-Customer service orientation is poor: hotel staff does not think ahead ie. seeing guest come down to lobby with luggage and ask to assist/ call for taxi.
-Hotel infrastructure is bad. Due to 'network being down', I was asked to pay cash for my room service.
Additionally, was not given a detailed bill for the same reason.
This is very much a last decade type of issue, not befitting China's high availability of internet nor SPG brand.

I checked into Sheration Xian Feng Hao road on 3 Mov 2014 and check out on 6 Nov 2014.
I ordered the set menu - pork knuckel served with mashed potato and sauerkraut with 500 milli litres of Pceussen beer.
However, at the point of time when i ordered, I have informed the staff that i dont drink beer, wine or liqor. I was told that they can removed the charges for the 500 ml beer.
Having heard that, i proceed with the order. However, when the bill came, I signed off the bill and it charged to my room.
When i checked out and back to my country, I realized that I was charged the full amount of rmb 138. That amt is inclsive of tax ( before tax was 120 RMB) AS PER THE SET MENU.
I write to reqest for an inviestigation and detailed explanation on the above.

Management getting bad to worst, despite my prior complains of not getting upgraded to a suite when one is available, the hotel makes me feel like a second class platinum guest. Gave me room 737, while my colleague who is also a platinum member gets a suite in room 701.

This hotel has great training, the staff really go out of their way to make you feel at home and anticipate your needs. The hotel itself is located in the old north town, so there is enough around it to explore. Great eateries within walking distance, and the hotel restaurants are also good if you don't feel like exploring.

Fantastic hotel in Xian! The only downside is that it’s not central – the city center is a 10 minute cab ride away, which ran me $2-3 each way. All the staff I’ve dealt with have been extremely friendly and accommodating. I was upgraded to an Executive Suite, and check-in was performed in my room. The room is spacious and despite some spots in the carpet, pretty clean. It wasn’t renovated, but it’s still much better than your average Sheraton, so I had no complaints. The toiletries are the usual Sheraton items, and I’ve got at least half a dozen bottles of water scattered throughout my room.
Unfortunately, my Executive Suite smelled of burning plastic/rubber throughout the night. The next day, I was moved to a renovated apartment suite. No smell, but the layout is absolutely baffling. It’s a very small suite, and has no desk. A round table in the living room is placed near the window, but the power sockets are several feet away. So unless you have a long cord for your laptop, you’re out of luck. Trash cans are not very well located either, but after rearranging the furniture, I was good to go. Still, I found the room to be a bit cramped – these rooms could use less furniture.
The Executive Lounge puts out a very impressive evening spread. Salad bar, cheese plates, about a dozen different types of food, and a good alcohol selection. You can easily have dinner here. Plats can have breakfast in the lounge or downstairs in the restaurant. Afternoon tea consists of two jars of cookies. Was expecting a bit more there.
The gym is well equipped, and is open 24/7 via keycard access. It is staffed during daytime hours. No problems with Internet speeds. I booked a massage downstairs, and it was excellent. Prices are high though – about the same as that in the US. Despite the location, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to other travelers.

The room they gave me had a strong musty smell. The 2nd room they gave me had an A/C system that did not work. It had to be 85 in the room all night with windows that are sealed.

Although property is old and need significant upgrade, the service at this location makes up for the age.
Friendly and exhibition of genuine care are exhibited by sertvice and management staff.
Recent renovation for the fitness facilty and executive lounge brings this hotel to par with other 5-star properties in the area.
Upgrades to the HVAC and plumbing systems are a must.

I have lived in the hotel for almost 5 years and I'm still coming back monthly on business trips.
I know all 5-star hotels in Xian and have tried several over the years, this is however still the best choice, both for business and leisure stays. The staff makes the difference, giving you the feeling of truly being at home. Great service awareness, cultivated in over 20 years experience in hotel management.
As one of the 5-star hotels in Xian, management is trying hard to adjust facilities to the level of the large number of new hotels opening up in town: completely renovated floors, up-to-date executive lounge, well equipped gym and SPA facilities and opening up soon the large new pool. Lobby-bar offers filipino live-music Monday to Saturday and is a great place to meet other travellers, long stay guest or locals.
Direct surroundings of the hotel don't offer much entertainment, shopping or international dining. However, it is an ideal location as a gateway to airport (35 minutes), the old city's west gate (5 minutes) and the High Tech zone (10 minutes).
