Rated 2 out of 5 by Nosleep Still have not found the right place to stay at ATL airport
Smelly room. Room appeared clean but did not smell very good. Musty and smokey smell.
Toilet stopped up a few times.
No upgrade (SPG/DL crossover rewards) - I dropped from SPG Plat to Gold to nothing this year....was very happy when Crossover started as I have had nothing but good experiences till this time. Apparently this hotel does not know about or recognize crossover....did not know about free internet and did not get upgrade. I will again be gold soon so no worries.
Did not get make a green choice points - don't offer a program you can't administer.
I've stayed at several hotels near ATL recently and I must say this one is not making the short list.

Rated 3 out of 5 by WWUG13 Conference Stay 2013
I attended a 3 day conference at this hotel and the "class rooms" were uncomfortably cold, it was hard to focus on what I was trying to learn because I was so cold, it wasn't just me it was everyone. The WiFi connectivity in the "class rooms" was really poor, half of just about every class was wasted on "rebooting" or having to wing the class by not being able to view the presentation. The room dividers did not muffle the noise in the connecting "class rooms" thus making it hard to follow the speaker. Hotel should have posted cab fares. The airport shuttle was always on time and fast and the staff was one of the best and friendliest of any hotel I have ever stayed at.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TheMrs123 Vu & Tristan make this hotel
I booked this hotel SOLELY based on the reviews I saw about Tristan. I knew I wanted to stay at a hotel that provided excellent customer service and this hotel seemed to fit the bill. Here is a breakdown of my experience.
Location: Hotel is THIS close to the airport! It was an easy ride to get there and they offer a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport.
Hotel: Nice, clean lobby, nice gift shop
Parking: Very reasonable at $10 per day
Staff: Again, Tristan and Vu were EXCELLENT! In fact, I needed to print out my boarding pass but all of the computers were being used so Vu logged onto my account and printed my boarding pass out for me. I thought that was a fantastic touch!! Tristan was also very helpful when I had a little bit of an issue (I'll talk about that in a bit). I also got room service and Sally (the name on the receipt) was very sweet.
Restaurant: The restaurant is called 1900 Grill. After a long flight and checking in, my friend and I were hungry. We walked into the restaurant and saw two women talking. They both looked in our direction, turned back to face each other and kept talking. After about a minute, I said, "Hello?" After ANOTHER 10 seconds, Lori (who ended up being our server) said do you want to sit? In my head I was thinking...NO...we just want to stand here and listen to the rest of your conversation but instead I said yes. The woman she was talking to (brown long hair with straight bangs) said well you can't sit over there (pointing), you have to sit in the back. Ok...no problem. I asked for the Island Spiced wings, which were on the menu but was told that they ran out of the spice for the wings. We ordered something else, ate and left. The food was decent BUT the customer service left a bad taste in my mouth.
Rooms: Standard rooms. My room was outdated; peeling wall paper, slightly stained carpet, dirty walls, dusty. After spending the whole day out, we got back to our room at 6:00 PM only to find it wasn't cleaned. It was very frustrating because we wanted nothing more than to get a hot shower and rest before going back out. I called the front desk and explained my story to Tristan. He said he would take care of it. We left the hotel for about an hour; came back and just like he said, it was taken care of. The room was clean!
My towel had brown stains on it; I only noticed it AFTER wiping my face and it disgusted me. I can only pray it was not a bodily fluid stain!! YUCK!!
My wash rag had a tiny (take a guess) hair on it!! I noticed that as I was soaping up the rag! DOUBLE YUCK!!
In all, this hotel has great potential. It definitely is in a fantastic location and very close to everything including a Ruby Tuesday across the street. I would recommend but next time I am bringing my own towels and wash rags.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rudy209 nice hotel
this hotel is very nice. I had but one issue, but if not for the excellent bar staff this was really made a none issue. They had two bar tenders on late as we arrived late. We were hungry and wanted something to eat. The restaurant was closed and they only served food at the bar. We decided to order along with several other couples who arrived late. Well these two girls where the bar tenders, waitress, cooks and servers. They never got flustered or upset. They did a wonderful job. I think maybe they should of had some help. My food was very good and warm. Hang on to those two gals. The stay was nice. rooms where very comfortable.

Five co-workers and myself were attending a business meeting and booked our rooms at this Sheraton.
It was a great experience except the fact that even though it was 35 degrees out side it was a constant 72 plus in the room.
This facility uses a chiller system and the thermostats on the wall are basically fake. There are large cracks under the door to allow air movement through out the building. You cannot adjust the temp in your room.
The staff were super nice and apologetic but the room was still hot. After moving to different rooms several times they finally brought us an isolating fan to circulate the hot air.
Trying to sleep just made us Hot and Bothered.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LauraP Staff was GREAT!
Everyone I encountered was helpful and friendly! I spoke to at least three different folks at the front desk during my stay, and was always greeted with a smile. The woman at the "cafe" was delightful, and even staff that I was simply passing in the hall were quick to smile and say hello. It certainly made me feel welcome!

Rated 2 out of 5 by seadawg18 Do not keep your reservations as requested
I had made this reservation for September 2013 back in January. The reservation was for a king size bed. Reservation was confirmed by e-mail in January and on the night I arrived it was not until about 11pm because my flight did not get in till then. At the hotel they told me they had given my room away and all they had left was a twin. With both my wife and I in this small bed it was not enjoyable. We were not able to get a good sleep.
Seems even if you reserve a room 9 months in advance they will not keep it for you. Will never stay in this hotel again. Pick on another chain first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cruizer Enjoyed Sheraton Gateway Atlanta Airport
This is a great hotel and I plan on returning. Appreciated the AAA - Automobile Club discount! Did not appreciate the rules concerning "Make a Green Choice" - as I did not use any janitorial or linen changes for the full 3 nights - yet was only able to 'earn' for 2 of the nights. If I had known this, I may have not even attempted to use the program. This was a disappointment - allow a guest to earn as they stay (not within your rules) - and why I rated the 'facilities' portion as only 'good.'

The room had no refrigerator or microwave. Toilet plugged easily and when trying to report it the phone didn't work. Even if it did work you had to pay a lot for a local call. There was a 2 inch gap at the bottom of the door so it was noisy when people walked by. Room service left the breakfast tray in the room for over 24 hours. No good place to have a cigar and drink except a terrace with steel chairs. The food was really lacking and the conference chairs were very uncomfortable. The conference rooms were not well insulated so you could hear events in adjoining rooms, very distracting. What an old run down hotel this place is. Even the sign had a dark letter so the name read "Shera on".

Rated 3 out of 5 by MWFT Good customer service, room cleanliness needed work
Fantastic customer service, especially at the front desk. They even called a local restaurant to confirm whether or not they were televising a sports game I wanted to watch. Restaurant staff was also friendly and attentive.
Fitness center was great, machines up to date and in good working order, good free weights section, ample room and amenities.
The room cleanliness was definitely not up to par however. There were stains on the sheets and comforter, food particles on the floor that hadn't been vacuumed, and the bathroom sink had gunk built up around the faucet and stray hairs that someone had shaved and not cleaned up. I expect more from Sheraton in terms of room cleanliness, but otherwise an ok stay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Billbo Remodeled beautifully
I was at this hotel for a convention on a Saturday for a one day convention. It has been remodeled beautifully. The sleeping room was very nice & healthy wo smelly formaldehyde carpet and the main resturaunt food was very good & fast but more quick food options right outside the convention site with more tables and chairs needed to be available right outside the convention site before and during the convention since food was not provided during the convention. The buffet following the afternoon convention in the evening was very good. Hotel personnel waiting in the entrance lobby to help people with questions when arriving for the convention was very helpful and they were very pleasant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cathy776 Convenient Location
Very convenient to airport, with hotel shuttle buses running frequently. Room was comfortable, bed very comfortable, bathroom very small. All staff very pleasant. Rooms very quiet, airplanes fly very close to hotel but can hardly be heard. The rooms seem to be more sound-proof than other hotels, because noise from neighboring rooms is very muffled or even unnoticeable. It would be nice to have a more affordable restaurant on-site, as the 1900 Bar and Grill is very pricey. A more affordable option would be to walk across the street to Ruby Tuesday. All in all, a comfortable stay, and I would return again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DPSmiles Great Lobby and Staff
We have been staying here for 4 years. 5-6 times in the fall during football season. The property has gone downhill quite a bit. Rooms are in desperate need of updating! Phone to lobby did not work. Shower was luke warm at best. No menus in the rooms for room service. While the bed and bedding had been updated the rest of the room was quite dirty and left alot to be desired. TV stand/cabinet was falling apart. Had to make a trip from the 12th floor to have them quiet the kids in the room next door, which they never addressed.
Our stay last weekend was somewhat disappointing and I am not sure if we will be back.
Restaurant was terrible. I paid $27 for a Cobb Salad - the avocado, cheese and bacon they were out of. Club lounge was very clean and friendly staff in the morning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CCradio104 Hotel was fine but beware of transportation
I stayed at the hotel on a layover from the airport. We got in late and my wife, who was pregnant and naseaus, needed something to eat and was not up for walking. The closest place was a restaurant directly accross the street from the hotel. (Although the next day I noticed a cafe sign in the hotel so they may have had food. Not sure, I wasnt told about it when asking the front desk.) The desk told us the hotel shuttle might not take us down their driveway so I had to use his friend at the cab company. $8!!!! to go to the end of the driveway! Horrible taxi partner that preys on tourists. Be carefull!

Rated 3 out of 5 by PageantPenny Great staff, good room, poor facilities
The staff were exceptional. Everyone answered my questions and were friendly. However, I did not like the fact that there were only 4 elevators for the 12 floors during this busy event. We were almost late for a couple of our competitions. We tried the stairs and they did not lead us to the ground floor. Only the staff stairs were accessible to the ground level and were not supposed to be used by guests. No vaccuming was done during our three days but housekeeping made sure we had plenty of towels, toiletries and coffee. Would like to have had a fridge as part of the amentities without charge.

Rated 1 out of 5 Unsatisfactory Service
While the hotel and physical facility were fine, the service levels from the personnel were severely lacking. We were unable to find front desk representatives when needed and the airport shuttle service was unreliable. Hotel employees were not attentive to guests and were rude when sought out for assistance.

Rated 2 out of 5 by TheCritiquer61 Quality needs improvement
The quality of food offered in the Club Lounge is not what i expected. We have been at this hotel every year in January for the same meeting and I was appalled at the lack of quality food for breakfast and the evening snack. This is certainly not the quality of expectation. Also, the computer in the Club Lounge never worked. The Internet was down and was never restored during my 9 day stay. I reported it the first day I arrived and when I left it still had not been repaired. The internet was non-functional several times in the hotel lobby as well. The staff was very friendly even working under the constraints that exist in this hotel. Unless the quality improves I will not stay next year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ajm33 great view of the planes landing from the club lounge
i enjoyed the sereness of the lobby area with its water feature, natural lighting and fresh flowers - great area to read and grab a cup of coffee. even though it is an airport hotel i did not experience any jet noise from my room or the lobby. it is an older hotlel and did notice a few bruises on the property but the staff was gracious and accomandating - first impressions are often lasting impressions and LaSonja at the front desk hit a homerun. a major problem for me was the fitness center - no free weights or kettle balls - not everyone is that into cardio - and was a bit puzzled why the bathroom door was locked - had to leave the fitness center. overall, enjoyed my stay at a great price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ytalks Update & Improved Service Needed Now
Restaurant staff was woefully slow, and the menu was sub-par. Our party walked across the street to a chain restaurant as a much better option.
The elevators are slow... might seem a little ticky-tacky, but these are pretty bad.
While the lobby looks nice, that is where the extent of the acceptable decor ends. Guest rooms are outdated with phones from the 80s, and air-conditioning that just didn't cut the mustard.
We also held a meeting on the property. While the on-site meeting staff was curteous and quick to meet our needs, the meeting room's carpet was made of individual carpet squares that were not glued down, kept curling up, and created a significant tripping hazard.
All in all, find a different hotel to stay at, ... and the Sheraton brand should be embarassed at this property.

Everyone was very nice except for the woman in the Club Lounge. She was sitting and reading the newspaper when I entered for breakfast 12 minutes before it ended. She was visibly put out and there was only a few scrambled eggs, one slice of bread, no bacon, very little OJ, no yogurt and a few pieces of melon left. I had to request she get more bacon which she did reluctantly and kept repeating, "We close in 5 minutes". If you close in 5 minutes (which was really 10-11, then I would think that mean you are open. She DID have her tip plate displayed! Other people came and she was very upset.

Rated 2 out of 5 by blahblah98 Awful service
I have stayed in this hotel three times(not my choice) and I have had multiple problems every time. The internet, besides having to sign up every single day(activation code never works), it is stupidly slow. I have to wait at least 10 minutes for the water to warm up before taking a shower. The toilet never flush well. The printers in the facility are either not working or out of ink. Last time I had to wait, 2 hours for them to clean up my room and get it ready, even though I told them my arrival time before hand. I could go on for a while, but you get the point.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mommaT This hotel is fine if there is not a convention or any event where everyone has to be somewhere at a certain time...
The hotel was fine as far as staff and being clean however, the elevators are not able to carry everyone at the hotel for a convention, pageant or any event where everyone has to be somewhere at a certain time OR as far as checking out of the hotel after the event is over. The stairway doors set off an alarm every time they are opened and it is impossible to carry all of your luggage down 9 flights of stairs!! We were at the hotel for a beauty pageant and you had to leave your room and wait for an elevator for approx. 10 minutes just to get to the 2nd floor where the pageant was being held in the ballroom. That is the only complaint we had about the hotel but that is enough to keep us from going back there.

The guest room smelled like mold; i asked for a 7:00 a.m. wake call for the morning of June 20th and never received it - when I checked in on the afternoon of the 20th I was asked if I wanted a wake-up call and I gave her the time - she said "one less thing to worry about, your wake-up call is done" and then I never received it; every time i went to the snack bar on the Lobby floor no one was there and when there was someone there and I wanted a glass of wine, I had to go to the bar to get it and then was told they only took credit cards - i put up a little fuss and they took cash.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SilviaFan Silvia is a blessing!
I frequently stay at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Atlanta. Sheraton is very fortunate to have Silvia working as their front desk check in agent. I always hope she will be the one to check me in. She knows just what I need and has everything ready and waiting when I arrive. Silvia always addresses me by my surname, which I always find very respectful. Last week when I stayed there, I was in need of a stamp. I tried the hotel gift shop but they were out. Silvia offered me one of her very own stamps. This went above and beyond the call of duty! Sheraton, you have a gem of an employee!

Rated 1 out of 5 by bruce07 disappointed this visit
I rarely write an unsatisfactory review, but I recently stayed at Sheraton Gateway and everything was great. Beds were comfortable, clean and the bathroom was very nice. This visit, the bed pillows smelled, the bed skirt was half off the bed on the floor, and the bathroom trash can had trash in it , candy wrappers. I felt like overall the room was unclean. I love the convenience of the Park and Fly service and I will stay with Sheraton Gateway again. However, I thought you would like to know about the condition of the room so hopefully the next guest will not be disappointed. Thanks

Rated 1 out of 5 Just Sad
Im not sure why this property is even open. Paid extra for club floor on to have a commode that felt like it was going to fall over. Noisy hallways and room. Bar that closes at 11:45pm. And the gall to charge 4.00 for coffee if you didn't order the oh so sad buffet. How can screw up gravy in the south. Curdled and greasy. Way over cooked scrambled eggs and a sloppily attired waiter. And upon check out and noting the issues I received "free" parking. But upon exiting the lot the card I was given for free parking didn't work so I had to put out a final 12.00 to end a horrible stay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lynn67 This hotel exceeds expectations
The hotel is beautifully designed with rich, welcoming colors, textures and furnishings as you arrive. The staff was immediately attending to a tired travelers needs. The room I stayed in was also a welcoming
fresh and restful decor.
The bed offered comfort for royalty with it's plush comforter and selection of pillows.
Everything about my stay exceeded my expectations. I was delighted with the above average coffee service in the room and the little cafe in the lobby area!
I will definately recommend this hotel to friends and look for similar Sheraton's in my future travels.

While I opted to help the hotel "Go Green", in the four days I was there, my bed was NEVER made. On the third day of the bed not being made, garbage not emptied, same towels used, I went to the front desk to inquire about what "Go Green" entailed. I was told that they should have made the bed, changed the towels, refilled the coffee, and emptied the trash (which at this point was overflowing). The front desk personnel seemed unphased by my astonishment of the lack of service (barely looked up from the computer screen). Someone came up with fresh towels and emptied the garbage about 20 minutes later. Next day, no one came to the room again. At least make the bed and empty the garbage! In addition, this was on the club level!

I Love staying at the Sheraton Gateway Alanta Airport Hotel. The staff are very friendly & accommodating. The decor is neat & clean. The rooms are clean & comfortable and the lobby area is never crowded and noisy. However, I prefer to book my group events directly with the Hotel Sales Staff rather than the Reservations department. Dealing with the hotel directly I've found is less of a hassle and there is better communication. I don't have to worry about mishaps and miscommunications as I have in the past with the Reservations Group Sales Dept.
