Rated 3 out of 5 by old hotel I advise you to read everything about the hotel and check the schedules of buses to and from the hotel and especially the airport. Superior room - a dull room, not running computers in the sheraton link, location at the intersection of highways. Close to nothing. The hotel shuttle bus service to and from Fiumicino Airport 5 euros, to the city of 3 euros return for free (to the historic city center) will return to the Sheraton only when will find bargain price May 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by The shuttle was handy Once we figured out where the shuttle was waiting at the airport--could use better signs at the airport--it was a hassle-free stay in Rome for us. In addition, there was city shuttles through the day that were really convenient! And once we figured out how to get to the Metro from the hotel, we had a few options to get into the city centre. Our reservation was for 2 rooms as close as possible to each other, and in the end, we got adjoining rooms with lock-offs! They were quite handy as we were traveling with 2 kids so the adults got their own room! The front desk service was solid, answering questions and making the check-in/out process short and sweet. Rated 1 out of 5 by Customer Service Was Terrible This was my second time staying at this hotel. In April 2008 and July 2011. The experiences were totally different. The staff for our most recent stay was rude all around. From the front desk to the bus driver. The hotel did not appear to be full but they gave us a room at the end of the hallway, with a loud refrigerator, that clearly had never been renovated - dingy carpets, older furniture. But the worst experience was the bus driver to the airport. He treated us like second class citizens - rude, disrespectful. So much so that another couple that was from the UK commented about this guy as well as their overall customer service experience, which was also not good. But to prove that he was just not a nice person, the bus driver spent 20 minutes arguing successfully with the front desk that a family of 4 that showed up just as the bus was pulling off should not be allowed to board. He left them there even though they had tickets. He also dropped us off at the wrong stop and told us to catch another shuttle bus at the airport. We did, and then see this idiot departing from the terminal of the correct stop. I'll never stay there again. December 24, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rome 2013 I really recommend Sheraton Roma, as the perfect hotel outside the center. The hotel is outside of the crowded area, but in he same time you can reach the center for less than 30 minutes. You can choose between the hotel's shuttles (3 euro), the Metro (less than 1km) or the taxi (more than 10 cars are waiting in front of the hotel all the time). If you have the choice to get an access to the Club Lounge, I suggest choosing it. You could test the real Italian espresso, try some specific Italian hors d'oeuvre and enjoy the Prosecco time! Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor customer service at Sheraton Roma On October 14th, we checked into the Sheraton Roma for three nights after leaving our cruise ship in Civitavecchia. Having stayed at several Sheratons in Canada and the US and receiving great customer service we were surprised to find the staff at the Sheraton Roma extremely unfriendly and at times downright rude. In one instance, I spoke with someone at the front desk regarding the internet and the misleading charges (says 1 hour internet for 6 euros, but doesn't tell you it must be used all at once or lose your time which in my case was 50 out of the 60 minutes) and he spoke to me in a condescending manner regarding policy stating with a big sigh, "madame, these are the rules. If you want more time you must buy it". When asking questions at the front desk re: shuttles, tours, breakfast we were given curt answers as if we were bothering them by asking these questions. I don't think one single person inquired as to whether we were enjoying our stay in Rome, at the hotel or even smiled at us. In a city were there are literally thousands of tourists I found this attitude very strange. As far as the room goes, there was a large patch of wallpaper missing from the wall, there wasn't a coffee pot, and you were not allowed to put anything personal in the bar fridge (my husband had pills that neede to be kept cool). In the restaurant and bar the service was poor, the food horrible and the cost very high. When requesting a late checkout because our flight wasn't leaving until 6:15, they begrudgingly gave us until one p.m. The only positive comment I have regarding this hotel is the "green program" whereby they credit you 5 euros a day if you forgo having your room cleaned and towels changed every day. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome as there are plenty of other hotels to choose from that offer better customer service. I will, however, continue to stay at the Sheraton's in North America. October 25, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel midway between airport and central rome The room on club level is a bit dated but comfortable. The club lounge food selection was better during morning compare to evening albeit not memorable. The shuttle to the airport is reliable and reasonably priced. Great value with cash and point. Check in at club lounge was quick and bypassed the line in the lobby. Inexpensive taxi fare to central Rome. May 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent choice for a trip to Rome The hotel is clean and spacious. My favorite thing about this location is that there is a bus that takes you to and from downtown Rome and it runs fairly frequently. April 7, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good for airport or meetings, but it's not Rome This hotel is a very convenient place to book-end one's trip to Rome if you're looking for someplace with easy airport access that has a really nice pool to unwind at. This is primarily a meeting- and conference-focussed property, and it isn't exactly convenient to get into Rome proper whilst staying here, but it is convenient to EUR. The rooms are fairly small by American property standards, but nothing terrible. Solid, reliable, and would stay here again when passing through and needing a place that can get me to an early AM flight. December 21, 2011
