Rated 2 out of 5 by Totally uninformed front dest staff I called the hotel (twice) before my stay, to inquire about transportation from Union Station to the hotel. Both times, I was given wrong information, which resulted in my arriving later than expected. For my return, I was told that I should use the Supershuttle, which would cost "about $35." Not only would the desk not assist in making the reservation, but the actual cost would have been $85 -$90, and I was left scrambling again. August 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is a great place to stay. Sheraton Tyson's Corner is a wonderful place to hold a conference. The staff is pleasant and professional and the facilities are second to none. On top of that, travel into Washington D.C. is easy and short. July 1, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by DMI dance Ok, I think you have a major flaw in your reservations. I stayed Friday night and I asked several times if any rooms were available for saturday and the answer was sold out! So I kept checking thinking maybe someone canceled. No, sold-out they said. So I went up to my friends room and she went online to find that they did have rooms available. How can you not know what's available in your hotel ??? April 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by One so-so experience but otherwise great hotel I have stayed here a few times and every time prior was wonderful. This time was just so-so due to the the dirty trash in the trash can and the bed and pillow set not being up the usual standard of this hotel, especially from what I have experienced in the past . I hope that this was just a one time situation, and I do plan to stay again in the future. Staff is always freindly and inviting and welcome you with a warm smile. December 13, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice but expensive The hotel is very nice, but it is expensive and everything is "additional". $300/nt gets you a room, without a refrig. WiFi is extra; breakfast is extra; parking is extra; restaurant is expensive... you get the idea. Where I'm from $75-$100 gets you everything. June 22, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Mechanicals need work Although a beautiful this facility did not meet those standards that Sheraton is known for. During our three day stay, the housekeeping staff and their work was outstanding. But our visit was marred by a non-functioning exhaust fan in the toilet area and lights too dim by half in the over the lavatory sink. The light situation was so bad, I found myself shaving next to the main window using my wife's make-up mirror. Both of these items were brought to the attention of the front desk after our first night, however I was not contacted and the problems were not resolved. I also noticed elevator button lights that were out as well as a handrail in an elevator that was dangerously loose. All-all, this once iconic facility seems to have slipped extensively. I usually choose Sheraton whenever I can during my travels, but this Sheraton is off my list. I know you can do better. January 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing experience I found upon entering the lobby that now with the down scaled tempo of modern hotels this was reminiscent of a dying era of grandiose. The front desk staff were polite and very informative. Also I was upgraded to a room in the Tower for the price of a room on Levels 1-3. The room was clean and well appointed. They only gave two wash clothes but when I requested more the request was met immediately. Highly recommend!!! October 17, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Hotel I was happy with the Hotel. It was clean. The staff was helpful. I was surprised there wasn't a microwave in the room. My television remote did not work. My one complaint would be that a lot of the staff could not speak English. A maid came into my room while I was dressing and couldn't understand that I didn't want her there. I was trying to get ready and had to walk over her vacuum cord. It was very uncomfortable. October 22, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Staff The thing that impressed me most with my stay was how friendly and knowledable the staff was, especially the registration staff! They were very helpful to me during my stay, especially, answering all my questions and concerns! June 23, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 Internet Connections I find it ridiculous in this time that a premier member must pay an hourly, daily, or weekly rate to access the internet; or must sit in the lobby to access free wifi, which only lasts for one hour. Every other hotel I have stayed at provides free internet to all or free internet with their rewards club members. This is a major deterant to business travelers who much depend on the internet to conduct their jobs. November 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hotel is clean Hotel is very clean and the staff is very helpful and nice. July 8, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by The restaurant service is terrible. I have stayed here that past 3 weeks and found that the restaurant terrible. The staff is not organized at all and the service is terrible. You can sit at a table at wait 10 minutes for anyone to approach you while seeing that staff standing together near the bar. In addition, the glasses are not clean. Myself and others there have sent drinks back because of the spots and lack of cleanliness on the barware. October 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Overall a very good experince The staff at the hotel was always professional and responsive. The rooms were well kept and overall generous in size, although the bathroom seemed a bit on the small side. I would rate the food only as average, but in fairness, I only had one meal at the hotel so this might not be representative of the overall quality. I thought the meeting rooms were excellent. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great convention site The meeting rooms were excellent. The three meals served during the convention were excellent, and the service during the meals was superb and efficient, with rolls, salads, water, and ice tea already on the tables, so the wait staff had only to remove the salad plates before bringing the main course. All was done quickly and pleasantly. May 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by NAfME Conference Great hotel. The only negative is that the house keeping did not clean my room one of the days of the four days I stayed there. July 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hotel for weekend events I stayed at this Sheraton for a very large swing & hustle dance event. The hotel and the staff were able to handle hundreds of dancers without an issue. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel was just the right size - large enough to accommodate our group but not so large that we were too spread out. It is very easy to get to off the Dulles toll road. Great value for money. Rated 3 out of 5 by Great hotel.....eatery not so much The hotel staff and housekeepers were outstanding and friendly. The housekeeper was especially sweet and helpful. The restaurant service was not so good. 1 hour for a $18 hamburger is a little much and we sat for an hour before the order was taken. I was afraid to attempt eating breakfast there because I would be late for classes that started at 800.....who knew how long I would have to wait? September 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Reunion was very successful The staff of the hotel were very accommodating and went out of their way to insure our alumni has a good experience. It will be even better when the Metro gets finished. June 23, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Room and food very over priced The Sheraton Preimiere has a great name, but it doesn't live up to it's name. The rooms are OK, but quite expensive for the area. However, the food was extremely overpriced, for example, a bagel for $12 or a hamburger for $18! This is outrageous. When we asked to have a lunch meeting, the price was $65 per lunch, which is absurd. Finally, the halls and stairways are extremely musty smelling. September 23, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Room charges This was a great place to stay in many respects, the room was very nice, however, if you’re a frequent traveler as I am, be aware that even if your laid over due to unforeseen flight delays, and even if you’re a Platinum Member, (I've stayed at this location just about every week for the past 4 months) this particular hotel will charge you for a no-show of $110.88 if you fail to call them before the minimum time frame allowed. In my case, I had no way of knowing if I would in fact make it that night, until well after the minimum time of cancelation, and was laid over in Chicago. I had hoped that they would be courteous to an elite member, that I would be reimbursed for this as I did check in the following day, but sadly, that is not the case. I will not be staying at this, or any Starwood hotel again, and I plan on highly discouraging anyone from my Division from ever using this hotel in the future December 10, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Kinks that Need to Be Untangled Told when I arrived no valet parking available. Upon checking in and inquiring again, told that valet parking was available. Restaurant &Rm Srvce was awful. Dined at 10 pm; very few customers & yet the staff would disappear taking forever to get dinner. Rm serv could not get the most simplest order correct & was inflexible - wanted honey mustard - said "no" only available at restaurant. August 5, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Terrible sevice in restaurant The food is good, but the service is very slow, the staff is not particularly friendly, nor do they remember you from one meal to the next. Which is surprising when you're there for 5 days and take two meals/day in the restaurant. Also, registration staff took 3 tries to give me a package that I had sent to the hotel, and then had the nerve to charge me a "handling fee." Not impressed. March 5, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Worst SPG experience The whole experience went wrong early when I tried to book the room. The staff quoted me a rate before I told her I was a conference attendee. Then I received two confirmation emails minutes apart. One with the rate the staff quoted me and the other with almost $30 more for each day. When I called back to question, I was told that I was put on the conference rate and the cheaper price is no longer available. That was very wield, and no explanation about the two confirmations. Then on the day of arrival, I was assigned to a room on 1st floor. After I finally got to the room after taking the service elevator (not the regular one) and climbing a few stairs with my suitcase, I found my room was near a nasty hall way and outside my room are cars parking next to my window. It was like a motel in the building basement. When I returned to front desk and requested a room change. The lady who assigned me the room asked me loudly "Why?" I guess she had never been to the rooms on their first floor. The hotel wasn't even nearly full, or she assumed I'd enjoy the car view outside my basement room window? Since then I felt cursed. Every day my room key became "inactive" and I had to go to the front desk 3 times during my stay because my keys didn't work any more. I was told I must have put my key near my cell phone disregarding I said I didn't. Then the staff doubted that I might not know how to use the keys (I travel a lot, I do know.) Finally on the last day they decided it's the battery in the door did the trick and fixed it. Besides that, I was lost in trying to find the rental car place next to hotel because they didn't tell me the rental car facility didn't have a sign outside and hid behind a very dark room. It's almost impossible to find. Once you got in, only one staff there managed a line of anxious travelers and got the car ready. I can keep going on and on...I don't usually complain this much, but I stayed with one of their competitors right before I moved to Sheraton. The professional, courteous and friendly service I received there was totally opposite from what I got from Sheraton. although Sheraton's room is larger and the shower head is better. Some staff in this facility need to be retrained, although still had some good ones. Sheraton should have done much better than this. July 24, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Career conference Hotel looks like it went through or is going through. I did not like the location of the room I was assigned. The carpet was dirty and had stains. I asked for a late check out due to,having training classes and the front desk guess service gentleman was rude and abrupt!!! I felt like a second class citizen. I did not get the ususal exceptional treatment I normally get as a SPG member!! October 3, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by needs room improvements The lighting in the bathroom and rooms are too dim. In the bathrooms there are no towel bars or hooks to hang your wet towels, hand towels or to hang your toiletries from. There is room on the walls, just take down a picture. Also need brighter light in the bathroom and a vent/fan. Also an outlet by the full length mirror and a light over that would help. Beds extremely comfortable. March 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent hotel Our family stayed in this hotel for one week. The room was very comfortable and staff members were friendly. We loved the heated pool very much. June 23, 2014
