Rated 1 out of 5 by SPG status recognition Platinum lounge is minimal, crowded and poorly staffed. Staff is unresponsive to complaints. SPG status means very little to hotel staff. Very poor experience this time. September 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by While the location is great...... When myself or my family visit Hong Kong, we tend to stay at this hotel for only one reason - location. Other than the review title-forementioned reason, this hotel is ok from value-pricing perspective - it is normally $300-400 US/night, for the rooms that are quite small. The club lounge is lagging in many ways, when compared with other similar Sheraton or SPG properties in Singapore, Syndey (AU), Bangkok or Guangzhou. The choice of the food is very limited, and sitting areas are really cramped. As for recognition for Platium members, it is fairly periodic for any good or decent room upgrades. For this particular stay, my family and I booked two rooms, and both rooms ended up facing an apartment building which is less than 20 metres away, which meant that we had to close the window shades (both thick and think shades) all day long. As for breakfasts, while it is nice to have two complementary breakfasts for platinum members, my family had to pay extra for persons that above the two-people limit. Other SPG property does offer alternative complementary breakfast at Club Lounge, however, this hotel does NOT offer ANY breakfast at SPG Platinum Lounge. I do think that Sheraton needs to review this property for its compliance to Sheraton SPG standards for many of these above facets of a platinum member's stay. Again, if the location demands the premium for nothing else, and you are willing to pay for it, then this is the hotel to stay in Hong Kong. September 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Stay in Hong Kong Amazing! I brought my family to Hong Kong, including my 5 yr old son, and our stay at the Sheraton was easily the high point. Hotel staff upgraded our room on check in to an luxurious suite with a view of the Harbor. The gym and pool were likewise opulent. Throughout, the hotel staff made us fell welcome and helped out whenever we needed to go somewhere or find something. Definitely an A++++ (This was frankly a little unexpected after dealing with SPG Customer Service in Singapore to whom I would give 0-1 stars. Glad they don't run the hotels. Wonder why they're allowed to interface with customers.) October 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Internet I found that there is no automatic connection to the internet in the room not good enough. Most people have iPads and don't use Ethernet connection. To go down to the designated area poor and I was there for 8 nights and it wasn't until day 7 before I got a full understanding of how to open the net with my room # and surname. Great hotel but get with the times October 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great place for business travel I had a great time at this hotel! took advantage of the SPA and had a great massage! Also loved the views form the pool to the city across the Bay! Easy to leave hotel to walk around to enjoy the local food and attractions. Can't wait to come back and bring the family. October 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great place to stay everything was nothing less than great. did make a comment that the bed was a little hard for our taste. we are going to stay there again and pass on how great it was to other people we know. one other thing needs to be said and that is how great, nice and devoted the staff is to making your stay enjoyable. Rated 3 out of 5 by Overpriced The hotel is overpriced for what is being offered. Very small room and the restaurant price is very high compare with similar restaurant. October 1, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible Platinum Benefits I have been a Platinum SPG member for many years and stayed at this hotel many nights on many occasions. The benefits accorded are atrocious -- they sit you in the buffet breakfast area but only let you have continental breakfast. The waitress points out what you can and cannot have. They push you to upgrade for hot food. At a minimum, Platinum members should be given free breakfast or lounge access w whatever breakfast is offered there. I have been upgraded only 1 time to a suite. In the lounge, they push fountain drinks. Pool area is nice. But this is clearly a joint that tries to keep costs and service as low as possible.
