Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome location for beach volleyball tournament Our family had a blast. We travel from the west coast several times a summer to play in the beach volleyball tournaments hosted at the beach. My daughter plays juniors on Sunday and I play on Saturday. Having the hotel so close is amazing. We also are gold members with Sheraton and we got the complimentary late check out that kicked butt on Sunday because my daughter made it to the finals and our day was later than we expected. Thank you for a wonderful weekend. August 1, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Location & Service Had a beautiful view overlooking the marina & beach. Food in Mexican restaurant was delicious. We were meeting a friend of my husband from high school. Waitress at the pool restaurant was wonderful. She kept our drinks refreshed and courteously let us visit for hours. The burgers and fries in the Whale Watch hit the spot. Staff at this hotel are very good! Someone left Mont Blanc pens in the safe of room. I meant to leave with desk. Now must ship back to hotel. July 12, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel is dated Hotel is very dated, right down to the pool area. Feels like it looks - like you are on a very crowded cruise ship. March 12, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by my stay Hotel is old Building I stayed at is not convenient to lobby or restaurant .air conditioning has no heat option cold winter in Florida Restaurant is Mexican no options. Since when did we make Mexican food a staple in America? March 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor hotel Very Loud lobby. Average restaurant. Poor wifi in room. Hallways and lobby not clean and dated. Very small elevators. March 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great beach hotel Spent 4 days with the family and had an excellent time. The beach location is the best on the strip. You can access the beach direct from the pool area without crossing the road as several other hotels down the beach requie. Staff is super friendly and responsive. Management is very responsive also. I brought a small issue to their attention and it was immediately rectified. The pools were great and well heated. We would definitely stay again. November 11, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Too many extra charges I do not feel like you should have to pay to park at the hotel that you are staying at or for the beach chairs or umbrella. If the pool is open, towels should be available. If you advertise free WiFi it should be noted in the lobby only, if that is the case! This hotel needs to update the check out options in the booklet in the room, because we were not able to use any of the options stated. We had to go down to the lobby and wait in line to check out. Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing! We went to Ft. Lauderdale for a short spring break. The hotel was amazing! We had a beautiful suite overlooking the beach. The choice of restaurants was great. We can't wait to go back next year. Overall, it was an awesome little vacation. I would recommend the Sheraton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Hotel to anyone. The infinity pool with windows to the Wreck bar was fascinating. This is one of those resorts where you never have to leave - they have everything. March 23, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Out dated and overrated This hotel is listed as a 4 star, but it is a 3 star at best. I'm sure it was really nice at one point, but it is in need of updating. The furniture in the room was old and worn and the sheets had holes in them. The most irritating part of my stay was the $20 per day for self parking. That should be added into the room rate or advertised on the website. It's also ridiculous to charge $9.95 per day for internet that's so slow it was almost unusable. September 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value and location I stayed at the hotel last week and the service was great. It is an ideal location. I was upgraded to an oceanview room which was very nice and appreciated, although as it faced A1A it was a little noisy, so that took some time to adjust to. The only issue is the marina building, is a little distant from the main and pool buildings so to use the gym it is a bit further and you must use the walkway but it was a lovely vacation. Thank you. Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice but needs some upgrades!!! The staff was outstanding! My husband and I could not have been treated any better. On the other hand, the air conditioning unit was so loud that I had to sleep with a pillow over my head the first night. We decided to take a chance with the heat in order to get a good nights sleep. We turned the air conditioner off at night for the remaining three nights. We even had to turn the volume up on the television to compete with the noise of the AC. May 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Clean, comfortable, expensive parking staff were helpful/friendly. rooms were clean, if a bit musty due to lack of ventilation. Bit of a walk to the pool/beach if you aren't staying in the beach tower. Had random skunk smells coming through the vents one afternoon. Staff at the pool/beach were great, if a bit short staffed over the long weekend on waiters for food/drinks. Parking is pretty expensive at $20 self park or $25 valet. Lots of families in the pool, but still enjoyable September 6, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Tired property We did arrive at the hotel around 11:30AM and our room was ready at 2:45. The property's location was wonderful. The hotel on the beach side is old and really had a moldy smell especially the bar. On the plus side the view was wonderful and the Mexican restaurant on the property was wonderful. February 13, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by This Sheraton needs much improvement This was my first visit to this Sheraton and I won't be back. The hotel is worn down and in need of a major renovation. I did get a nice SPG Platinum upgrade and a nice VIP cheese plate sent to the room. However, the toast points were so burnt and black...I was shocked they would deliver such a thing. I checked in around 5PM and my room wasn't ready yet, so they told me they would 'text' me when it was ready. Shocked they couldn't at least call me instead of text. Waited 30 minutes for the room. There is no Club Room and no club like benefits are offered. Enjoy the 1 free bottle of water only. Not even a free cup of coffee around. After waiting on the elevator for 5 minutes, I figured out they were out. No notification was given to the guest until I asked the front desk. It took a few hours before they were working again. I felt sorry for those folks on the high floors. Can't beat the location on the beach and the staff seemed to go out of their way to be helpful. Seems to be fine for the economy tourist type traveler, but not those expecting the usual higher standard of the Starwood experience. February 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good everything was good at the hotel. In booking this hotel I was useing ponts and cash. I was very clear that I want the same room and did not wanrt to change rooms but when I checked in I was told I weould have to change rooms. Was not happy about the mix up when booking. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great view of the Ocean This was not my first choice in Ft Lauderdale but I was very pleased with my two nights there. Room service food was very good and fast. The room was spacious, I got my Platinum upgrade and the view of the beach and ocean were terrific. There was also an ample work out area. I would say the decor could use some refreshing but that was a minor detail. January 27, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Bed in room 238 was horrible. I had a room with a very nice appearance however, the bed was not comfortable. I was told that the bed was new and that nobody had ever complained about it. No one bother to check to see if the bed mattress was perhaps on the wrong side since the bed was suppose to be cushioned they simply offered me a comforter to put on top of the bed to make it softer. It felt like i was sleeping on the box spring. I was not offered another room. September 17, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Hidden Charges at this one everywhere! This is a very odd hotel with a spraw of 3 towers. Regardless of where you are staying, you are going to be walking. There is no platinum lounge at this property. Breakfast at the restrurant was terrible. Parking it $20 a night and the garrage is a hike from most rooms. There is a beach area and you get chairs, but some shade will cost you $15. Kids meals don't include any type of drink. This is simply not a family frendly hotel.. June 19, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great week! My wife and I stayed for five nights. Hotel is old, but very well maintained and clean. The staff was excellent from the moment we walked in until they hailed a cab for us when we left. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room was very quiet. A/C worked perfectly and very quiet. Beach was great. Beach staff very attentive. We travel a lot and have had good and bad experiences. This was a good experienece. We will be back. March 16, 2012

Rated 1 out of 5 by Woken up by garbage trucks at 6:30 a.m.! Horrible experience. Marina Tower. I was woken up by garbage trucks at 6:30 am outside by 3rd floor window. Every time I almost fell asleep again another loud boom from either a beer truck or something else!! I was there on business..had checked in after midnight and needed the rest to work the late shift the next day. Staff offered to change my room but it was pointless by that time. Why do they put people there!? October 19, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not Impressed I came to the hotel for my honeymoon. The staff surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne when we arrived which was very nice. The room and hotel were run down. Our room smelled like smoke and the bathroom and linen was dirty. Location was great but not worth staying in a old/dirty hotel. February 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheraton Ft. Lauderdale This is an excellent place for a getaway, or a quick stay pre-cruise. It is right on the beach, and the attached restaurant is outstanding. We will be there again next year. February 24, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not what I expected I am a huge fan off SPG and I am a gold member. I found the hotel room and bathroom old. The room and hallway area felt like it needed an upgrade. The bathroom was also very old and not like most of the other SPG hotels. In addition, I usually benefit from thelate 4 pm check out but the guest said due to the availability I could not have it.... Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location This hotel is in a great laction on the beach and near many great restaurants as well as Port Everglades and the airport. February 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great experience following Orlando We used our SPG reward to stay in beach tower on 4th of July. Awesome experience, and met our beach expectations. Tower is right on beach, have use of 2 pools too, great location for fireworks, and sounds silly, worth getting out early for chairs on the beach (awesome cushions on custom terry covers) and reasonable umbrella rental cost. Recommend eating outside hotel, but is close to everything. Parking cost reasonable. July 9, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Warning When you check in, be explicit about your needs. We booked a $425 per night suite. Great room except that it sits right over the room that they rent out for weddings. It's 9pm and the walls are still pounding. The receptionist reaction? "What noise? Oh, that's a wedding. It might stop at 10pm." Nice customer service. Otherwise, good location and nice gym but I can't recommend for the price you pay. November 30, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wonderful staff! I can't compliment the staff at this Sheraton enough! Front desk staff were very accommodating and friendly. The waitress's and bartenders were terrific! In particular Nicole at the beach bar and Amanda in the Mexican restaurant. The valet guys were very quick. Like I said, I can't say enough great things about everyone at this hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you Sheraton for a great vacation. October 8, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Room was a dissapoitment I thought I booked a deluxe room, however I just was in a standard room with Balcony. Last September, I stayed in the marina tower for far less money and the roof was nicer. I try to explain my feeling to front desk staff, but they were telling me I had deluxe room?? The room was far from deluxe. The location of the hotel was perfect. I might think about staying somewhere else next time due to condition of room. June 3, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Needs some work Great Location, hotel staff very nice and accomodating with my request. Hotel is a bit old. Still not sure why water had a yellow look. Toilet would make running noise every 5 min or so....had to sleep with ear plugs and BR door closed so as not to stay awake all night. They tried to fix but couldn't. Food from restaurant was ok. A bit pricy for what you get. Would recommend but with right expectations June 17, 2013
