I checked in and they thanked me for being a platinum member. I was given a room, apparently it was not the SPG Preferred room nor was I given an upgrade or enhanced room. I got my room, there was no complimentary bottled water and the mini bar was locked. I rang guest services, they asked someone to bring me the bottled water and another person to unlock the mini bar. There was shampoo but no shower gel. I have stayed in hotel a few times and they do have shower gel but not sure why soap is preferred now. There are no other bathroom amenities except a shower cap. The room was serviced but again no bottled water. Previous stays, the room has a coffee/tea machine but this time, nothing.

The hotel is pretty good and I got upgraded to club level which is very nice. However staff starts at 6 am in the club level lobby and love to chat loud when seeing each other in the morning. A little bit more consideration for the customers would be nice especially on a Saturday morning. The carpets were being vacuumed by 8:30 am !!
Planes start flying into Bogota at 6 AM and the hotel is below the flight path.
I stayed 4 nights and most of the staff is very friendly. English language is very limited !!! The guy in the bar cannot keep up with the customer demands so it would be nice to see some help there. No alcoholic drinks at club level !!!

This Sheraton Hotel is a really nice Hotel that is just big enough to have all the amenities one needs.
Check in was a little strange at night because the credit card machine was updating and showed that my card was being denied for the authorization , when in reality it was the bank the hotel uses was updating the system.
After that first check in bleep all went excellent. The best thing i like is the very excellent service in the club lounge given by Jhairo , Jorge and that great always helpful chef Ricardo, who by the way makes great personalized Omelette's.
If you are a vegetarian , you will still enjoy the breakfast in the club lounge or the second floor because of the plentiful fruits, cheeses and breads.
I had one of the best massages in my life by Diana. She is totally professional and knows her craft. The also offer couples therapy with advance booking.
The area around the hotel has good restaurants and is very safe to walk around day or night. The transportation by taxi is a fast and inexpensive way to get around, and the big electric bus in the middle of the road is a way to get the local feel while traveling..
This is not the Colombia you see and hear about in the movies from the 80'sand 90's. This is a very modern city with 9 million people and great places to see ,eat, explore and have fun in..
This Sheraton will be one of the first stops on every trip to Bogota.
I also want to give credit to two of the most helpful people at any Starwood hotel, Laura and Sara who work the front reception Gold and Platinum area and Laura up stairs in the club Lounge.
This Hotel makes me happy to earn my last few night to make Life Time Platinum.

Just finished staying at this hotel for a week on business. I wouldn't call the hotel awful but it does need a few things upgraded to get up to the Sheraton standard. Things that I was irated about was the hotel has no ATM. I got in late one night and couldn't even get peso's to tip my bell hop. The front desk will not convert money because theymdon't carry that much cash on hand. When I called the hotel to tell them I would be VERY late due to,plane delay the operator REFUSED to,transfer me to,the front desk then she could not understand English. I had to three way a call from my daughter-in-law who is from Colombia to make sUre they didn't give my room away. The Hotel enterance.........my driveway to my home is bigger and more impressive (which isn't saying much) Personally beds were way too hard, the shower design for my room #726'was a joke. The shower door only opens halfway and on one side. The shower head is on that same side of the door opening yet the hot/cold knobs are on the other side of the shower. So you have to get in to turn it on and if your not REAL fast you'll get hit with the shower water (see picture below). I understand that not every room was designed this way as we had 7 people here with rooms however THIS one was reserved for PLATINUM members like myself....I pity what the people get that aren't so SPECIAL. OH another thing about my favorite shower. I,leaks and when you get out there is a puddle of water on the floor which is why I presume they put a drian in the floor.....REALLY?? I did have problems with the Internet but they came up and fixed that immediately with a portable hotspot. Breakfast was very impressive in the restaurant or the "club floor".
Bottom line I would rate this hotel slightly below STARWOOD standards and above average for normal hotels because it is very clean

Had a few major issues that prevented a good nights sleep; A/C not working, automatic blinds not closing, in addition to Internet not working. The room was also down graded from reservation, as opposed to upgraded as I am Platinum with Starwood. Hence, while possibly minor, quite annoying; no coffee machine, hair drier not working, no robe and slippers, no English newspaper, lack of bottled water.
Tried to speak with a manager the first mroning, but they were all "in a meeting", so left a detailed note. On my return back after a busy day around 5 Pm, nothing had been rectified, no voice mail or note acknowledging my issues, so called front desk, and was told, all managers are "still in a meeting". Only after I insisted speaking with a manger, did i get call back, the attitude was lackluster and i felt treated as if my business was not important. My problems were only partilaly resolved.
The breakfast and evening cocktail snack offering in the club lounge was not very good either. They even charge for a soda during, and you are lucky to get a fresh cup of coffee during the day.

The hotel staff especially in the hotel bar and Chimney Restaurant were excellent. Stay was booked through the SPG website and all requirements were met for a SPG stay. Hotel is denying the SPG stay with no reason given.

Lounge room has no staff at night time (9:00 pm).
Dry Clean Service NOT professional or knowledgeable.
Front Desk Staff and Quality Control Staff not serious when it come to guests complains and situations and/or taking it serious and solving these.
They just let it go under the rug, the guest is gone the problem too... They do nothing!
