Rated 2 out of 5 by JetsetNYC Could not enter my room twice
I got to my room to take a much needed nap mid conference. My key did not work on the door. I contacted the front desk and let them know that I thought something was wrong with the lock because it would not even show me a red light indicating there's something wrong with my key. About 15 minutes later a guy shows up with new keys (even though I knew it was a problem with the lock), and of course they new keys don't work because the lock isn't even registering a response. 20 minutes later an "engineer" shows up and confirms the lock is busted. Another 15 minutes later a lady shows up and lets me into the room while they replace the whole lock. As i leave i test my keys and notice the new lock rejects them, but that's ok, I can stop by the front desk and get new keys when i get back.
I get back around 10:30 pm, go to the front desk, explain the previous situation and get new keys. Go to my room, and of course the new keys don't work. Something just told me that was going to happen. Took another 25 minutes for someone to come over and "reprogram" the lock and let me in.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Grazie I found roach in our room closet.
I was staying at Sheraton Vistana Resort for the 3rd time. I was dissatisfied on my third visit. THE KEYS PLACE was not as good as the other building. I requested for 2 bedrooms but instead, I got 2 rooms with connector. I don't need 2 kitchens. It was ugly. Carpet looks old and dirty. I found roach in our closet. I called the front desk but she did not give me a good satisfying answer. I wasn't happy at all.

My husband & I stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Villages, July 30-August 4, 2013. We were actually staying in Kissimmee, Florida at a timeshare that we booked for July 28-August 4. It was awful. I just wanted to get out and get into Sheraton as I know their high quality. Thankfully, Sheraton Vistana Villages had a 1 bedroom villa available on short notice. We actually gave up the majority of our "free" timeshare week in order to have the quality we are used to. The Sheraton Vistana Villages exceeded even my highest hopes, not just once, but throughout our entire stay. From the first person at the front desk who welcomed me, (Aauro) and spoke to me like he was glad I was there, to Kenny, Andrew, Nancy and Marilyn, they all made us feel special. In just our brief conversation when I checked in, Aauro remembered that my husband & I were celebrating our wedding anniversary. He had a gift basket delivered to our villa with a card hand signed by him and several other employees! That made us feel so special!!
Our villa was huge with a large bedroom, enormous master bathroom, full kitchen, washer/dryer, screened in balcony and an additional half bath! We've traveled a lot and have never had a one bedroom villa with a bath and a half.
The villa grounds are beautifully landscaped and the pools are gorgeous.
The employees at this resort seem to love their jobs and to enjoy making each guest feel welcome and ensuring that their visit is wonderful and problem free.
Since we are familiar with the quality that Sheraton offers, and since Sheraton Vistana Villages went well beyond our highest expectations, we have decided to only stay at Sheraton properties as we travel.

When checked into our room we unpacked then started to put things into refridgerator and noticed water all over kitchen floor. I then called the front desk to notify them, and was told to come back to the loby and the would give us another room, I stated that we had arranged for three rooms togeather and was told that would not be a problem. So we packed up our items and returned to the loby we once again had to wait in a long line of at least 10 other people to check in and only two staff members to accomidate all of us,and a wait of 30 minuits we told our story again and the staff member said that te only way to stay togeather was to keep the rooms we had origianly and they would send someone to repair the fridg. So we had to go back and unpack again and wait form them to rectify the situation. So after arriving at 2:15 PM we were settled in at 6:30 PM . whitch we feel waisted that day. All we wanted was the fridg repaired when we were there the first time

We reserved this room based on the online pictures which did not show the room. The pool and lobby area are wonderful , but the room not as much. It smelled like food, and was outdated. We felt like we were in someone's house. It was a shame because the property has a lot of potential. I recommend the hotel without the room we stayed in.

Rated 2 out of 5 by 9624Y Facilities issues and poor cleanliness
I have to say I would rate this as a below average SPG property. In addition to the hot water not working in my room and the wake up call being late the room was dirty and smelled as if there was a pet in it before. I was also surprised to discover that the ceiling fan inoperative. I will not be staying at this property again.

This resort has everything but the beach! Room upgrade was great, facilities can't be beat & the staff was wonderful. A little place of paradise nestled in Orlando. My only complaint was it rained everyday & I don't believe the hotel can do much about that.

Great hotel resort, but a/c needs to be changed. We have been owners at Starwood Vistanna Villages for 10 years. I recently stayed in August. Big mistake on our part. The weather which we knew would be hot and humid. I did not expect the a/c units to be regulated to the point of uncomfort. The first three nights we called for service as the a/c did not drop below 73 in our room (fine except high humidity). The service reps stated they could not lower. On the fourth day we asked for a room change which was granted. We also asked for a night back due to the fact we had to move across property and lost a day of activity, which was granted. The new room did not drop below 70, again no problem except for humidity in the room. This made for uncomfort and night sweating while we slept. I love the units but I am dissappointed by the lack of a/c. The sales area is fully air conditioned, so is the check in. This stay was not enjoyed because we had to leave our unit and go off property to get cool. Sorry SPG you dropped the ball.

Purchased at Vistana Resorts over 10 years ago & loved it & visit every year until now. Stayed at Vistana Villages & upgraded in 11/12. Big mistake. Its beautiful & staff not connected with sales is terrific. Sales staff lies, did not honor any perk offered & tried to reach him in 1/13 the emaill & all phone numbers gave us were non working contact information. Even tried to contact others who fail to help or return our call. Stay there but do not buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Thing1 Odd Service Practices
We stayed for three days and four nights. Arrived on a Wednesday and left on a Sunday morning. Room service showed up on Friday night at 4pm and then again on Saturday night at 6pm. We booked this hotel because of the cozy accommodations, kitchen, living room, etc. We were surprised to have our family time together interrupted for room service at such odd hours. When we asked them not to clean they made us sign a paper for them so they wouldn't get in trouble?
The bar tender at the Pirate Cove, well lets just say she was nasty and blew it with service. You lost a lot of sales from my party, both alcoholic, beverages and food, because she was nasty, rude and often served people waiting out of order. I think her name was Donna. If I were management I'd fire her immediately... If i wanted to be treated rudely on my vacation I wouldn't pay thousands to fly to Florida for the abuse... Such a shame.
If you are looking to make the most our of your pool time, get there early. Every single pool is packed every day and there aren't enough lounge chairs for anyone. Once again, you pay thousands and you can't even enjoy an easy stroll to the pool to relax unless you want to sit on the concrete.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Gravitar As a resort it's a great property but....
I own 3 timeshare properties with Starwood. When I am in Orlando on business I like to stay at SVV if at all possible. The extra room in the villas makes it easier to spread out and work than if I was in a regular hotel room.
I know that this is not a "hotel" and as such, that participation in all of the SPG elite benefits is restricted. I have stayed at this property multiple times and was surprised last fall when I was asked if I wanted the Platinum Amenity as points. I said yes... The problem is they never posted. I ended up having to get Starwood Customer Service to get it taken care of. This happened on several following stays. Kind of annoying.
It appears they have fixed the problem. Now instead of not posting the points, they post "Platinum Amenity Received in Hotel" I never take anything other than points.... so off again I go to try and collect them. Was told that there was an error at the property and they would get them posted by the end of the day. I was also told that I would get a call in order to try and retain my business.
The points never posted and the call never came.
A week followed and I was then told that they had to research this issue and it would take another two weeks. I thanked the Platinum Chat rep for her time,"
It's a great place for a vacation. They should stop playing to the SPG elite if they cannot deliver.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ACTFLconvention2013 good location, not much else for business traveler
business traveler; central location; accommodating and friendly front desk staff; while room had necessary amenities and was clean when I arrived, housekeeping skipped a day and had to be reminded; all night there is a periodic "boom" sound--I guess the power flush toilets--that interferes with sleeping (even with earplugs), the one bar open in the evening had no ambiance; many children at the pool at all times; suitable only for family travel and heavy sleepers

Rated 5 out of 5 by Atlhoosier Great space for families
We stayed at this hotel on our trip to Disney and were in the Key West section (at the back). I was told this was the most recently renovated. We found it to be quite nice--we had a 1 bedroom unit; our daughter slept on the pull-out couch. It was very nice; had plenty of room. Only thing I would add would be some hangers in the bedroom & a blanket for the pullout. Pool is right around the corner and very nice! Also had w/d in the unit which was great for us--also didn't have to pay, so another plus! We will definitely stay here again, depending on our length of stay. Time to get to/from Disney each day was about 15-20 min tops. Lots of restaurants close by & Publix if you want to eat in the unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GaGadgetGirl I love Starwood
In the world of corporations, it is usually an emphasis on profit and very little gain to the consumer. I have been a member of Starwood since 2000 and rarely have I been disappointed in any of their properties. The staff is always courteous and treat you with respect even if you are using points. This property was no exception. The surroundings were beautiful and well maintained, the room was large (1 bedroom premium) and fit my family in comfortably. I loved the Pirate Ship pool - well designed for little ones, the slide is designed so that they don't go into above head into the water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pamela29 Good family friendly resort
I read a few reviews for this hotel and decided to book for our first family vacation to Orlando. The property is absolutely beautiful, we were very impressed on that part. Great location too!We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa, although we booked a one bedroom but somehow the hotel got a reservation requesting 2 bedrooms. The villa was very sapcious, almost too much for my little family of 3. The second bedroom had a faint vomit smell upon check in, I didnt notice but my younger daughter pointed it out to me on the day 2 of our stay. The smell came from the carpet inbetween the double beds in front of the night stand. I called guest services and the gentleman said if we would be out of the room for a couple hours, he could "get the smell taken care of". I assumed this meant shampooing the carpet. The following day we returned late evening to find a strong, pleasent smelling room spray masking the now stronger vomit smell. The next day I called guest services again and explained everything, a woman showed up with some cleaning supplies, smelled the carpet and said "thats not vmit you smell, its a spray that the engineers use". she was going to leave but I insisted no, its vomit. So she started spraying a "room freshner" on the carpet and vaccumed. While she was doing that a man showed up and said he didnt smell anything either. The vomit smell was just one complaint we had about the housekeeping. We noticed tubs were not being cleaned daily nor counter tops in the bathrooms and kitchen. Baseboards looked like they needed to be scrubbed and corners on the tile floors had dust, dirt and I even found a dried up eye contact. I cleaned the floors myself for the fact i didnt want my kids getting out of the tub clean only to step on a dirty floor. Other than the housekeeping I had no problems with the resort and would recommed this property to others, without mentioning the "housekeeping".

Rated 5 out of 5 by JVT2013 Wonderful Experience
We stayed in the St. Augustine building. The room was spacious and clean. We did not feel crowded in the one bedroom villa. The bed was comfortable. My three year old enjoyed the pirate ship in the pool, playground, and feeding the ducks. There was no need to leave the hotel for entertainment. The kitchen and bathrooms were beautiful. We all took advantage of the whirlpool bathtub. The screened in patio was an added bonus. This hotel is family friendly & exceeded our expectations. We have no complaints. We will definitely book this hotel again for our next mini vacation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Apol29 spacious hotel but no hotel comfort
i like the room since we got upgraded but the staff was not that helpful or friendly. the jetted tub was great but only if we did not see a hair left over. Staffs were short to answer my questions or requests as if they wanna get rid of me and there no SPG gold/platinum line at check-in so I waited for awhile. Internet was down and our room was far away from the main lobby. the staff gave us the number of the provider instead of doing it for us at mid night . Overall it is a great place to stay but you might have better luck at reception.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ChristmasTime 1st Timers. Will go back!
Found this hotel via Sheraton's website. We were looking for nice room over christmas holiday. We shared room with relatives. 4 adults, 4 small kids. 2 bedroom suite was perfect. Washer and dryer a bonus! Entirely Screened in patio/porch was awesome! Kids could go out there on their own without worrying about anything. Pool was awesome (only used the one with the pirate ship). Marketplace store had everything we needed. Rooms were clean. We ordered room service for all 8 of us for dinner (pizza, wings, quesadillas, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks and fries). It was all very good, fast and reasonable. Only had one phone call to see if we were interested in listening to timeshare presentation. If we weren't in room, we probably would have missed the call. Not high pressure at all. In fact, we actually discussed ownership with 2 couples at the pool because we were enjoying our stay so much. We were there from 23-26Dec. They had lots of activities for the kids. The staff was very willing to give us a room by the pirate pool as we had asked. We spent a day at magic kingdom and will definately stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in the area. It was close to everything (Disney, Sea World, other parks, shopping, food, etc). We have stayed at many hotels both domestically and internationally. Rooms were very quiet. This hotel exceeded our expectations. Thanks for contributing to a great family vacation! Sitting at the pool on Christmas day couldn't have been better!

I am a timeshare owner at the Vistana Villages and my family and I have been owners since 2010. I must say that this is one of the best decisions that I have made in my adult life. The resort has many fun things to do and the villas are cozy and offer all the amenities of being home. The resort is in a great location that is close to many of the popular attractions in Orlando. The resort is very safe and the parking lots are always well lit. The staff is very friendly and helpful and when you have a problem they take care of it swiftly. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone and everyone. I love my timeshare and I'm always excited to go back every year.
