The hotel was nice enough for a layover in BOG. Didnt get any platinum upgrade however. Booked a standard room, got a standard room. 2nd stay, booked a jr. Suite, got a jr. Suite on the lowest floor imaginable.
Would i stay here again? Sure if the price is right..But keep in mind that this hotel is quite far from where the happening is in Bogota.

Check-in was very pleasant and my requests were met by Nancy, who always greeted my wife and I by name for the rest of our stay.
Carlos gave us a very informative verbal tour of the hotel while taking our luggage to our room. Also immediately informed a senior staff member when my wife mentioned part of the gym was unclean. Gerardo in the club was very pleasant and helpful.
A most enjoyable stay.

A moth in my leg during the night (4am and no open windows) that keep me awake the rest of the night and fungus in my coffee cup when ask for room service, make the worst experience in a Sheraton Hotel.

This Sheraton Bogota hotel does not disappoint. For starters, this hotel is 10 minutes away from the airport and they offer free airport pick up and drop off. I notified them of my arrival information and when I got in, I went outside and there they were holding a Sheraton sign. When it was time for me to leave, I went to the lobby and voila the was a shuttle waiting to whisk me away. Note: the shuttle runs every 20 minutes.
The staff were all very friendly and the room I stayed in was clean and modern. I slept like a baby! The in room Internet was fast and reliable. The complimentary breakfast was a great perk. I got to try Colombian dishes for breakfast like arepas and lulo and feijoa juice on top of the usual egg and toast breakfast.
The only downside was that the location was a bit boring. This hotel is located on the same block as other international hotel chains and private condos and apartments but there is just nothing to do. However, there's much worse things in life and the hotel can call you a reliable taxi to whisk you away to La Candeleria or the north of Bogota for some exploring.
Helpful tip: if you are a foreigner staying in Colombia for a short period of time, you don't need to pay the 16% IVA tax. Just make sure to notify the front desk when you check in. They will scan a copy of your passport and the page where your Colombian visa/stamp is. Then you just have to sign an additional form exempting you from the IVA.
The only thing that I noticed that could be improved upon is the SPG recognition. Also, I am not 100% sure if I got an upgrade on my room at check-in. I was able to utilize the late check-out without any problem so that's always good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by RL67 No SPG Recognition & poor service
I checked in around 10pm, one would think that they have time to get the room ready but no. The room has no bottled water and the minibar was locked, so had to ring to get water as well as the minibar unlocked. I have stayed at this hotel before but there is no consistency in the room amenities you get. First few times I stayed, it has everything but this time, no coffee percolator, no shower gel, no bathrobe, no slippers. The last morning, no hot water. I requested for change of linens, I was sitting in the room watching housekeeping cleaning my room but she just didn't change the linens. Totally unacceptable. They don't even welcome you as a platinum guest, no big deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PrinceDarren Fine hotel, great staff
The staff in every department was wonderful. I especially want to recognize the young woman in the "Chimenea" restaurant who brought a ginger tea for my son when she heard him coughing during breakfast. Unfortunately, I did not catch her name. Her service and attention was truly above and beyond expectations. My only recommendation for improved service is to make the club level accessible to gold SPG members. When I was there, it was only open to platinum members. I will likely stay here again on my next trip.

Rated 2 out of 5 by RL67 Not 5Star & no recognition
I checked in and they thanked me for being a platinum member. I was given a room, apparently it was not the SPG Preferred room nor was I given an upgrade or enhanced room. I got my room, there was no complimentary bottled water and the mini bar was locked. I rang guest services, they asked someone to bring me the bottled water and another person to unlock the mini bar. There was shampoo but no shower gel. I have stayed in hotel a few times and they do have shower gel but not sure why soap is preferred now. There are no other bathroom amenities except a shower cap. The room was serviced but again no bottled water. Previous stays, the room has a coffee/tea machine but this time, nothing.

This Sheraton Hotel is a really nice Hotel that is just big enough to have all the amenities one needs.
Check in was a little strange at night because the credit card machine was updating and showed that my card was being denied for the authorization , when in reality it was the bank the hotel uses was updating the system.
After that first check in bleep all went excellent. The best thing i like is the very excellent service in the club lounge given by Jhairo , Jorge and that great always helpful chef Ricardo, who by the way makes great personalized Omelette's.
If you are a vegetarian , you will still enjoy the breakfast in the club lounge or the second floor because of the plentiful fruits, cheeses and breads.
I had one of the best massages in my life by Diana. She is totally professional and knows her craft. The also offer couples therapy with advance booking.
The area around the hotel has good restaurants and is very safe to walk around day or night. The transportation by taxi is a fast and inexpensive way to get around, and the big electric bus in the middle of the road is a way to get the local feel while traveling..
This is not the Colombia you see and hear about in the movies from the 80'sand 90's. This is a very modern city with 9 million people and great places to see ,eat, explore and have fun in..
This Sheraton will be one of the first stops on every trip to Bogota.
I also want to give credit to two of the most helpful people at any Starwood hotel, Laura and Sara who work the front reception Gold and Platinum area and Laura up stairs in the club Lounge.
This Hotel makes me happy to earn my last few night to make Life Time Platinum.
