We arrived for a wedding on Saturday. Immediately my expectations of having a nice stay at this hotel were dashed. Check-in took approximately 20 minutes because they lost the reservation for our King Bed Room. The desk clerk just kept on repeating "he would make it work." Unfortunately my sister and her husband ended up with a double bed room.
Once we were all checked-in and moved to our rooms my parents very quickly realized that the heating/cooling unit did not work in their room and the door would not stayed locked (meaning anyone could walk up and open the door into the room). The front desk was called and we waited over an hour for resolution of the issue. Finally the front desk decided to move my parents to a different room but gave them keys that did not open the door. They moved all of their stuff to the new room only to move it back to mine because they could not access the room. Did I mention that this was all during the cocktail hour and start of dinner for a wedding reception we were attending. My parents missed all of the cocktail hour and a portion of dinner but luckily (insert sarcasm here) dinner for the wedding was over an hour late. The food at the wedding was lackluster at best.
The next day when checking out rooms and charges were mixed up between our families credit cards so we needed to call back and get that rectified a day later.
In all I would avoid this overpriced hotel like the plague. There are too many wonderful places to stay in Pittsburgh to worry about ruining your trip with this bad experience waiting to happen.

Over two years ago I recommended a meeting in Pittsburgh for IEEE. Room were booked.
A few days before the meeting some 20 engineers were informed they no longer have rooms at the hotel. While the hotel did provide back the rooms, they way it was handled was not appropriate.
Another 11 individuals asked the hotel for use of the shuttle across town and they looked at the distance - and it was beyond the 1.5 mile contract. Initially we were told yes so we waited some 15 minutes for it. When the driver arrived he was extremely rude. Then the hotel refused to transport despite telling us they would. I guess desk speculated whether the driver would be willing to transport beyond the 1.5 mile radius and felt it was better to stiff the customer, rather than do the right thing.
Some influential members noted lack of maintenance. Doors were not working .. What is sad, is Pittsburgh is otherwise a nice city.
With over 400,000 members, I doubt this group of IEEE members will ever recommend the Sheraton hotels.

I decided a month in advanced I would book a room at this over-priced hotel to have a good experience for my step-daughter, who has never been in the area. My fiance and I have stayed here before, and other than being very pricey, it is a comfortable stay.
I remember calling the hotel directly and the woman taking care of me said we could not just check in Sunday, OCT 2, but if we stay OCT 1 - OCT 2, so that would mean checking out Monday morning, the 3rd, and checking in Saturday morning, the 1st. I was hesitant because of the price, but also wanted to treat my family, so we made the reservation. Never have I had something like this happen, so I call the hotel to see if we can add Friday night to our stay, since I seen it on expedia on sale, and they said they had me booked for MONDAY-WEDNESDAY. So the woman I was talking to about going to the football game mindlessly booked me for the wrong days. We talked about how lucky I was to get the last room available. It was very clear which days we were to be staying. So, that being said, we were 500 miles from home and have no place to stay for the weekend, with a football game coming up and most decent hotels are booked. Luckily we found a nice place to stay in the city, but we will never stay at Station Square Sheraton again, because they almost ruined our weekend get-a-way.

I stayed at the hotel as a conference was being held in the hotel. My hotel room was very clean and comfortable. All staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice view from my room.
Unfortunately, I need to mention that while sitting in one of the conference rooms attending the workshop, a mouse ran across the front of the room! A short time later, a hotel worker came into the conference room with a broom looking for the mouse. Not sure what the worker hoped to accomplish with a broom, but no mouse was rounded up or moved along. Hope the mouse was not headed for the kitchen!

Our stay could not have been better!
We had two rooms, with people coming in from out of town. With staggered friends coming in, we were worried about the room being ready. The rooms were ready well before we arrived, with a perfect view of the river.
The front desk staff was phenomenal!
When we lost our keys Garrett replaced them. During the game my boyfriend spilled a drink on himself, and Sami was able to let him use the dryer! Above and beyond!!!
We ordered room service. It was okay, Mannie was awesome when we decided to add another order when he delivered it. You need to add mozzarella sticks.
Special mention to Jeff, Kevin, and Amanda.

The hotel was amazing! The night lady that checked us in, Bilyta, was great! Hilarious, and wished my cousin's girlfriend a happy birthday after finding out we were here for the game and her birthday.
As our stay continued, Jeff was great to recommend the Gateway Clipper to take over to the game. Garrett and I had a fabulous conversation about the city.
Erin, Sami, and Mandy were great front desk people.
Overall amazing staff, we would come back!

From the moment we checked into the hotel we
were greeted by a warm and helpful staff. Our
room exceeded our expectations. We cannot wait to
return and go to a Steelers Game. Our late dinner in the
bar was fantastic too.
