotel? Perhaps we should to this hotel as it was THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!! November 14, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Sheraton Memphis is outdated, dirty and lacks amenities. The Sheraton Memphis is outdated, dirty and lacks several amenities offered by other hotels. The clerk at check-in wouldn't take the time to look up my SFG number, even though no one else was waiting for service. The room had been serviced by housekeeping, however, several pieces of furniture were dirty and the bathroom needed a deep cleaning. Dust was built up on the light fixtures and shelving under the sink. I liked the $5 vouchers for choosing the environmentally friendly option. When I went to the breakfast buffet to use the vouchers, there were ants all over the table in the Magnolia restaurant. When I pointed them out to the server, his only response was that the hotel was working on their bug problem. I moved to another table, without the server offering that as an option, and that table had ants , too. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the Sheraton Memphis and will not choose to stay there again and will likely look at other hotel chains in other cities as well. December 8, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by It's broken I was told that the only available parking was valet and found out later that wasn't true. Got to my room and the door knob was almost impossible to open. Finally got inside and the drapes were stuck shut on all but one tiny window. The room was arranged with the TV to the left side of the bed, way too far from the couch and behind the desk so it wasn't comfortable to watch from anywhere in the room. The shower curtain has no weights or magnets and so makes showering difficult. November 20, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by I hope that I do not need to return I have stayed at this hotel before it was a Sheraton, and it is much worse as a Sheraton than it was before (I have stayed at the property when it was both a Marriott and a Crowne Plaza). The service was beyond terrible, there was blood on my shower curtain upon arrival, the hotel knew there would be 4 people in the room, and there were only towels for 2, I was billed for 3 nights of my stay prior to even checking in, when I needed bell service, I was told that I needed to go to my room, pack and then call, When I did that, and called, I was told that I needed to request this service downstairs in person. The restaurant was completely unprepared for our conference - plenty of seats available in the restaurant but we were told (repeatedly over the course of the 4 days) that the kitchen could not accommodate more diners. The hotel had plenty of time to prepare for our group's arrival (Juice Plus - we are in Memphis almost every fall). In short, this was the second event for our company at a Sheraton, and both stays have been miserable, I will not return to either of these properties if we are scheduled to meet there again, and will stay at a different company's hotel October 31, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing My wife and I stayed here on a drive from New Orleans to Chicago. After a 6 hour drive you need a clean, updated room and a great bed for some recuperative sleep. The room was pretty dated and needed a little further attention to detail on the cleaning side. Musty old wall paper doesn't cut it at these prices. The bed was ok, (though not what I usually expect from a Sheraton)but I was awoken in the night by an insect crawling across my face. When I popped up and reached for a lamp, but the first two I tried had burnt out light bulbs. All this and having to pay an additional fee for parking means we will not be returning to this spot.
