We had a wonderful stay at the hotel during our regional conference. The hotel staff, including the wait staff at Jimmy V's, were very accomodating and the location was superb!

As a Starwood timeshare owner I try to stay in Starwood family accommodations whenever possible. I booked this property using starpoints due to the location of the hotelst which is across the street from the downtown convention center. I arrived at 7:45am for The Original Sewing Expo and was told I would be upgraded to a higher room by lunchtime. I came back at lunchtime and was placed on the 16th floor which is Club Level! That scored a plus for me! I asked for a refrigerator but by dinner time, it wasn't in the room and to my surprise, my luggage was missing! Apparently our room was needed by another guest and I was moved down the hall. I did have to wait for about 20 minutes for a bellman to bring the new room key but to my delight, everything was neatly moved and placed exactly in the same way I left it in the other room. A lovely appetizer plate, bottle of wine, glasses and a handwritten note explaining the circumstances were on my desk. I didn't have time to eat my dinner which I had ordered at Jimmy V's before heading up to my room to drop off some of my day's projects but the bellman took it to my room and placed it in the refrigerator. When I returned at 9:00 the hotel staff happily warmed my dinner and offered to buy me dessert. The music in the streets was happening outside so I chose to venture out and investigate. The homemade cupcake truck and TarHeel Creamery truck were there so dessert was especially delicious! The next day I had a delicious club level breakfast and a late checkout after my classes were finished at 4. I even had time for the snacks in the Club before heading home. The staff at this hotel went out of their way to accommodate me and even charged my phone at lunchtime because I had forgotten my charger. I can't wait to come back when the Durham Performing Arts Center Broadway season begins this fall! Thank you to Preston, Austin, Sarah and all who helped my stay be so enjoyable!

I was traveling with an associate. I have Starwood status and her room was available, but mine was not. As it turned out - her room had a broken toilet that we did not discover until 9:00pm because we had gone out to dinner. So upon returning, she had to wait to get comfortable in her room until after 10:00 when the toilet was fixed. No real "valet parking". Staff will park accross the street and bring you your keys. When I asked only directions given were "the cars are accross the street. Overall just not the friendliest staff or nicest experience. Disapointed at best.

Hotel was nice and lobby area was clean. Room was dusty and carpet was badly sod. Vent in bathroom was completely matted in dust. Customer services could use some help except for front desk staff.

Christine (VIP services) and Sharon in the Club Lounge--both were awesome and made our visits to the club lounge enjoyable. They also sent a wonderful gift to our room to celebrate Patty's birthday!! Totally unexpected and greatly appreciated.
Overall, it is one of the best hotel teams we have had the pleasure to meet in our many years as Starwoods Members.

The staff was wonderful except one front desk person. The room was dirty and expensive. The hotel was loud because of the ambulance station that is located next door. The halls were noisy most of the night because of the running and screaming of other guest.

this is the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I stay at a lot of SPG hotels as a platinum member. Firest, my family was sleeping in bed when another family walked into our room. The hotel had given our room to someone else. I called down to the front desk and they were aware of what happened and said sorry but nothing else. We then left our room for dinner only to return to our keys not working. When they made the mistake, it deactivated our room keys but no one ever proactively told us or brought us new keys. The front desk then said management would call me and offered me 2000 bonus points, I never got a call fromt management and never received my bonus points (this is two weeks later). the water in the hotel was orange. I filled the tub twice and it was bright orange in color.

We stayed at this hotel for the first time over the weekend after seeing a concert at the Red Hat Amphitheater. Very nice facility with comfy beds and walking distance. We parked our car and forgot about it. Very friendly staff each time we were greeted. I highly recommend staying here!

Excellent location in downtown and walking distant to Convention Center. When I was stay here, hotel was fully booked because couple groups of convention staying in this hotel,.The hotel was super busy, unfortunately 1 of the 3 elevators was out of service, therefor, it was taking forever waiting for elevators to go up and down. A lot hotel guests need to take service elevator to get to their rooms, so inconvenience. The Management totally was not prepare for this event.

I stayed there for AENC conference with our team. When we checked in Two guest service reps were working the desk. Once I provided my information they did not tell us where we can park, where the rooms was, what type of rooms it was. We manage to find parking accross the street in a garage. We had reservation for room with two beds since I was sharing a room with my colleague. When we went to the room it had one bed. At that time my room key had my original rate $ 169 written on it. I called the front desk and they sent someone with a key to another room. This key card did not have rate listed on there. Next day, before we went to the conference we tried using the business center computers to check e-mails but none of the stations were working. When we checked out, i noticed that my rate was changed to $ 269. I spoke to the supervisor (with glasses) and he said that my rate did not change and only portion of my rate was pre paid (as i had booked prepaid rate $ 169). We come to conferences Raleigh area every year and will not be staying at this hotel again.

I must say the hotel was centrally located for our weekend needs and the service in the hotel was good! However, The room left me with a dirty feeling.. Mold/dirty grout in the bathroom! The Sunday breakfast was horrible! I'm am considering notifying the local Heath department on this experience! Employees handing ready to eat food with their bare hands after rubbing their nose and dirty aprons! Food on the buffet cold, dry and very low quality (this is a management issue). I bought the cold food to their attention...NO ONE even checked the temperature of the food! The waiter told the manager and he walked way!!! We had almost beg for the waiter to bring coffee, cream, syrup and he did we have a hard time getting refills! Either there is a lack of training or poor management. Our party of 12 walked away from this location rather dissatisfied! The dining experience was unacceptable. One other thing..If your Restaurant is going to offer a Sunday Buffet..then you should do it right..offer cooked to order eggs/omelets etc. another poor management decision. No memories created here!

First we reserve a rollaway bed 2 months ahead of time and when we arrived it was given to somebody else and nothing was available. The room was noisy you could hear the water in pipes through the wall. The room was dusty; and when we are in the room the cleaning lady opened our room saying she needs to clean because the room is noted dirty well it was dusty. No sheets were available when we requested extras . We were also billed for the rollaway bed we did not get; thank God we checked the bill.

I expect more from a full service hotel. I can pay $60 less a night to stay at a competitor hotel that is much less ritzy.... but this competitor would offer free wifi in the room, and a complementary breakfast. At a full rate, we should get wifi and at least bagels and coffee.

Over the past 10 years, I've really enjoyed staying at this property. However, because the turnover is excessive, it is rare to see a familiar face at check-in or during my stay. Therefore, if there are issues that need attention, you are generally not treated as a loyal patron unless a certain customer service/front desk manager is on duty. For the most part, the newly hired front desk staff are friendly and courteous; however, if customer service/front desk managers are rude and uncompromising, the front desk staff will think it's okay to treat patrons that way. I realize that customers are not always right, but loyalty should always be considered.

I come to Raleigh once a month on business and plan to stay at this hotel each time.

The maid service was very sub-par. Our bathroom was not throughly cleaned, garbage not emptied, water and glasses not replaced. Most annoyingly was the fact that the toilet paper was not replaced and correspondingly we had to go to the front desk to ask for more.

Let me first say we live 20 minutes from this hotel. We decided to take a "fake vacation" in order to let me daughter swim in the heated pool, and be downtown Sunday morning for an event. Here is a list of the failures by this hotel:
1. Checked in, asked for late checkout, and was granted. However, I was not informed there was a charge.
2. Went to room, keys did not work
3. Went got new keys, asked where pool was. Told then that the heater was broken on their heated pool, (the main reason we selected it).
4. Loud and obnoxious guests in the hall at 2am. A call to security seemed to do nothing. Worse that Vegas!
5. Multiple calls to customer service to talk to them about the pool. Circular conversation, with them saying that maintenance was going to fix it. (never did)
6. At this point, my customer bill says that I have been charged my room rate, plus $45.00. This number equates to nothing I can find n the website, and my bank account has been charged 25 additional dollars, which also equates to nothing I can find.
At this point, if I am not offered a refund, or another night stay for later in the year, Or points on my account,I will NEVER stay at another Starwood property.

We enjoyed our stay. In town for the animazement convention. Hotel is located directly across from the Raleigh Convention Center. All we had to do was walk across the street. Great restaurants w/in short walking distance and parking was also across the street. We didn't have to move our vehicle till we were leaving. Nice room, looking forward to 2015 event. Hubby already said we will absolutely stay @ this hotel again.

Toilet would not stop running because the flapper was so deteriorated that it came loose every time the toilet was flushed. The shower temp was difficult to adjust and low water pressure. .

We were pleased with the hotel overall, however the Bar located inside the hotel is not acceptable. The staff, 4 of them let us sit there for 15 mins before seeing to our needs. Tha bar was empty except for me and my wife. Got a round of drinks and that was the last we saw of our server. we asked one of the other tenders to close us out a they said they could not, we had to wait for our server who was on break. Another 15mins later we left. the bill was 18.00 dollars and with tax should have been 19.21, but the bill showed a 15% tip added and it was neither earned or deserved. I asked the front desk about it and they stated that the bar was not supposed to add tip without knowledge.

Would NEVER go back. Came in for my brothers wedding. The room was dirty. Black mold in the shower. Dirty hand prints on the bathroom door. I went and got Clorox wipes to clean it. The shower stopped up and would not drain. But that is not the worst part. On Friday night a group of teachers came in for a conference. My children and I were woken up at 1am from them yelling in the hallway and slamming their door. Called to the front desk and they sent someone up. We were woken up again the next night at 1am and again at 3am. Called the front desk and she said well we can move you!!!!

Parking situation is not good. Neither is check in. No one to aid in the garage vouchers when you pull up around the back makes traffic jams and a dangerous situation. Having to park, then go in, then go back out to car to get luggage is too much of a process when you can't leave your car in the roundabout. Staff was not friendly and quite dismissive. Cleaning staff was very nice, but our room had a funny smell. Also when I made the reservation I was not able to remove the deposit from the original credit card I used to place the hold even though I was told that I would.

I just stayed last night and must that I was very disappointed that you did not have valet service. I got in late (11pm) and had to leave my car out front, walk upstairs to check in, walk downstairs and drive car around the block to park in a structure and then go up to room. Very disappointing.

Room 1328: At first glance, everything seemed to be fine. But, when I started taking my shower, I noticed a yellow stain on the bottom of the tub near the drain. I turned around and then noticed discoloration of the grout lines along the back corner of the surround. As I was drying off, I notice the paint was peeling from the inside bottom of the bathroom door. And, the exhaust fan was noisy and only marginally effective. Finally, for the first time in my life of many hotel stays, my wife and I got stuck in the elevator.

Difficult time additional night to reservation
Told we could switch credit card charges to my husbands card at check out...were not able to do that.
Room needed vacuuming..sat on floor with grandson and got up full of lent...
Service and quality of food at Jimmy V's was not good Sunday am...
Valets were not at front door at check in...standing inside..,.did not open door for me with all that luggage in my hands...no valet parking...very inconvenient check in upstairs from arrival area...just not a good set up...just overall disappointed...will not stay there again.
