I took the hotel bus to go to the old Rome city. It was very convenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dwmmlm Best of both worlds
This modern hotel is situated between the airport and downtown Rome. The shuttle into the city was only e6 and took only about 10-15 minutes. The hotel is near the expressway so walking to dinner is not really practical. The walk to the subway/train station is fine despite what you may have read. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the on-site restaurant was excellent. The hotel does seem to draw large groups (conventions, company outings, etc.) so the lobby areas and bar can be very, very crowded and busy. However, the rooms were updated and quiet and were a nice change from 10 days of European style living we had experienced the previous week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ITALIANFREQUENT A GREAT HOTEL
We returned to the Sheraton Roma Hotel for the fourth time having booked 8 nights of stay.We were very pleased to find again the warm and cosy feeling we had had the last time, and as Rome, the hotel had kept its fame. The only thing that superseded that amazing feeling of luxury and cosiness, was the courteous behaviour of the staff.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lousycsexp Customer Service Was Terrible
This was my second time staying at this hotel. In April 2008 and July 2011. The experiences were totally different. The staff for our most recent stay was rude all around. From the front desk to the bus driver. The hotel did not appear to be full but they gave us a room at the end of the hallway, with a loud refrigerator, that clearly had never been renovated - dingy carpets, older furniture. But the worst experience was the bus driver to the airport. He treated us like second class citizens - rude, disrespectful. So much so that another couple that was from the UK commented about this guy as well as their overall customer service experience, which was also not good. But to prove that he was just not a nice person, the bus driver spent 20 minutes arguing successfully with the front desk that a family of 4 that showed up just as the bus was pulling off should not be allowed to board. He left them there even though they had tickets. He also dropped us off at the wrong stop and told us to catch another shuttle bus at the airport. We did, and then see this idiot departing from the terminal of the correct stop. I'll never stay there again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tobias Poor customer service at Sheraton Roma
On October 14th, we checked into the Sheraton Roma for three nights after leaving our cruise ship in Civitavecchia. Having stayed at several Sheratons in Canada and the US and receiving great customer service we were surprised to find the staff at the Sheraton Roma extremely unfriendly and at times downright rude. In one instance, I spoke with someone at the front desk regarding the internet and the misleading charges (says 1 hour internet for 6 euros, but doesn't tell you it must be used all at once or lose your time which in my case was 50 out of the 60 minutes) and he spoke to me in a condescending manner regarding policy stating with a big sigh, "madame, these are the rules. If you want more time you must buy it". When asking questions at the front desk re: shuttles, tours, breakfast we were given curt answers as if we were bothering them by asking these questions. I don't think one single person inquired as to whether we were enjoying our stay in Rome, at the hotel or even smiled at us. In a city were there are literally thousands of tourists I found this attitude very strange. As far as the room goes, there was a large patch of wallpaper missing from the wall, there wasn't a coffee pot, and you were not allowed to put anything personal in the bar fridge (my husband had pills that neede to be kept cool). In the restaurant and bar the service was poor, the food horrible and the cost very high. When requesting a late checkout because our flight wasn't leaving until 6:15, they begrudgingly gave us until one p.m. The only positive comment I have regarding this hotel is the "green program" whereby they credit you 5 euros a day if you forgo having your room cleaned and towels changed every day. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome as there are plenty of other hotels to choose from that offer better customer service. I will, however, continue to stay at the Sheraton's in North America.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bob2244 Pit Stop in Rome
Hotel is outside the chaos of downtown Rome. We had a private tour so they picked us up at the hotel. Travel to the airport was quick. Club staff sent us to a nice restaurant close to the hotel. The breakfast in the club level was very good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dorota Overall good expeerience, pros and cons
I stayed in this hotel numerous times travelling for business purposes. I found the following avantages:
- excellent gym, opened 24/7, enough equipment not to get too crowded, water and fresh towels provided.
- rooms comfortable, good beds
- outdoor swimming pool excellent for summers, unfortunately opened only till 7pm so makes it difficult for business people to make it in time
- selection of fresh fruits for breakfast and good coffee
- shuttle bus to the city and airport, very convenient
- renovated vast conferencing space
There were also features I did not find enjoyable:
- Staff is not very anticipating, at the reception desk, instead of helping me arrange for things I asked, I was sent away to call eg housekeeping myself.
- I had difficulties with redeeming "Make a green choice" vouchers for SPG points, as housekeeping did not write dates on them and did not keep track.
- most Sheraton hotels offer free Internet in the lobby, this one doesn't
All in all, the hotel is ok, I would reccommend it and I will definitely stay there again when in Rome, just be braced up for the cons :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jordan5 Excellent choice for a trip to Rome
The hotel is clean and spacious. My favorite thing about this location is that there is a bus that takes you to and from downtown Rome and it runs fairly frequently.
